If you received a ban then you would have had a message sent to your console (your screen would read “The banhammer strikes.”) stating the length of the ban and the reason for it. If it’s a two day or longer ban (and is for your entire console, not just your profile) than it is probably for something more sever than the normal matchmaking bans we deal with.

He’s a known smurfer who has been banned in the past. He has made videos about it.

Why is does griffball, of all gamemodes, ban you for accidental team betrayal? You know everyone has gravity hammers and the maps are relatively cramped towards the objective right?

Because at some point, it stops being an accident and starts being griefing. Even in Grifball, there need to be checks and balances to make sure players aren’t doing what they aren’t supposed to do. If you are accidentally betraying often enough in Grifball to get booted or banned, play more carefully.
Does this mean I am “console banned”? There is no banhammer message but, i cannot find a match in halo 5, I have tried multiple playlists, but it just searches and searches and then says unable to find other players. I cannot even find a match when I go on Halo MCC and try there. I can join games in custom browser but that’s it

If you were banned it would give you a message stating, "One or more members of your fireteam is banned from matchmaking.’ or something of that ilk when you try to join a playlist.
I just got banned for having to take a phone call in the middle of a game for idling. Seems a bit much can you help?

You have 4 DNFs in your last 20 games,thats enough to trigger a ban.

If you were banned from matchmaking via the Halo 5 system, it wouldn’t even let you enter match searching for the playlists.
The fact that you can enter matchmaking but can’t find a match immediately suggests to me that your have bad Xbox Live reputation. You should check your reputation on enforcement.xbox.com. If your reputation is in the red, it means Xbox Live will not match you with players who have normal, green reputation, which can affect your ability to find games.

You know you aren’t supposed to idle. If you leave the controller with no input for three minutes you will be booted and banned. I’m not sure what you’re looking for.
