Grifball is gonna ban lots of people.

> I received a ban after being disconnected to an already completed match. Why is this? Iād also like to note that I did not act unsportsmanlike in the match I completed. No betrayals, no idling, nothing. Is it possible that the system can have a hiccup and issue a false ban? I feel that may have happened to me, as I rarely ever quit matches. In the past of quitting only one match, I did not receive a ban. The ban that recently happened was lifted after about 30 minutes, but it could have been longer or shorter because the system banned me without a notified reason or duration. Itās not an issue for me now, as the ban is lifted, but it is discouraging me from playing if the system is giving out false bans. Iād like to add that if it was because of quitting, I quit one match out of nearly 22 matches over nearly a week. Is that even enough to be issued a ban? I was under the impression that consistent quitting would result in a ban, not one. And I wasnāt even banned after quitting. I was banned after completing a match to the very end when I eventually got disconnected in the outro sequence. Some enlightenment on this matter would be nice.
Same happened to me 5 min ago bro ā¦
Hey Guys,
So i was upstairs laying with my daughter while she fell asleep and come down and my son is saying it says someone is banned and it wont let me play. i have no idea what he did but im assuming that he continually committed suicide or quit games. is there a way to lift my ban or at least tell me how long im banned for?
I got banned today after a finishing a SWAT match. Iām a team player and I rarely quit. I only quit unless I have to for real-life reasons, not ranking or raging. Iām thinking it had something to do with the unavoidable teams kills on grifball. Should I just avoid that mode altogether? That doesnāt seem right. I did quit one match after 3 Grifballs in a row because it wouldnāt let me out of the lobby. No score boards or anything. Anyone else having this issue?

I seem to be banned after playing Grifball. Not sure why, I didnāt teamkill anyone. My score was bad, but Iām just bad a grifball. I didnāt get a message either, itās just that in arena matchmaking there are red letters that say āat least one fireteam member has been banned from Halo Guardians.ā Oh wait while I was typing this I seem to have become unbanned. I donāt understand.
P.S. Iām 58 years old not some kid. If Iām doing something wrong it would be nice to get a warning and explanation.

I was just banned for 6 -Yoinking!- minutes for quitting a game of shitball that I accidentally started. I probably have over a hundred games since the last time I quit. Why?

Yeah this is kind of silly. I thnk they did this big update but in typical Microsoft fashion, didnāt want to spend the man hours updating the banning parameters. So now, we are beta testing the ban hammer system and suffering because of it. Come on 343/Microsoft dig into a budget somewhere and put some people on this.

Because the Banhammer doesnāt reset, it remembers you quit some games in September and October of last year⦠lmao lame.

May have to with the fact that you have 4 dnfs in your last 30 matches.
I love getting banned because I donāt actually enjoy playing with mouth breathers. Shocking that.

Yeeeep. Exactly like this.
Got banned for leaving a CUSTOM GAMEā¦

7 out of your last 20 arena and 6 out of your last 20 warzone were DNFS. You could at least be honest.
Ok apparently force quit/reset of Halo 5 fixed my end game problem. No results screen, canāt back out of lobby, ect⦠So no more quoting matches because I can actually leave the lobby now.
Stay away from Griffball! Iām pretty sure thatās a major problem right now. Betrayals and all that.
I had 1 DNF from a disconnect on 2/15, and I left a social ctf yesterday and got a ban. Not sure how the system determines an accidental disconnect from this statement: āOur automated system builds up a digital case of wrongdoing before any ban is enacted. If you accidentally disconnect a time or two, you wonāt get banned.ā but apparently 1 disconnect and 1 leave from a social ctf (not even ranked) results in a ban.
Basically, I understand from the post that Quitting matches, Betrayals or team killing, Idling (AFK), intentional suicides, and excessive disconnects contribute to a ban. So far I have quit 1 social ctf game, havenāt intentionally betrayed or team killed anyone (out of the pages of games on my match history, Iām sure a teammate might have ran/boosted into a grenade I already threw and died, or walked into a rocket/sniper shot for a betrayal, but by no means excessive and limited to less than 5), I have never idled/afk, I have never intentionally suicided (besides the accidental boosting off the map trying to dodge an enemy, but who hasnāt with all the new maps), and I have had 1 disconnect.
This resulted in a ban? How does the system track things like accidental boosting off maps (suicides), and teammates intentionally or accidentally running into your shot/grenade? I know in big team battle Iāve seen, and had be the victim of trolls intentionally trying to walk in front of sniper shots because they were mad they werenāt able to pick up the power weapon fast enough.
How does this system work when one of my friends who was partied with me and left the same social ctf game (and Iāve seen him leave games due to real-life reasons three times before) has never received a ban. Iāve played multiple games with him and have seen him accidentally betray teammates several times in big team battle and he has never received a ban. Really confused how the system is building a case: āOur automated system builds up a digital case of wrongdoing before any ban is enactedā.
The one major issue I have is whether the ban system ever resets. It ruins some of the fun when iām constantly worried that uncontrollable accidental team damage or suicides, or a potential disconnect, will result in a longer and longer and longer ban.

> why am I banned
The ban screen will tell you why you got banned - most common reasons are for team killing, idling in games or quitting matches. Canāt access your service record to see your game history, do you use another account to play?

> Whatās up guys ? some crazy -Yoink- appened today after the update ā¦i quit 1 game and i got ban for 1 hour ā¦1 -Yoinking!- hour for 1 quit ⦠and this happened also after finishing one game regular , not even after the game i quit , my game history prove this as well ā¦so i read that u implemented the ban system but i think you have to fix it first ā¦
You will never be banned for just 1 quit, but it will be that came that caused you to hit a trigger and the hammer to swing. You have 8 DNF matches in your history over the past 7 days. Should also note that if you were banned for 1 hour then this is not your first offence, The ban system is incremental so you would only read a 1 hour ban after 2 or 3 offences. The system itself generally runs 1 game behind, so while it might look like you get banned for finishing or winning a match, it is just catching up and acting on a previous game offence.

Bans are automated Iām afraid, If your son has done something to get your account banned, youāll just need to wait it out. As far as I know it should tell you on the playlist screen what you cool down time it. It also displays how you you get banned for on the ban screen itself.

It doesnāt really reset as such, but bans are only placed when there is a recognisable pattern of offences picked up from any of those listed in the OP. As your friend probably wonāt have that heāll be fine - leaving the odd time for IRL stuff is acceptable, itās when this keeps happening over and over. Thereās only so many times you can leave due to emergencies within a short period of time before itās going to get flagged.
soooo i was bannned do to āpoor connection to the dedicated serverā what do you do when your banned (consistently enough) for BAD CONNECTION can someone PM me about why this could keep happening, it happens about once in 100 games, which is more then enough to get annoying, and it only happens in arena

Laggy matches, my internet is terrible. I guess thatās why but the custom is what set it off for some reason
