I’m looking for help. Plugged in my Xbox 360 after a year and put on halo 5 and I see that I’m banned from all the multi games. I can remember getting banned before I stopped playing I suppose. But wonder why it hasn’t gone away
I love it. Teammates in ranked shooting me in the back because they’re trying to derank. I quit, 5 minute ban. Next game, teamed with kids that betray for power weapons and then die and give them to the enemy, I quit, 10 minute ban. You would have to be a complete idiot to expect me to stay in games where kids quit out, derank, betray, etc… That isnt what i spent $60 for.
Either overhaul the banhammer or get rid of it permanently, because it isnt helping matchmaking at all, just inconveniencing people that gave you their hard earned money to play legit matches. I’m at the point where if i take another ban for refusing to stay in a game where people are betraying, one shotting me, half my team quits, etc… that I’m going to hit up Microsoft for a full refund. And the lack of appeal process is straight trash, just like your automated system. That is how you destroy a community, not how you build / rebuild one.

Do you really experience this? Honestly in ranked arena i have only experienced persistent team killers once, even the enemy team wouldnt kill them!
Im more bothered about lag and teams of smurfs… unable to win due to blank shots/teleporting and dealing with full teams of onyx level smurfs… the golds and plats on my team get slapped around hard. But definitely agree the ban system should be changed. I’m all for the 10 minute ban, 30 mins too. Not an hour +

The banhammer is perfect, anyone who questions it’s authority needs to be more constructive.

I don’t even pay them any mind anymore, I’ve seen so many smurfs in the past decade, that it’s just second nature to me 
I hope 343 realize that banning is only fair for cheaters.while some players are pleased, this current ban system is designed to aggitate too many other halo players. The game should be enjoyabe for everyone and not just ones with a certain MLG skill. There is too much concern about how well and consistant we play this game and less concern about structuring the game from feedback and satisfaction among all players. Im afraid one of my most favorite games of all time is headed for self destruction by pleasing a view with a narrow perspective. When i did play halo5 i felt trapped in an obligation. If the session is bad, boring or too easy/difficult im trapped, if wife calls, need bathroom break, son burning something in the kitchen im trapped. This just spoils entertainment for me. Now im sure those who love the ban system has their gaming chair, headset and face glued to the game tv at all times but im just a couch gamer and no plans to change much from that anytime soon; and if i choose to put the remote down or play at any given time it is my choice.

Yeah man, I mean back in the day when people got caught standbying, and modding, they got their account banned, most of the time a 48hr account anyway. Now, to be banned for what’s concidered an offense, with no warning, 14 days, for things such as idling, that’s just silly talk it seems to me. Take what I say with a grain of salt, because my opinion is “moot”. I just don’t understand today’s people in gaming, they tattle, and report people like a bunch of Pre-K kids. I may be the weird one, idk, but ill never snitch on someone for something in game. I have managed to somehow go up to Diamond 4 in snipers today, from Diamond 1 BY MYSELF in a Party Neighborhood Watchers. I hope this is acceptable, I’m just out here trying to be super constructive.
UPDATE- I am currently at Onyx 1535, once again, by myself noone in my party. Let’s hope tomorrow I don’t have a bad Halo day 
My controller died and I got the banhammer for idling. I’m deeply sorry that I wasn’t fast enough. How do I appeal to a higher court?

There is no appeals process for these bans, just a case of waiting it out
I literally just started play halo 5 today for less than an hour. I quit twice to try and join friends and now I am permanently banned. What the heck? There is no countdown timer, just says I am banned from matchmaking. Some grade A BS. You guys need to fix this ASAP

You won’t have been permenantly banned for quitting out of 2 games, especially if this is your first time playing. There is usually a screen that pops up as soon as your are banned that tells you the length of time and first time bans are only a few minutes. It’s possible that you dismissed this by accident before reading. By the time you read this your ban should have expired, you can hard reset your console to make sure.
I was just banned for throwing a promethean grenade and killing an enemy then 2 teammates walked into it and then I get banned
Can I please be unbanned??

There’s a 343 guy who reckons the ban hammer is the best piece of manipulation “AI” code he’s seen.
Maybe he hasn’t done much work in the real world. Or maybe he’s just not very good and that’s why he’s working for 343 and not Google.
I was banned this morning and I didn’t have a duration or anything I could see in game that would indicate how long the ban would be for. The only message I got was that I was banned for grieving which is definitely not the case and was not intentional if someone took it that way.
Ive been banned with no explanation. I just started playing again after almost 4 years. I dont cheat, mod, or anything. I dont quit out of matches and i dont idle. Im kind of frustrated that this has happened less than a week of starting to play again and I dont have any reason that I know of without some kind of explanation. I just launch the game, play, and turn it off. I have checked my emails and notifications and nothing is there. Ive never received a notice or anything for any kind of misconduct. There is no ban timer or explanation like it said further up in the thread. I just want to play halo with my buddies again to get ready for the new release. HELP!?

You joined a FireTeam with a player that had an intentionally deranked account. Playing with deranked players gives the same ban as the deranker.

thank you but i didn’t know. i’ve played normally with this person, i didn’t know that its account was “deranked”. i normally play all days and i’ve always respected the rules. i didn’t know about that account, it’s not my fault. can you solve this please? thanks.
