It didn’t give me the option to kick them, so I had to betray them so I could just play the game. I killed 2 people and got kicked and banned. It really makes NO sense at all how they get off without any punishment and I get banned.

> > Firstly, I would say that you should never stoop to the level of griefers in any situation. 2 wrongs don’t make a right, and all that. If you betray in retaliation for getting betrayed, you still are betraying and therefore are opening yourself up to the consequences. In situations like this, the best thing to do is ride it out, try to play normally, and do your best to ignore them until the end of the match. Then, after the match, report them. If it’s super unbearable, I suppose you could quit, but that risks getting you banned, too.
> >
> > Secondly, how were your teammates killing you? Was it one teammate? All of them? How often were you getting betrayed? Did they simply damage you and let an enemy finish you off? Was this in Warzone, and you were getting splattered? If you betrayed 2 people, that probably means that at least 2 of them were antagonizing you. They could have been pacing how often they betrayed you to avoid getting detected by the system, and baiting you to retaliate. It sucks when allies do this, especially if they are doing it in a way that gets around the banhammer, but still you should never betray back, because it’s still wrong, and they were probably trying to goad you into doing that anyway, so by doing it you gave them exactly what they wanted.
>
> While I would normally agree with you, this was breakout. I was getting gunned down EVERY round, and while they were winning most of them, I wasn’t playing at all. It was a party of 3, so I was the odd man out. They would take turns betraying me (to avoid the banhammer). 5 rounds of being betrayed twice by each person except the last one. They weren’t even letting the enemy finish me off, they would Spartan charge and shotgun me in the back at the beginning of the round. It was either kill or be killed. I guess what I’m REALLY upset about is the fact that they were given the option to kick me after 2 offenses when they themselves had each killed me twice (except for the last guy, who only killed me once), as well as the fact that I was banned immediately after getting kicked.
Yeah, since they took turns killing you they spaced out the time between when each person got a betrayal, so none of them ever individually got two betrayals close enough together to trigger a boot. It’s an unfortunate oversight that these kinds of players purposefully look for so they can grief without consequence. It does suck, but I doubt there is anything that can be done to the game to change that oversight at this point. Again, in the future, don’t betray back. Just stand still and let them kill you if it makes the game end faster. Get through it without giving in to your anger, then report them after. And also, forming a fire team beforehand will help prevent getting matched with randoms who end up griefing you.
Just wanna comment how the game is going downhill for me because of bans. Second time Im banned because of leaving numerous 1 v 4 matches. Or the game forcing me to enter a match that is already lost (loosing 6-30 or something like that) 343 should fix matchmaking first and then start banning. Or do they spect me to be a punching bag for up to 12 minutes?
The ranking system too, one day I was playing ranked and early on the game I was 1 v 4. Knowing I could get baned I played to the end. I lost by one 49-50, but of course died a lot(I have a picture of this) . The ranking systems had 0 consideration of me playing 1v4 and punished me for dying. Does 343 spect me to play against the 4 of them and at the same time perform well? After that I just quit in those situations, its healthier to the ranking, but now im baned - .-
Its just the second time so its 10 minutes but it will only keep growing.

If you’re the first to quit a ranked match, you are hit with a quit penalty. After one person leaves, you can leave and only take the CSR hit equivalent to a loss. You don’t be subject to a quit ban.
When you quit in social, you are always subject to a quit ban. It sounds like you’re a habitual quitter. The quit bans are in place to deter people who routinely quit from ruining the game for everyone else in the lobby.

