The only time I’ve seen ppl get 7 day
bans for no reason was intentionally losing to rank low. Other then that I always assumed 3-4 days was the max ban you could get for just DNFS

Well our primary role here is to keep the forums clean and enforce the rules, we provide support where we can and if we have time to. Remember we’re only volunteers here, this is all done on our spare time. Personally I have devoted a considerable amount of time to helping people in the support forums over the past few months, both before and after I became a monitor.

I will say you are one of the more reoccurring monitors I do see helping when you can. Especially in this side of the forums.

I quit one game within the last 72 hours and now have a 5 hour ban… can someone please explain to me how this is possible? i understand leaving a game is bad towards your teammates however a ban this long does not make sense.

I love meeting smart people like you in the forums that are trash at halo and so ready to explain my ‘rage quitting’ as being the logic for me getting a week long ban. Ive never had more than a 20 minute ban and rarely quit games aside from your well referenced post of games i did quit due to unfathomable lag. (See my gamedvr if you like) You, as well, can piss off. You know nothing and did not offer a valid explaination. Points for trying.

To have a 5 hour ban must mean that you have had bans previously for maybe a couple of hours before, although this may be a little gem of insight on how the banhammer records it’s cases against players.
From what I understand the time always increases and never decreases(in one way it’s good and in another it’s bad)
Just going through your game history I think you only have about 3 or 4 DNF’s out of the last 100 games in arena, also about 6 DNF’s out of 100 games in warzone.
(although the banhammer does record afk and betrayals and this goes towards the case being built against the player)
So just by going on the DNF’s it does look a bit strange, although I would have to look back fruther in your history to see when your first ever DNF was.
Most likely the the amount of evidence that the banhammer has that any kind of infringment of misconduct will set off the banhammer, even though I am an advocate of the banhammer… in this case it sucks.
On your case alone I think this of an example of how the banhammer should have a form of reset or a cooling off period/good behaviour period. The less DNF’s/AFK/Betrayals should go towards ammount of games played and finished over a period of time and put the player in a state of “Good/positive gameplay”
This in turn would “wind back the clock” of the time a player hase to serve for their ban, if any accidental misconduct occures.

The valid explanation is what I posted above, and If you do not realise that if you whent though your entire history then part of the answer is there, the banhammer also recods AFK’s/betrayals and habitual quitting, it looks for a pattern and formulates a case against the player.
And no the rage quit was actually a question, not an accusation, this is what this symbol “?” means.
Also you you asked for an explanation and I gave you one to try and help you understand what has happened, with figures obtained from your game history.
If you don’t like that explanation that is your perogative, take it as you will, but telling someone to -yoink- off when they are trying to help, will not get you much help in the future.

You’re trying to explain the ban system to me. I’m in the top 50 people in the world in overall playtime. I think i understand the ban system. I’m banned for 'manipulating the matchmaking system. I dont de-rank my accounts as someone said earlier but am experiencing a 7 day ban.

Ah I see, my bad, to be honest I have never seen anyone that has that type of message, and even going back over the first page it does not mention it there specifically, although it could come under the “Idling through games, habitual quitting/suiciding/betraying, or any other type of unsociable and unsportsmanlike behavior.

My guess would be that the system detected som lag spikes or packet loss to the servers that it might interperet as some sort of connection manipulation which in turn could have an adverse affect of the matchmaking algorithm that it uses to match you to other players.

I wasn’t saying you did that I was mentioning I had never seen that except for that reason. Saying that’s odd you got a 7 day of it was just for quitting

Even if the aforementioned did happen… 7 days is ridiculous. I pay for xbl. I paid for this game. And I can’t play it for 7 days? Really. I want a mod reply at this point.

Your best bet is to message unyshek directly

I stopped playing H5 since march, due to college, and I finally came back this month. The first day I only left 1 game and I got banned for a few minutes. It was strange to me.
Since then, despite I barely quit games, it seems that I am not allowed to quit a single match. I leave a one game, a day, and I get banned for a few more minutes.
Today, I got banned for 3 hours by quitting only ONE match. For proof, you can see my game history. This need to be addressed as soon as possible. This is completely outrageous.

You have more than 1 unfinished match in the last week, as mentioned in the first post and in this topic you don’t get banned for quitting one match. Can i ask if the ban timer was displayed as 3:XX or can you show / state what the actual ban time was/is?

Post edited. As far as I can remember, I got banned for 2 hours and 51 minutes. Last times, in the last 8 days, I got banned 4 times with only 4 DNF.

I do understand that I have left some games but the bann hammer should be able to tell of I leave by my choice or in my case gets kicked out from lag. Also not sure of they fixed the teamkilling banning in grifball yet cause %90 of the time its accidental.

Just got DCd from a match (not xbox LIVE) due to server disconnect, and it was marked as a DNF - just wanted to post that, for somebody special, who, referred to an update fixing that.

so a smart person would then come to the conclusion warzone DC are separate the arena ones… since i still have yet to receive a DNF in arena, and ive notcied more ppl are talking about that.
also your little GF still was not banned for the dumb game you keep trying to bring up she was banned for the game before that she quit. and she did not receive a DNF for the game she finished first either. in case you missed it someone else pointed that out as well.

I like the way the system is set up currently. Occasionally it sucks because I’ll not leave a game in weeks, and have to leave for for one reason or another, and I get a short ban. Short, but annoying, nonetheless.
