Banning is a necessary evil but i think players should be given a warning not just immediately banned.
Iām getting 6+ hour bans for quitting a single match, since iāve accumulated enough to be a problem i guess.
i play FFA and social playlists almost exclusively, and donāt have time for warzone matches usually since iām taking care of a baby.
FFA leaves really do not seem to affect game quality, and i regularly see matches end with 4 players, but thatās a different issue.
can social playlists get banned separately? FFS iām locked out of fiesta and grifball for more time than iām ever able to play them
Iām almost done with halo altogether. Iām tired of getting banned. I donāt quit games often. Grifball is the just about the only playlist I quit. And that is when someone is camping the spawns. And I get a nine hour ban. For quitting. Maybe If it was betrayals I would understand. But no. Maybe give a warning. Or a three quit limit a day before the ban. You have several dnfs in history, I believe the ban system takes into account how many priors and thus 1 dnf in the future might trigger a ban.
I find myself having to go through all these match historys to see which banned players actually had odd bans. This isnāt to say I agree with the ban system. I agree there needs to be a ban system for leavers (Iāve had too many ranked swat games where I was the only one left, ruining kda and wasting time). However, I think that the current system is too severe/inconsistent. (I had 1 dc and 1 dnf from social ctf and was banned, my friend has 6 dnfs and hasnāt been banned once).
The no reset on the bans and the longer and longer bans really ruin the fun. Halo has also always been a game where accidental suicides, and betrayals happen. Iām not sure how the system is differentiating between accidents and intentional, but Iām not entirely too sure its effective. In a post 343 said the system looks for patterns, but what if it happens every once in awhile because the player plays alot of big team battle? or Fiesta? Accidental Vehicle team kills and accidental fiesta power weapon betrayals are more common. āEvery once in awhileā can look like a pattern depending on how the spread is viewed. This applies to accidental suicides. With maps like pegasus having the promethean grenades on a ledge, and maps like coliseum where you can boost off, I feel as though these accidents can eventually also look like a pattern.
Anyway, I hope more people post complains about the ban system being too severe, or more posts with inconsistent/odd bans, rather than posting about why they were banned when someone can simply point to the several prior ban-able behaviors stacked up in the match history.

I made a post where I lost my -Yoink- for getting banned after quitting for having an annoying amount of lag, but its not for one game, multiplayer in general is pretty much unplayable for me, so I canāt enjoy the game due to lag and on top of that I get banned and mods and user here act like theyāve never lost their -Yoink-, that is hypocritic if you ask me. Yes I did wrong, yes lock my thread and gimme a warning, I understand, but at least try to empathize with the user, donāt tell someone who is frustrated to calm the -Yoink- down and deal with it, that has never worked in the history of human kind. We are customers, we should get some attention, not a kick in the balls for buying this game.
And how much bandwidth do we need to get a decent connection? 100mbps? symmetrical? dedicated?
I have around 3mbps upload 12mbps download, decent 5 ping from here to my ISP servers or maybe the servers are too far from my location and lose a lot of packets I dunno. Is my internet plan too crappy?

Yes. Iād recommend a 20mbps download at the minimum. 40 and up should give you the best quality.

If you read my comment before the snarky reply you gave me. I admitted to quitting and I said I should have been banned and didnāt want to quit again to just get banned for longer. I was asking why the game is banning me for quitting a social game which has join in progress? I had to take a call so quit because I knew someeone else would join in my place. I honestly did not know I would get banned for that. Whatās the point in the join in progress if people get banned? To me that is sending mixed signals.
I got banned. Didnāt check the time so Iām gonna assume itās permanent and go play other things.

Social playlists arenāt social because quitting is less problematic to the game. Social playlists just offer players a chance to play without stressing about managing a rank. Quitting in social games still upsets team balance, even if only for a moment or two. And a new player joining the in-progress game you left isnāt guaranteed. I think your particular case is because you already had quits from the ranked playlists that built a case against you. Had you not had those, quitting a social game may not have gotten you a ban.

I got banned last night for āQuitting too many gamesāā¦ Even though there was a server issue.
Idk if this is just me, but occasionally, I randomly disconnect from a multiplayer game. I never lose wifi connection in the process as I can immediately join a new game. This has happened enough times to get me banned for a few hours in the past.

Iāve stopped quitting games and I always thought that if I lose more games, the ban would be reduced and wonāt happen often.