I didnt know about the first part of your coment, I will have it in mind next time. Thanks for the info. Still think, even without the ban risk its unfair that if I stay in an unbalanced ranked match my ranking will be most likely puniched a lot, and If I live it will too. But that is a topic from an other thread
About the second part I disagree, Im not an “abitual quitter” Im lvl 144 have beeing playing for more than a year, and last month was my first ban. Is the current state of the game what forces me to quit. Whit matchmaking the way it is now the game is allready ruined before I even join. I play halo 5 for fun, not to be a punching bag for 4 other players, or wait until my team unevitable demise because I was forced to enter a game that is already lost, with power weapons taken and powerups spawns missed, wish ruins the core of what a halo game is: fair starts.
I agree with baning people who ruin the game, banning the player that left in the first place and doomed the match for others, but dont force me to fill the hole that player left against my will or punish me as if I was the one who ruined the match.
Is a very bad way of handling the lack of a big enough player base to make a decent matchmaking. It will only make more people leave.

Funny thing is, you lose more rank for quitting than you do for losing. When you quit a ranked match, you lose 30 CSR. If you just lose the match, your CSR goes down by only 15 instead.
Also, the system does take into account when other people quit, so if you end up in a 1v4 situation, it knows that and while your rank may take a -15 hit, your skill won’t go down that much, so you’ll likely make up that rank again over the next few games.
But your situation seems to be geared more towards social, since you are talking about JIP and getting banned for leaving 1v4 games. Even though social doesn’t have ranks, people still want to play social without worrying about quitters and griefers and such; that’s why the matchmaking rules apply to social, too. Stick it out. I always found that finishing a JIP match would lead to my next match starting fresh. Of course quitting will get worse so long as everyone has this mentality of “if other people quit, I’ll quit too”. Break the cycle.

Banned for idling 1 game. Dear 343 I won’t buy another game from you. You have ruined the franchise. You are the worst. I hope Microsoft runs you into the ground.

Who cares if someone quits. The lobby is there to fill the spot and it does just fine. Why would you want someone to be on the team that is distracted anyway. There’s no reason for bans. It’s ludicrous. Being banned after 1 game of not moving while taking a phone call is simply ridiculous.

You have to quit/idle boot out of multiple games within a period of time to get banned.
I was banned from a super fiesta map for dying 3 times from suicide because I accidentally fell into the green pits below (forgot the name of the map)
This is only my second ban from the time I played.

People would use suicides as a form of greifing. So it is one of the things the system looks for. I would suggest being a little more careful while playing.
I just started playing 3 days ago and have gotten banned 4 times.I have no idea why. This last one is 5 hours.I am really irritated and might just throw this game in the trash.I can’t believe the current owner of the Halo franchise screwed it up so much that it’s completely unplayable.

https://youtu.be/FRb9KzII1m4You were banned for not playing. You also have quite a few dnfs. Don’t idle during your matches (actually play) and finish your matches and you won’t get banned.
Today I got banned for falling of a map in Super Fiesta. There was a narrow bridge that was unavoidable to not fall. My friend also died because of it but didn’t get banned. I’m just confused on why I was banned?

I was banned for an entire day. This was after I was kicked out of several games in a row because of waypoint server issues. I know this because after being dropped from the game the screen said, “You have been dropped from the game due to a Halo server issue” I then missed the first 30 seconds of a game while trying to send a message to another player explaining how my other players probably abandoned me in my last game due to Halo waypoint server issues as well. I then noticed I was in a new game that loaded in seconds verses the usual couple of minutes. Just as I started to play I was immediately dropped from the game and banned for 20 hours. I am a very responsible player and now realize the banhammer does have issues. If Halo drops me from a game because of its server issue, it appears it counts against me as a game deserter and weighs negatively when calculating if I should be banned from playing.

I have not seen any reports on server issues lately. However, if you are having connection issues on your end you will get that same message. If your xbox is connected wireless then you will have those issues.
I just picked up a ban playing on Vikings yes it was all accidental and they all kept running left on the cave I was shooting I was in The Wraith I splashed them they died somehow I killed three of my teammates with the Gauss gun not my fault not a team killer check the replay
Banned for falling off the map 3 times on super fiesta. First time ever being banned, only bought the game to play multiplayer with my friends and family. Think this is pretty ridiculous to say the least. Wasted money.
