I’ve actually always imagined a scene where you fight a huge (but really huge) enforcer with a banshee or hornet.

And, yes, boss battles would be cool. In Firefight, we could have a Scarab crawl into the arena. Or how about an unusually sized Hunter; as was seen in Halo Legends. Maybe even the Gravemind, or an Enforcer Sentinel (not sure if the, larger, Strato variant is combat-ready).
Armor abilities should definitely not be included in Halo 4. But since i don’t consider sprint an armor ability- its a natural human function- it should be included. The majority of people wanted sprint to be in Halo, but didn’t expect 6 gimmicky armor abilities. This is why not many people play Halo Reach.
I would like new additions but only those that actually enhance the gameplay and don’t affect the arena style competitive Halo, which doesn’t work very well with a class system. New additions that would actually be original, creative, and fitting to the Halo story would be integrating space combat into multiplayer(Halo books often include spacecraft in stories), creating a new alien species that could be the "ancient evil’ that is hinted at, and creating a new vehicle set from a species we haven’t seen yet such as the Forerunner or a new species.

Most of the discussion I see here is for Halo 4/Anniversary.Thats cause most Halo Fans gave up on Reach and Bungie and found hope in you and your future games. Unlike most others, I have not given up on Reach just yet. Only you can save Reach now. Over half a year passed since launch, and the game is still broken from a competitive standpoint. With a HUGE title update, you can save Reach.
After reading many posts, I tried summarizing what we want. (Can’t please everyone though)
Here are the main problems and some possible solutions:
Grenades:
The grenades in Reach have gotten the power they had in CE days again, but the fuse timer is much shorter. Combined with slower movement speed, grenades have become a real pain.
Solution 1: Lower the power of the grenades. Don’t let grenades bleed through shields.
Solution 2: Increase the fuse to be more comparable to Halo CE.
Solution 3: Change grenade functionality(including bouncing mechanics) to be like Halo 3.
Bloom:
Solution 1: Remove bloom from the DMR. This would speed up gameplay and remove the luck currently associated with the DMR. Modders have all ready done this, and looking at all your great work with your short time with the franchise, we think you could pull it off too.
Solution 2: Increase the max expansion of the DMR bloom to about 3 times the diameter of the current expansion. This would make spammers actually lose control of the DMR, and proper gun control would be required to use it effectively. To keep the gameplay from being to slow, the DMR should be a 4 shot kill with faster retraction rate, but more expansion with each shot. The increase in bloom expansion per shot would make it so the spammers get into trouble with the bloom, and the increased retraction rate would reward pacing your shots. The four shot kill would make sprinting away from a DMR battle much less effective. This solution is a lot harder, but if 343 studios could pulled it off they would prove their ability to balance Halo while adding new mechanics.
Armor Abilities:
Sprint: People complained there kills ran away, but there are DMR bloom fixes above that should fix that. Another user proposed that players should get knocked out of sprint when taking damage.
From what I have read in the title update discussion, the bulk of the problems in armor abilities was armor lock.
Solution 1: Get rid of armor lock in all gametypes.
Solution 2: Add a period of time after someone exits armor lock where the user is vunerable to damage, but cant move, aim, or shoot. This period should last around one second. Shields will start recharging after this bloc of time ends.
Solution 3: Make armor lock reduce damage instead of absorbing all of it.
Solution 4: Shorten armor lock, and get rid of the EMP and frosting effect.
A handful of people also had problems with Jetpacks because they can ruin map control:
Solution: Have jetpack as a pick up Armor Ability. This way, it could play a roll in getting top control, but!
You would first have to get to where the jetpack is as opposed to walking up the stairs to the top, or getting a power weapon etc.
Many players miss the feeling of spawning on the same terms of everyone else.
Solution representing them: Make a playlist with pick up AAs pick up. (Get rid of Loadouts, start with sprint)
You could do this without a TU though, so I would wait to see how many players come back after the update before adding this playlist. If the player count would be as low as it was now, the community would be split too much for ideal matchmaking speeds.
Most players had nothing against sprint, hologram, evade, or camo. However, there are also many players who hate armor abilities in general). If enough people support 343 industries getting rid of armor abilities in Reach Matchmaking (Say you just want Armor abilities gone in the comments) I will update this post to just say: Remove Armor Abilities. By the way, I am assuming you guys are not satisfied with the Classic Playlist.To represent the other sides, say if you support the other solution(s) over the removal of AAs.
AFK players: If a player gets 0 kills, don’t give him any Credits.

