My son’s controller needed a change of battery and he got a ban…explain please…

After a very long time away from halo, we are back. I’m talking we haven’t played online since the 1st halo.
Please educate me - when it is acceptable to leave a game without getting banned? During the intermission? Immediately following the end with stats? BF thinks he got banned for leaving during the intermission. That doesn’t sound right. Can someone explain the rules on leaving?

Your account has several unfinished games in its games history, that can result in a ban.

You can leave the game after the stats screen without getting an unfinished game in your game history.
Not sure if leaving the game during the black screen after the match counts as an unifinished game.
Hey. This is my first ban of any sort. 5+ hours? I have played a few matches and I havent had any issues. I DNF a game yes but 5 hours? Is this a joke?

Initial bans are only a few minutes in length. Are you certain you’ve been banned and that there isn’t something else going on? Did you receive a ‘banhammer strikes’ message? What does it say when you attempt to enter matchmaking? Have you tried a hard reset? Have you done something on another account that would be expected to get a longer ban?
I have played hours of games and have not idled or quit nor betrayed in any of them. But I idle one game and get a 15 minute ban? Very poor experience from a game considering the several games I play while some one is idling or betraying during a game. Quitting is a huge problem but the wrong gamers are being punished for it. My gamer tag is TechBuilding, and my email is Redacted I would like to be contacted from a representative about my issue.

I went ahead and redacted your e-mail address. It isn’t wise to put that stuff out there. If you admit you were idling and you were banned I don’t see the issue. I’d also point out that you have DNFS for 3 out of your last 10 matches…

I put my email so I can see the proof. I play this game for hours at a time without any disconnects. And I also get disconnected due to server issues. Which has not happened at all in weeks. I would like to know where I can access my past game finishes. I can prove via films the last ten matches I have played through to the end

Yeah, I redacted your e-mail for a reason.
Click on your profile. Go to your service record. Select Halo 5. Select Game history.
Disconnects still count towards the wrath of the banhammer.

Thank you for directing me. Out of 100 games I have dnf less than 10% of the time. Even if you included the one from today. Furthermore there is no trace of a “pattern” at all. Thirdly never a back to back dnf. Fourth you guys already know all disconnects even from halos own servers result in a bad repercussion for gamers. That said I still stand behind the fact that although you guys are trying to rid yourselves of rage quitting gamers like me are suffering from the bad seeds and the games inconsistent servers.

Furthermore from March 14,2018 to April 3 2018 there was not one disconnect. Does that not show a pattern of not quitting?

Seems to be accurate. Punishing everyone for those gamers who decide to quit frequently. Y’all can keep the van hammer and you guys posting rules. I’ve never posted before today and I won’t be in the future. Couldn’t wait to tell me about a rule lol smh. Gamers
Techbuilding - Please don’t post multiple times in a row, thanks. You can edit your last post to add more information

You’re welcome. Please heed stickr’s direction in the future as well. (He beat me to the punch on that.)
> Out of 100 games I have dnf less than 10% of the time. Even if you included the one from today.
A: You admitted to idling. That was what you were banned for.
B: 10% is a pretty excessive amount of DNFs.
> Furthermore there is no trace of a “pattern” at all.4
The system is automated. Simply put if it detects wrong doing, you’ve done something wrong.
> Thirdly never a back to back dnf. Fourth you guys already know all disconnects even from halos own servers result in a bad repercussion for gamers. You’re suffering because you were idle during a match. Also whether it was a disconnect (intentional or not) it still has the same effect on the other people in the match.

So you didn’t do something you’re not supposed to do for a few weeks and you want credit for it? That doesn’t take away the times you did have a DNF.
> 2535411083146075;4959:

Being rightfully banned for something you admitted to doing isn’t a customer service issue.
2 DNF in 3 days…24 hr ban…nice

You have a lot of DNF’s on your record including three DNF’s in a row. To get a 24 hour ban, you must have been banned before many times. Maybe you should change the way you play, to prevent them.
For sure! Only play at night when kids go to bed, not just for naps! TY
Not sure why I was banned? How do I find out?
Thank you to anyone for responding?
This is my wife’s account. for

You can check your game history here on Waypoint, under the section profile,Halo5, game history.
I can see several DNFs,thats enough to trigger a ban.
