I have played H5 since launch and have just received my first ban ever. That said after all this time I’m pretty suprised and confused that I actually got a ban.
I matched a good team in shotty snipes and got destroyed so I quit AFTER a teammate had already quit because the game was no longer enjoyable or winnable.
The same scenario played out again 2 games later and I got a 10 minute cooldown for quitting “too many matches” apparently.
How did I get a ban from quitting in social after a teammate already quit?
If this had been in ranked I would only have lost a normal amount of CSR for a loss. No -30 CSR or ban.
Can someone explain the logic behind why I would get a ban from quitting after a teammate?
It’s only a 10 minute ban and nothing in the grand scheme but I don’t want to get another one so I’d appreciate it if someone can explain

In Ranked the system doesn’t ban flag you for quitting out of a match someone leaves because now the match is effectively not playable anymore and there’s no join in progress to fill that slot again.
In social, if a teammate quits, that slot will shortly be refilled again and the match continues like normal. But if you also quit, then you are forcing your team to wait even longer to get back up to strength, and also making it a more degenerate game in general for the other 9 people in the match (including the one who JIPs in to a 4v5 because you quit).

Thanks for the explanation. I didn’t realize there was a separate system for social.
My game kept crashing and lagging like crazy so I had to leave a few matches which for so reason resulted in a ban from social arena matchmaking even though my game was lagging and crashing so what do I do?

Fix what was causing the problem while waiting for the ban to lift.
When you leave games like that, it still ruins the game for 7+ other people, and it’s better that you not play until it’s fixed.

i got back on yestrday around 5 or 6 and it was working again
I was banned for “grieving” but why? I was using a secret teleporter, is that why? I in no way hurt my teammates or the other players… I also used the invisible sword…map-hellfire

I have a problem right now. I have a pretty standard internet connection, but sometimes it lags out and disconnects for a couple seconds.
Consequently, I get banned. I just recently started playing again so this is really frustrating because its so much fun, and I can’t play for more than one match or two at a time. I understand a ban for repetitive leaving, but I’m not leaving the game! I’m being booted.
In any other game I play, it keeps me in lobby, in character and reconnects immediately, but with the ban hammer has me at 9 hours now!
This is nuts

Yeah, I got banned a few months ago for quitting out of 2 or 3 profoundly imbalanced matches too close together, which lasted 10 minutes. Another ban from bad connection and a power outage only lasted like 8 minutes when I logged back on, so it seems to be pretty balanced and proportionate, and maybe decreasing if you play like a good sport for a long time. Is there any way to view a person’s own ban history, out of curiosity?

It takes a fairly extensive pattern of quitting to get banned. Quitting a single match (or two) won’t do it by itself.

I’ll see if I can find that set of games and how many DNF’s I got. Maybe I’m remembering through rose-coloured glasses? I feel bad now.
