The official Halo 5 "Why was I banned?" thread

my xbox has the double beep game ejection glitch . its really annoying as it is and i ended up on a 2 hour ban because MICROSOFT MAE A GLITCHY UPDATE how amazing
im not on a ban currently . but its still scary whenever my system beeps

> Hi i just got banned for 3 hours and i dont really know why ive only left like 5 games in the past week…

All your other DNFs build a case against you GT. You have 10 out of roughly 60 games played. The amount of time in between games does
not get factors in only the games themselfs

> With the arrival of multiplayer online gaming, a need arose to manage online play so as to prevent cheaters, exploiters, and otherwise bad players from running rampant. Mario and Zelda were single-player, offline games, so they did not require the same level of supervision as multiplayer games. But even with those old games, cheating was frowned upon, and game companies discouraged use of things like Gameshark, saying that any corruption to the game caused by such devices would not be fixed by them.
> Of course, quitting isn’t cheating by any means, but it is something that upsets the flow and quality of multiplayer games, especially in online shooters. You may think that social gametypes should be handled differently, but the fact is they aren’t. They are handled how 343i handles them. And, in all probability, no amount of typing in all caps or typing obscenities that get censored will change that. What you call ā€œcorporate overlords controlling what you doā€, I call following the rules. Lo and behold, I’ve never been banned! A correlation, perhaps? So feel free to continue fighting for gamer rights, or whatever you want to call it, and quitting social games when you want. You’ll keep getting banned, but that is the risk you take.

ā€œThey’re handled how 343 wants to handle them.ā€ Your a right -Yoink-, aren’t you? If something is unfair, we should all just go along with it, cuz 343 said so. Suck a friggin -Yoink!-, you turd nugget.

I’ve played about 33 games and quit once and I get banned for 30 minutes? When the game first came out I quit a decent bit so I have a history of doing it. But I’ve only quit twice in like 60 games and yet I still get banned for leaving one match early out of all that? This seems a bit extreme is there some way to fix this?

Unfortunately there is not. The only thing as of now is to keep playing and not quitting games. Try an put pistance in between the games you had DNF is heavily.

iv’e been banned from halo 5 arena and i don’t know why can someone help me. i was playing team arena summer preview when all of a sudden in the middle of a game a screen about a ban hammer or something pops up for a split second and im instantly kicked from the game and when i try to join any game in arena it says atleast 1 member in my fire team is banned and im the only one in my fire team

Reason for your Ban is the ammount of DNF games. 4 DNF’s out of 9 games and they were back to back
Simple answer to not get banned… Don’t Quit Games.

My problem. It was insisted that I put it here.

> My problem. It was insisted that I put it here.

You got your answer. You weren’t banned for the game you finished. It was for the game you quit before hand. There is no reset either

> > **I didn’t do anything wrong, and you can’t prove it. Will you please reverse my ban?**Our automated system builds up a digital case of wrongdoing before any ban is enacted. If you accidentally disconnect a time or two, you won’t get banned. Instead the system looks for patterns that can’t happen accidentally. If the banhammer detects enough wrongdoing, you were doing wrong.

same buddy I know what its like my internet gets me kick and now im banned for a hour

I quit two consecutive games last night. Got banned. No problem.

Quit once this morning. Got banned. And I’m being told it’s because of that quit in addition to other DNFs in my history. In the end, I’m earning a greater penalty than before for a less offensive crime. Great.

Cheers 343, so I was playing infected this morning and I was doing good then I finished the match just when they were showing the player in the 1° place the game kicked me out with the lost connection message and subsequent the ban hammer for 24 hours this was my first match of the day and the last one , its a bit unfair hope I get a response, Thanks!

You were banned for a DNF the game or two before. Once the game says game over you get credit for finishing. Ban hammer runs 1-2 games behind from when it actually strike you

You have three DNFs on the first page alone. I stopped looking after that. But even if you quit your last game yesterday it carries over

My game will end then it says, lost connection to server, or recently in infection I will finish my game then I’m banned after idk why this keeps happing but starting to get frustrated I’ve quite games only when my team is getting dominated b this can’t be right please help??!!?

As stated in post right above. The ban hammer has a slight delay… The game before was a DNF and the ban hammer does not strike till 1-2 games later.

ok, if your not going to pay attention to what I’m saying, don’t waste your time posting some holier-than-thou crap . I dont care about wins and losses. If I’m playing a game, and make a couple of rookie mistakes, getting infected super early, and its round three and I have less than half the score of.the guy in the lead, I am not going to waste my time finishing a game I know its physically impossible for me to win, when that might be the only game I get to play all day. If I’m playing a game, and made some awesome plays, and then got killed simply because someone was better than me, I’m ok with losing that game. Just getting a couple of good kills is enough for me. But again, not gonna waste my time if I got lurked on three times in a row and had no time to even get some good kills by the time its almost over. And where the hell is theCasual Gaming Space on halo? Not everybody wants to be ranked all the damn time, and worry about stupid rules. Social playlists are specifically the gametypes where you should be able to play casually, e.g. however the hell you want. And if you disagree, move along to another forum where you can talk about how much you love deep-throating 343. Thanks in advance.

Lol I have been playing infection 90% of the time since it came out. But based off your response all I can say is have fun serving your bans for quitting then. Tried being nice but you are to entitled to think you deserve to quit cause you can’t win an infection game. You also said getting a few good kills is good enough for you. Yet again it’s infection unless you are LMS you really can’t do that. In all honesty. Either way I was understanding what you were saying you are just to entitled to actually comprehend that. But no hope for you. Keep quitting then and enjoy your upcoming bans. Lmao quitting cause he got infected early. Funny stuff

Casual != quittable.
