…just finished a game of Griffball…played very very passive…lost our butts…but only one friendly kill…about panicked when I accidentally killed a team mate…this is not cool…taking the fun out of this game…please fix.
So now we’ve got this new update with all its fancy bells and whistles, one of them being an old favorite: multi-team. Time to have some fun, right? Wrong. First match I get into, I get disconnected immediately before the game even loads up. Second match, get kicked for no reason in the middle of the match. In fact, I was stuck on some kind of loading screen that I couldn’t get out of until I used the dashboard. Try again, same result. Then I load up the game again and I get a -Yoinking!- arrogant message “The banhammer strikes!” Translation: “Our servers are terrible so we’re going to punish you for it.”
And I know damn well the problem is on 343s end, because every other online game I have is working flawlessly.

I’ve experienced many of the same problems the past couple of weeks or so…long time player and fan…no past bans…but tonight got blind sided by my first…feel pretty disappointed about it and done wrong…very nervous of playing multiplayer anymore.
Been to H5 Guardians forum…complaints of players accidentally booting players during Grifball because option pops up when they are frantically hitting buttons…and players getting unfairly banned during Grifball. Please help us with this problem! Very upsetting…sitting Grifball out until then. Thank you!
I’ve been banned twice after losing a game in arena. I rarely quit games because I want those -Yoink!- Req points so I can open gold packages and get the -Yoink!- diddly darned Fotus armor. Please fix this, I now have a 1 hour ban for losing a game.

You do not get banned fot losing a match, or several for that matter.
In the last few days you have racked up quite a few DNFs, which most likely lead to your bans.
However, the banhammer is known to have a slight delay with its verdicts, so you may get banned while in a match, but it won’t kick you out of it, it’ll just come into effect when you’re done. That’s why it may seem like you get banned for winning or losing.
Hello there, i was playing griffball but there was some bug which cause that respawn place was somewhere in textures. After few moments i leave the game cause of this bug and now i am under ban? Is it possible to do something with that or tell me for how long i am banned? Thank you. The damaged map was Skylark ( if there is something like the white bridge in the middle of map )
Played a game of SWAT and all of a sudden got the notification (Your fireteam has changed, you have been removed from the match). I was playing by myself. I got a ban for that.

Quitting had been out of control since the first of the year. If there are some issues with banning to work the kinks out of the system so be it. I had given up on this game due to constantly playing in games with lopsided teams. Might have to give it a try again. By the end of February I bet 1/3 of the games I played would be at least one person quit. Many times people would quit in the first minute. Go get them 343 
as playing a match and won it, and being a good sport and all, then after the match, It says I cannot play anything else and it says I have to wait for a whole day. I know i have quit matches in the past but this time, I didnt even quit that last game… Pls help or take away my bann please, because clearly there was some mistake and not on my behalf this time…

After two calls to Microsoft support, and without finding a contact number for 343, I’m extremely upset with the in-game bans happening to my account for no reason. The reason “The Banhammer Strikes” is for quitting too many matches, but no matches were quit, and each ban, the time doubled. My Xbox live information is secure and I ensured no one accessed my account. Microsoft support was called after the second and third ban and declared they cannot do anything about it because its an in-game ban (case #1334656230, first call after 10 min ban.) After the first call, I got off and waited a few hours and immediately in the first game after I got back on, I was kicked from slayer after less than 5 mins and a second call was placed. The console is in complete working order and my internet is wired and very reliable. The problem is not on my end and I’d appreciate it if someone could help resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Ban hammer is usually delayed at least one match. So you get banned while in a match for a previous match you quit. It’ll look like you got banned for a completed match.
If I’m right, you got a DNF in a Multi Team on Basin, then had a victory the match after. I’m guessing that’s the victory match you got the ban after.
Earlier in your game history, didn’t look that far back into it, you had four consequtive DNFs.

Three DNFs on first page, two with negative KDs, one leaving just at the start of the match as there weren’t much to your stats.
If it’s disconnects, then that’s bad luck. If it’s not, you know perfectly well why you recieved a ban.
No matter how you end up not being a match, be it quitting, disconnecting, booted and what other way there may be, you’ll qualify for a ban, which is an automated process.
I also have yet to see someone’s ban lifted.
i343 can pretty much also ban you without notice, at anytime. So as I’ve understood it, they can ban you for no reason at all. That’s in the terms of use.

Where do you find the stats for the bans. I would be interested in seeing what my sons 3 day ban was for (it was his first as well)

Nope its his first ban…how do I know…we only play on the main TV so no sneaking game time. I have seen people/moderates saying that they looked up details about bans. Where do people find these details?

I do not see stats for bans, I see the game history of players and draw a conclusion on my own as to why the player is banned, or claims to be banned.
So you’ll have to go to your sons service record on this site and look at his game history.
I’d advice against posting his GT though as I’d assume it’d be calling out. Though I’m not sure. You could always send his GT to me as a PM and I could take a look, but at the moment I’m on a phone and limited time, so it’d be in about 9 hours or so before I could properly take a look.
Then again, as we have been told ban times are incremential with each offence, getting an immediate 3 day ban sounds illogical. While I have no reason to believe you’re lying, chances are you could be. So if possible I would appreciate some sort of proof of this claim. Something to verify a potential error that could then be corrected by i343.
All I need to say is I got a 30 min ban for spawning outside the map dead 3 or 4 times in a row thanks to 343s stupidity. Link is at the bottom if anyone wants to witness the stupidity for themselves. I would appreciate Achilles helmet and armor for the inconvenience you have caused me.Thank you,

I’ve been trying to fix my internet recently because I’ve been lagging out games on the regular basis. I got banned yesterday because I lagged out of too many games. Are there any solution you have to fix my net settings? I disconnected from games when my team was about to win so it doesn’t make sense for me to leave intentionally. Do these bans stack up against me? What if my internet keep acting up?

At best they’d do it out of goodwill.
At worst they’ll ignore the glitch.
Realistically all they’ll do is fix the map spawn.
Perhaps reset anyone’s ban record for those who can prove they got banned because of it.

I don’t know what setup you have, but here are a few short simple ones:
-Wire instead of wireless
-Forward Ports on Router for Xbox Live
-Open NAT, or put the console in a DMZ on the router, bypassing the NAT
-When you play, make sure no one else is hogging up all the bandwidth with any streaming service, heavy downloads or what else they can be doing
If this doesn’t help, contact your ISP, Internet Service Provider about the issue.
If that doesn’t help, it may likely be i343’s servers, or an unlucky combination of ISP and their servers. I think it was Warner Bro’s ISP, or whatever it was called, had issues at Halo 5’s launch, with Microsoft servers for XBL usage.
Well, the banhammer is said to look for certain behaviour. I’d imagine that if you quit a lot in certain situations, like having quite a few more deaths than kills and then quitting, would weigh more towards a ban than a disconnect at the end of a match that you’re winning. However, if you start disconnecting like crazy, it’ll most likely take action regardless of stats.
