I left one game to go do something and I was banned for an hour. Seriously why was I banned for leaving one game?

The system definitely needs to be toned back a bit. Iāve been playing Halo since day one. Iāve spent months of my life in match making games. Never have I ever been banned for anything. I barely play all week, played a little bit yesterday and play for a few hours today, then I quit ONE game, after I dealt with quitters and idolers all morning and I get banned. I know itās only for a few minutes but come onā¦ They need to adjust the matchmaking to fill in players more like COD or Battlefield. Those games are rarely uneven for long. A quitter in Halo is basically a death sentence for the rest of the team. But sometimes you have no choiceā¦ 5 quits in a weeks time, fine ban them. 1 quit, I donāt think soā¦

Actually I get good kills pretty regularly, at least every other game. You think your better than me? Why donāt you add me and find out. I just checked your win %, its 53.with all my quits, mine is 49% . Iām liking those odds. After you get pwned, you can complain to your 343 mammy about how you got tea-bagged by an entitled a-hole.
So it happened again. Playing infection and it takes me out of the game saying my fire team has changed. Banned for 3 hours now. At this point Iām not upset anymore Iām just gonna stop playing this game until this gets resolved. I just wish someone would respond so I feel like Iām not talking to a wall. But before I go I might have some HELPFUL INFORMATION. I noticed Iām not the only one having the āfire team changeā boot issue, however this time I noticed it happened as soon as my friend invited me. I did not accept the invite I didnāt say anything and I didnāt press any buttons but it snatched me out of the game anyway so now Iām banned. IF ANYONE HAS A SOLUTION TO THIS PLEASE HELP. So far 343 has done nothing except show me that my signals of distress have fallen upon deaf ears. I hope I will be proven wrong though. If anyone can help. Thank you
I got banned for 23 hours for losing connection at the end of an infection matchā¦ WTF 343. Yes, I quit the previous match because I was performing badly due to lag.
But to ban me for 23 FING HOURS from playing anything else in arena is fing bulls***! At least just ban me on infection and not everything else.

As a player who plays primarily arena slayer, I find it disgustingly unfair that I receive long bans 2-24hrs . These bans often occur after dropping only 1 in 10 games. Is this an issue with the ban system or is the ābanhammerā suppose to be this hard? It is a disservice to costumers if so.

Lolol this is the funniest thing ive read in a while. I wasnāt aware you were so salty. So I assume due to your response you realize you are over reacting cause you arenāt allowed to quit infection. And all I simply stated was unless you are last man standing kills arenāt that good. But thatās ok. You quit games you are getting stomped in. So you never challenger yourself. Okay this is getting beyond ridiculous i usually leave a couple games and get banned for 8 hours or so, but today i hop on the xbox chuck in Halo 5 jump into a game on infection and now iām banned for 3 STUPID DAYS just because i lost connection to the game like THE HECK 343I fix it please. How is Halo 5 suppose be fun!!! when you get a stupid ban hammer for no reason at all. Itās so frustrating grrrr! And i hadnāt even played it today it was my first game of infection for the day and that happens seriously 343I sort your stuff out aye. please lower the banhammer. For some reason I might not be able to play Arena anymore since it doesnāt have a timer, but also I cant play since someone in my fireteam is banned. Which member since I am the only one.
im now banned for 24 hours for having to answer my door for the police. i idled and got banned for it . usually it wouldnt matter but i had no choice but to answer the door . was i supposed to say "hang on officer while i play this warzone match " ā¦ plz this is the only game i play , this ban system is even harsher than league of legends

Iāve updated the original post with a short paragraph on this: you are never banned for quitting a single match. It takes multiple offences to earn a ban. It also never drops a 1 hour ban for a first offence, so you must have been previously banned to reach this time.
Iām so annoyed. I was banned because I have bad connection! First of all BAD CONNECTION IS NOT MY FAULT. Second of all I paid for this game I should be able to play it. 343 better fix this really soon or I am getting rid of this game.

Well you have said it yourself: i usually leave a couple games and get banned for 8 hours or so This obviously means that you have quit more than a few times in the past to deserve an 8 Hour ban, also you have been banned before.
Also in the last 40 games you have played you have 10 DNFās, that equalās to a 25% quit rate!
Oh and of course that first game of infection, survived 58 seconds and 1 survival kill, then it goes DNF!! I think you rage quit, and then the banhammer strikes because of your other DNFās, this may also include any possible betrayals that might have occured in any of your previous games.
The easy answer to not be banned for hours and days at a time is to not DNF/quit out of games, because it has been stated by Monitors before that the banhammer remembers the ammount of times you quit by keeping a record of said quits, and the ammount of time you are banned will continually increase and will not be re-set.
I call BS on the statement that quitting one game will not get you banned. I played seven games of swat today after not playing halo for around a month. I quit the sixth game halfway through. I completed the seventh game and was banned. This needs to be addressed since it obviously happens.

that statmenet involves quitting your first game ever. the amount of time betweeen games does not matter, its purely the amount of games that is factored in. so lets say someone quit 5 games in a row. then came back 8 months later to play a 6th and quit they would still be banned for the 5 they had before

5/15= 1 DNF
5/16= DNF plus 1 game then banned
5/17 you played with no bans
5/18= 3 DNF in a row plus 1 game then banned
5/19= 1 DNF then one game played then banned
5/20- 1 DNF then 2 games then banned
based off your story and the fact the 20th was your last day played it seems every day you logged in after your banned you started to play a game quit finished your next one then were banned. but based off this your DNF is what is causing the game to ban you. i assume you get to play today tomrrow at the lastest an all i can say is if you quit one game you will get another ban. the system has you pegged a quitter right now and you need to just stay in the games no matter how miserable the score might be if you dont want another 3 day ban coming