I was thinking about this on my way to work at 7am this morning.Bloom - is assuming is caused my recoil, so as a Spartan or Elite (even ODST) you can flip a ‘Warthog’ or ‘Scorpion’ why does a rifle or pistol have recoil if you have super strength? I know im picking holes i can’t help it

Im loving everything you’re doing with Halo at the moment. Kudos for the hard efforts to make this universe the best it can be.
BTW: Halo waypoint, best idea in a long time.
You have probably noticed a ‘trend’ starting in the forums revolving around the idea of Halo 4 having nothing to do with Reach and based solely on Halo 3.
Ive reminded people countless times that all the Halo games have evolved from their predecessors in some way or another.
I believe if we’re to continue with the same structure in mind (As well as innovate some new ideas) we will see a game that caters to its veterans, like myself, and can still compete with the new games of it genre. We all know we have to stay on top right?
Okay this thread is about feedback so without further belly aching, im going to address issues the general public deem most important.
-In my opinion, most components of Reach are great… The game runs so much smoother and cleaner than the other Halo’s, physic and graphic wise.
-Though jump height and running speed could use some tweaking. (they’ve always changed, we get that)
I also believe Sprint should be a standard component in the game… not an add-on for armor.
We’re an enhanced super soldier, im sure running isn’t that hard right?
-Personally, I would like a similar ranking system to Halo 3 for those who are competitive. Though having a credit system for buying new armor in MP only (as this fits the story line better) would still be nice.
Though this may bring up the multiple profile exploit that we seen in H3.
-Couldn’t care less about amour abilities, they’re fine for campaign. Though i feel starting with them in some MP game types is a little game breaking. Maybe adding them as pick ups in MP only?
These are some issues that feel should be looked into. They may be small… but im sure all the feedback you can get will better the game.

I would love to see the Halo 2 ranking system back, and by that I mean being able to see how close you are to ranking up on your stats page. Make more than 1 ranked playlist please! Especially Team Doubles…<3
I am really hoping 343 can read this post… I don’t know if they know but Custom Games is important for alot of us and it keeps us playin the game cause of the replay value. I’m really hoping Forge will be boosted up with features that were never implemented in the recent Halos. Here are some big things that I hope to see and many of us would like to see.
-More weapons and vehicles of course. 
-Smart A.I.- As I mean to this I’m talking about for Custom Games. Where we can put Civilians, Marines, Covenant or
Flood. They spawn like how we do with the Respawn Points. You can set them to… They can be set to attack anyone or a certain team (Red,Blue,Green,etc) so they play for your team or against it. You can also set their weapons and other player stats (Resistance,Shields, Damage,Speed,etc.) Plus you can also configure their behaivor…
+Agressive Stationary- They stay where they are but will attack on sight
+Agressive-They will look for you. And try to kill you.
+Neautral-Won’t attack at all.
+Defensive-They are stationed to defend a certain point like a flag, territory, etc.
-Infection Flexibility- I cannot tell you how many people play Infection. Even our population tracker tells us more people play Infection then any other gametype so they should feel the love. You decide with the flexibility but I would like to see the option to play as the Flood or Regular(Like Halo 3 and Reach.) The infected also have classes (even for flood) so they have different types of Zombies to play with and maybe even certain stats to run on walls.
-Skins- I think its boring and lifeless to see all our structures the same color and I feel they should have multiple skins like Sandy, Dirty, Forerunner, Covenant, Humans, etc.
-Writing- Option to write with different skins like Graffiti, City Signs, etc.
-Day and Weather- Option to set to Dawn, Day, and Night. Plus Rain, Fog, Sunny, etc.
- Terrain Morphing- Basically make your own terrain.
These features would mean limitless ideas and creativity for everyone!

In Halo, whene you look down you can see your feets, your legs and a part of your body,
that what you should keep.
Because, you can’t see your legs in almost all others FPS so you fell to be
a flying head whit two arms in front holding a gun.
Is this little detail make a Halo so great and so immersif.
And just like that, you can put some new thing with the map pack of Anniversary
like some old weapons or vehicules come back, in forge or just in the maps of Halo CE Anniversary.

And I really like the Spectre of Halo 2, it was very good for local match (or split screen) but less the
Prowler of Halo 3, i dont know why, so is just a idea.

