> I’m confused as to why this system is actually in place. Sure I get that this inevitably lightens the load on the super duper awesome dedicated servers that work so well (heavy sarcasm intended), but it seems the vast majority of normal players can’t even get into a game with no lag. When you join a game and can’t even shoot half the enemy team because their characters are constantly skipping around, what else are you supposed to do? Take the loss? Lose every game because of latency? Or take the more reasonable route and just quit out and find a new game? Oh but wait you can’t do that, quit out of 2 games and you’re banned.
>
> Halo 5 multiplayer literally seems as if it was made to push players away more than add to what was once a thriving community. I started playing when halo 2 was first released and got hooked, and don’t even get me started on halo 3. Those were the games that offered quality matchmaking, but now it seems to be more of an exclusive few who have the privilege of playing matchmade games with low latency, equal skill matching, and not being banned. I have trouble even finding anybody in my local community anymore that still plays Halo for these reasons.

Amen

How the -Yoink- can you penalize me for 9 hours when all 3 of my teammates leave the match in the first 2 minutes and i just stand in spawn waiting for the game to end. If i leave i’d get penalized anyway and there’s no point running around. stupid af

If you were in a ranked game and one of your teammates has already quit you aren’t subject to bans for quitting. That being said Idling is always going to get you a ban and a quit/dnf will only net you a ban if you have a history of doing it regularly or are showing a pattern of the behavior. In order to get a 9 hour ban you would have had to have been banned a number of times prior.

I counted 44 dnfs in the last 30 days alone so he could easily be getting a 9 hour ban. Bans increase in time every time they happen.

Then you have to accept the consequences.

Don’t mean to correct anybody, but when i’ve seen my friend get banned for repeatedly commiting suicide it took 6 suicides for him to be kicked and banned. But that happened more than a year ago so I don’t really know if they lowered the threshold.

Banned for being idle sorry I have a life outside of video games 343,besides you destroyed the halo franchise. Notice how only 343 indestries has a ban hammer #IwantBungieback

Lol, this banhammer is the same as previous Halos

I was just banned for suciding 3 times but I didn’t suicide I have the replay saved…I was using arclight and killed an enemy then I ran back to the same spot and died two more times to the same explosion that somehow kept happening idk how to explain it but it was impossible to do.

Unfortunately the banhammer cannot tell whether you did it by accident or on purpose so they are both treated equally. It is usually a very short ban.

A friend of mine on a previous match on super fiesta was accidentally walking off the egde trying to get to areas to kill others and got banned screw your auto ban bot

A friend of mine on a previous match on super fiesta was accidentally walking off the egde trying to get to areas to kill others and got banned screw your auto ban bot

Was just banned, just finished downloading today, played 2 games, quit the first one, finished the second and was banned. Above states would not be banned for quitting once, but was banned. Why?

If you ever play arena then you gotta know team mates quit left and right. I think it sucks that even though I report quitters, nothin happens to them. Personally, I try not to quit ever. It leaves your team in a bad way and like I said, nothin happens to them. The irony in this is although I never quit, I just got the BANHAMMER because even though I turned off my controller, I forgot to back out during intermission when i had to take a leak. So my question is how is going idle in one game get you banned but quitting during a game doesn’t. Them some pretty -Yoink- backwards rules if you ask me. So to all you quitters out there, no need to worry, just don’t let yourself go idle.:fire::angry::fire:

Excessive suicides have been used as a method of griefing in the past. "Your friend’ would have had to suicide several times in a relatively short amount of time to trigger a griefing boot and ban. If it was truly a series of bad luck it’s unfortunate, but it’s one of those cases where to get to the people griefing a few people get inconvenienced.

Quitters get banned. There is a soft exemption for ranked matches where if someone is the second or later quit on a team they don’t have it count against them. The intial. quitter (and quitters outside of ranked matches get banned.) So do idlers. Anyone who makes breaks the rules of matchmaking can get banned.

You guys don’t get it. Short ban or not. We see it as getting the shaft while buttheads who quit for a living get away with it. I message people when they quit. Nothing happens to them. They laugh, they’re playing in the next game. Nothing is imediate for these guys. Fall off the map a coupleof times in a game, banhammer, go idle in a game, banhammer, but if you quit, you can laugh all the way to the next game. I HAVE PLAYED WITH PEOPLE WHO QUIT ALL THE TIME AND IT TAKES FOREVER FOR THEM TO GET BANHAMMERED. It’s just not right.:fire::angry::fire:
