They do that to everyone, because that’s how they show you that you were banned for a reason.

Why would you claim you were banned for no reason in the first place? This thread was created so that people could ask question about the ban system (and what we’ve surmised about it.) The most common one is people wanting to know why they were banned. We also get a lot of people who deny they engaged in the behavior for which they were banned this thread allows members of the community to keep those people honest.

If you missed the initial ban message that pops up when a ban first activates, then you missed the timer and have no way of telling how long your ban will last. Quitting matches definitely can get you a ban, though, so if you really have quit a lot of matches then that could be the cause. There is no way to appeal a Halo 5 ban; the system is automatic.
Some questions that may help determine the length of your ban: have you ever been banned in Halo 5 before? If so, how many times? What was the duration of your last ban?
Generally first bans are not that long; <1 hour. Subsequent bans get longer, so if you’ve been banned many times before you could expect to get really long bans, like 9 hours or more. Permanent bans are only applied for the most egregious infractions, like cheating or manipulating the matchmaking system.

More than likely you were banned for quitting, I counted 88 Dnf’s out of your 307 games played.

Hey, I am still banned more than 24 hours later, and I havent quit any games recently, havent done player disrespect or hacked or cheated that I am aware of, Could you look more in to this?

Hello all, I would like to say that I literally got banned because I kept getting disconnected from the servers. I only play the Halo 3 Classic throwback playlist, What happens is that everytime my team is winning I get disconnected from the match but if my team loses then the game is fine. I even have proof! its in my past broadcasts of my stream. I just play solo an do have great internet for the fact that i’m able to play other games fine without any problems.

I had a similar issue. This is about the 5th time it happened: the have says “you have been banned for leaving too many games” but I have not left any. Today I only left one game to join a friend in his, but I have received this message on days where I have not left at all. This is a serious issue to me because it constantly and the times keep increasing. At the moment I’m not that mad, but if it continues I will make a big deal out of it as it is wasting alot if my time, and I am a patient guy but this is getting rediculous. I will gather proof and attach it if it happens again.

That’s why i stream lol, Even if no one watches me and if players come in and chat or wanna join me. either way it will be in my past broadcasts so i always have proof of what happened. I hope this gets resolved soon because I’m still banned currently.

You kind of contradict yourself there.

Your last two matches were DNFS and 15 out of your last 60 (about 25 %) are as well. The system will continue to ban you as long as you continue to leave matches at that rate. The bans tend to increase each time (usually doubling)

Hey, again, thanks for your help, my Xbox live gold expired like 2 days ago, and I don’t want to renew it for $10 until I know I am unbanned from halo 5 Multiplayer. Could you tell me how long the ban is after you have been banned for 2 hours? That was my last ban a while back. I also am wondering, I got on 2 days after my ban(recent) and I was still banned. So does that mean I got banned for something else? Idk, why I am banned. Could you look in to it please? Thanks so much for your help.