Reach is quite broken from a competitive standpoint. It’s going to take a lot to bring it back. But before I give feedback, It would probably be better to know where I am coming from. I’ve played Halo for around seven years now, in Halo 2, I started out slow and worked my way to the top, achieving a level 30 or so. Then Halo 3 turned around and it took me till December to get a General, and then I progressed to leveling each individual playlist to 45+ ('cept squad battle, only got to 42). In Reach I easily obtained almost a 2 k/d and w/l, playing solo. With this said that is where I believe Reach failed. Besides multiple broken elements, the game stands a serious shot at being a competitive Halo. With that said, here is what I believe needs to happen, please note these should NOT be forced changes, as I’m sure some players do enjoy the current system.
Reach is boring, boring from a competitive aspect, seeing as every game is a BAD matchup, even though my BPR is 100. The problem is, the current system is not strict enough, or needs to start dividing into the tenth and hundreth decimal place when hitting around 90 or so. Getting Onyx was pretty easy. I did 3 games a day in Doubles and Slayer and got that rather quickly, the system is annoying, and a failure at best. Having to play every day should not be a requirement, and the fact of the matter is, the system is a failure because I would WANT bad teammates so I could carry them. One to fifty did a much better job in terms of encouraging people to work as a team and to not quit, as far as I see it, I’ve had more people quit in Reach, than I did in Halo 3. I’m not saying remove it, but the fact of the matter is, when you have a skill level that you earned, you generally do not want to ruin it. That being said I’ll get to some changes.
Bloom implementation is pitiful at best, it slows down kill times, when the thing I liked about Reach was that it brought back the insane pace of Halo 2. I’ll get into more detail on pace later. Bloom promotes spamming in the fact that it does not punish it enough, while the crouch shot is a nice tactical addition, it only serves to ruin the pace as well. Bloom should either be removed (which would be a nice option), or made so that it expands and contracts, twice as fast. This would serve a more tactical purpose but again, ruin the pacing.
Reach’s gameplay pacing is rather broken, due to armor abilities. Sprint, and Evade allow for fast, blistering gameplay, while abilities like Camo, along with Armor Lock, break it. While Camo is not really a problem, Armor Lock is. Five seconds is way too long, it should be around 0.5 sec, with a faster recharge. Armor Lock will be better as a “Get out of jail free card” from a grenade, but not so long to the point where you or your enemies are stuck waiting to get on with something that should have happened several seconds ago. Jetpack should be a map controled ability. I am tired of doubles games where the other team just consistently pushes with Jetpack in a mindlessly futile attempt to tie kills, it creates annoying gameplay at best. Not to mention it butchers map design and makes it near impossible for designers to provide good gameplay without pushing one side, that uses jetpacks, or the other side, that does not use them, to the fence. Because of armor abilities, the pacing of reach is inconsistent, and with a armor lock change such as this, it can be remedied very easily.
Compared to Halo 3, I feel more tactical when playing it, because in Reach Sprint serves as a get out of jail free card thanks to bloom, and the fact that the other player most likely has another ability, besides sprint or evade. In Reach, I am no where near as sensitive to my position, because in Reach I can just run away, and come back later.
Another element, that albeit, is still in Reach, but not as mainstream as before, is Jumps. The Halo series is known for insane jumps that allow you to quickly, and skillfully traverse the map with ease. This is not in Reach due to the reduced jump height.
Movement speed is slower than Halo 3 as well, leading to even slower gameplay than the transition from Halo 2 to 3. Because of this the gameplay does not feel like halo, and MLG needed to make more adjustments to allot for this change.
The melee system, is broken at best. The tactics that were in Halo 2’s melee system are gone. I suggest bringing it back. Standstill melee will only take away 70% of shields, while running will produce a 90% reduction, and jumping will completely shatter it. This was a realistic, and tactical addition, that I miss. Spillover damage and double melees, well, those vary, however, I say continue with spillover, and in the place of a draw, have both players die. In a perfect world, you would want the one with faster reflexes to win, however this is not possible with todays networking technology and limitations on bandwidth imposed by Xbox Live.
These changes, again, should be optional, because there are others who enjoy the current status of play, and because this is a business, you should target the widest range possible.
Please do not weight my opinion any differently than others, just because I have been playing longer, while I ask for you to maintain the competitiveness that I miss in Halo, I am not the only one, and if I had it my way, the game would have no randomness whatsoever, and most casual players would leave to the impossibility of outdoing someone of a greater skill. I hope you consider these changes, because at the moment I am dubious of the addon’s ability to do more good to Combat Evolved than butchering it, but if the rumors on the scene are true, which I’m fairly sure they are. Then I look forward to a good update.
This isn’t really a big deal i guess, but when I started to play reach i imediately felt… Slow and clunky. You couldn’t jump as high as in the previous games and you lost your momentum way to easily. such as when you jumped down, landed on a curved ramp, and would launch yourself forward, previously, you would get some good distance assuming you stayed in the air as much as possible. sometimes from one side of the map to the other. in reach you lose all the momentum mid air and don’t go very far at all. also grenade jumping does not work anymore, which has been apart of every halo game since the first. Fall damage being put back in just… was frustrating, but oh well… although the new weapons did feel nice. The DMR is a beauty, it felt nice having a strong pistol back, the shotgun felt like it had longer range than usual for some reason, and Needle rifle definitely had the satisfaction of the needler super combine. But where was the flamethrower? anyways, Good game, but you felt more like a spartan in halo than you do in reach.
Hey 343! I have been actively creating a thread over at Bungie.net that contains what we (as Halo players) want to see in the Forge in Halo 4 (I know you will have it). I love forge and I think it is great, but you can make it better. Here are most of the suggestions that were suggested in my thread. Please read this and know that we have faith in you.
> Give us more scenery items along with the usual structure-only items. In Halo 3, we had things like turret cases and computers. While they were cool and all, we really don’t have that many scenery items. You need scenery to set up the environment of your map. All Forge World maps generally look the same and it’s getting old.

I like the idea, but what if Sprint, Swim, and Jetpack were the only armor abilities? I think I would like that, and you might even be able to customize them to be default.
I dont know if this is possible but it would be cool if it was, anyway there should be something called a vehicle zone. in the center of this zone, is a control terminal that can be changed to a certain type of vehicle controls like drivable or flyable. Any forge piece placed inside this zone will be treated like a vehicle and would be able to be driven. This way you can make your own cars or ships and you would be able to drive them via the control terminal." AMAZING IDEA!
