I personally think it’s stupid you get banned for committing suicide during a frustrating match where you can’t buy a kill. I’m sorry for “ruining the fun of others” when I wasn’t exactly having the most fun going 6 kills and 20 some deaths in free for all.
Banned for quitting. I thought if your teammates quit all ready it was now fine? I mean what the hell, I was 4v1 score 22 to 8, 6 of those kills being mine. I give it a go but after getting swarmed 4 times in a row and knowing I hate playing hide and seek on the other end I cut that team a break and quit only to catch a 10 minute ban. Guess no more quits, hope you all like playing hide and seek and not Halo 5.

That may apply only to ranked matches. In social, JIP is available to replace a player that leaves. Although, TBH, that’s broken as well. I have noticed that if your team is losing by very much, or maybe based on time, you don’t get another teamate. I have been 2v4 and winning and we didn’t get replacement players.

My son has been using my acct to play halo 5 but keeps getting a message saying a team player has been banned. How do I find out if its him or someone else?

I have an original Xbox One, and I tried THREE MAYBE FOUR times to play in a multiplayer match (1 ranked Slayer, 2-3 QUICKPLAY) and after I finally got my xbox to power back on it told me multiplayer services weren’t available and I have a red 1 next to my gamer-tag like wtf!?

It’s an automated system. It doesn’t care why you left the match, only that you left the match. In your case you have less than 150 matches played and 17 DNF’s I.E. over 10 percent. I find it a bit incredulous that everyone of those was a ‘game crash.’
They need to fix ranked getting ppl that don’t play so when u leave the game because it pointless u get banned , halo 5 needs to fix their game before banning everyone who leaves a game maybe there team not playing or helping in a ranked game so yeah , fix your game halo

You only get penalized if you’re the first one to quit, if you leave after somebody else has already quit then don’t suffer the same consequences. If a player is simply idling through matches, they will eventually get punished for it

So I see that your last game yesterday was a DNF, and your most recent game today is also a DNF. So those DNFs suggest you got booted for something; probably idling. Comedic Hermit may be able to view your games to see if you did in fact idle for the 3 minutes necessary to get kicked.

You were idling. Don’t idle and it won’t be an issue.

I am getting banned for not quitting the game completey. This is the 3rd time in a week that the games considered me idle while im at the main menu. I just finished a game, went to the menu and then watched a movie. Came back on and it says I’m banned for being idle …?

I just bought this game again about a month ago. am I doing something wrong here bungie? If not I am done with this company cause there’s no reasoning I keep getting these bans.

If it is your first ban it should be short. Initial bans are short and get progressively longer (roughly doubling with each new offense.) That being said, the ban length is displayed with your initial ‘ban hammer strikes’ message. It is unfortunately the only time the message is displayed. If you hard reset your console and restart the game it may cause send the message again if your ban isn’t already over.
