You are Idling out of games which will get you a ban which will eventually hit 1 week, and an Enforcement Team investigation that will get you banned for 2 months.

Do not idle, it ruins the game for your teammates.

Is their a certain reason why it got changed from 14 days, to 66 days for idling? I twas just wondering.

This is none of your business. Each case is different.

You could’ve said that in a nicer way, all I was wondering is if that’s the start out ban time now, but I get that it is none of my business.

How can I know how long I have been banned for ? I can’t join any game type and there is no ban timer.

What does the game tell you when you try to enter a matchmaking playlist?

Issue resolved

Literally just had this same issue. Super annoying. I haven’t played in over a week, I play a couple of hours tonight without quitting or getting lagged out and then I lag out of one game and get banned. WTF?

Hello.
I just logged on and received the ban message. I dont know why as I rarely leave matches prematurely and I have not ever team killed to my knowledge. Can someone tell my why I have a ban?

Why was I banned?

I forgot to back out after a game before going to a different screen and when I came back to halo I was banhammered for going idle. Funny how fast you can get banned for for forgetting to back out but, it takes forever to get banned if you’re a quitter.

Idling is arguably worse than quitting since idlers potentially feed free kills to the enemy team while simultaneously taking away offensive power from their own team.

But the severity of idling vs quitting aside, it takes a full 3 min to get booted for idling in a game of Halo 5, so it’s not all that fast. Alot can happen in 3 min of a match. You shouldn’t be thinking about bans in terms of what offense is worse; just don’t do any of those things that risk bans. Don’t quit, don’t idle, don’t betray, don’t suicide, don’t grief. If you forget and “accidentally” do one of those things and get a temporary ban, just take the licks and don’t do it again next time.

I quit a game because the rest of my team quit so it was 4v1 slayer and the game was just starting, so I didn’t want to waste 12 minutes getting demolished. I used to have crappy internet several years ago and get banned occasionally for my connection dropping, but now I only ever leave games if my whole team quits (which I don’t think should count against me) and even that I don’t do very often.

I am wondering what u can do appeal my ban or at least the length. I let my son play on my account ( he is just starting) and I come back to a 19 day ban after I get home from work today.

You can’t I’m afraid, per the first post

> If this is indeed the case, we do understand your frustration. However, it is your sole responsibility to keep your account information secure and not share it with others who would abuse it. We have no way of detecting who is playing with your account, and if your gamertag is caught making naughty, you will be banned. Those are the rules.

I kind of agree. It’s my Xbox at home while I am at work. They can look at my history and see I am a level 148 almost 149. And played every dang min of the thousands of hours well around 1000. It is stupid obvious that this is not normal behavior for my account. Trust and believe that he has been punished for this. Also locked down the Xbox

The power hungry mods who ban people on first offenses should be replaced. I caught a 200 day ban for AFKing firefight. Clearly AFKing is wrong, no doubt about that, but to ban a player for 200 days on their FIRST offense is overkill. The Halo 5 population is already struggling and there is hardly any competitive scene anyway. The last thing the mods should be doing is eliminating players entirely. Perhaps 343 should reconsider the people in charge of the banning players. Just bought a gaming pc, steam it is  CS:GO LETSSSS GOOO!!!

343 employees are the only people who can ban you in the game besides Xbox Live and it was likely an automated ban.

Though the banning system is still power hungry since it’s in the cloud and needs … power …
