According to the terms of service, you are responsible for your internet. They won’t make exceptions even if that is all that is available to you.
Matchmaking bans in Halo 5 are way too harsh.
6 hour+ ban because I’ve quit three games:
- Two of the games, two of my team left early in the match; I don’t want to waste my time getting dicked on by the four on the other team for 12 minutes, ruining my already bad K/D even more.
- One of the games was clearly a mismatch in skill wherein my own team were even starting to give abuse because of how bad I was compared to the other players. I’m sick of being matchmade against people who are just ridiculously better than me.Why doesn’t the game matchmake me against people that are as bad as me at Halo 5? They obviously exist because I’ve been in a lot of matches which were very fair and we were all as bad at each other.
In the last 80 games I’ve had, I’ve quit at most 8 games. Even though the sample size is small, let’s say my quit rate is currently 10%. This isn’t even that high, and if you actually think about why I’m quitting then I think it’s justified. I only ever quit games because I’ve disconnected, there’s a skill mismatch, or because most of team have already quit before me.
Seriously, I’d understand if I’d been banned for an hour or something, but 6 hours+ in any circumstance for something that isn’t abuse, cheating, or constant quitting is just ridiculous.
Please stop banning people for so long for quitting. I’d understand a (maximum) 1 hour cooldown, but you’ve ruined my Saturday by banning me for so long - I didn’t ruin someone’s Saturday by quitting a couple matches. You should use other methods such as making quitting count for 5 losses, 20 deaths, or even negative REQ points - stopping me from playing the game doesn’t stop me quitting when I’m being abused by my team or roflstomped by the other, it just pisses me off and stops me playing full stop.
What’s worse is that you don’t even give us a forfeit option. There’s times where the other team can go like 40-10 and it’s a clear mismatch in Skill and none of us playing want to carry on; but we can’t even agree to forfeit, you just penalize us all for not having fun.

I counted 6 DNFs in your last twenty games.
You shouldnt lie about that,makes our work easier if we know the truth from the beginning.
Also,an 10% rate is actualy pretty high.
Then,the ban time summes up,so you have already recived a few bans before that one.
The mismatch argument is invalid,but I can understand you,however,its no excuse for quitting.

I didn’t lie. As above. I’ve quit three games today. I’ve quit about 8 games in the last 80.
This also doesn’t account for a few times where my ISP have disconnected me to do maintenance or my internet has dropped.

Not when you’re a relatively new player with a game history of less than 200.
Also, I quit because two of my teammates left before I did – TWICE.
I quit one game because my own team were abusing me for being bad. Doesn’t seem very fair to then ban me for it.
Am I supposed to stick around when my team quit, I’m being verbally abused, or I’m getting roflstomped because of a clear mismatch? Of course not.

Why would I want to play a match where I’m playing someone who is like 100x better than me? That’s no fun for me. I want to play people who are as bad as I am - I don’t want to play against people 100x better than me because then it’s no fun. I play games for fun.

-Yoink- off. No I didn’t. Me leaving a game isn’t going to ruin someone’s Saturday because they can find another game, or they can leave the game themselves as well. They’ll have forgotten about me leaving and who I am after the next game. Has no effect on their Saturday enjoyment.
Additionally, a most of the games left have been in SOCIAL playlists - playlists which are designed purposely for casual play. You’re not a casual if your day is ruined by someone leaving. Stupid argument.
Also if you think an 8 hour ban is justified for quitting any amount of games, you’re just outright wrong.
There are better ways to punish quitting:

Reduced/Remove XP

Remove REQ/Lower REQ to negative points

Make excessive quitting add 10 losses, or 25 deaths, or something akin, to your service record
You should never ban someone for quitting… People quit games when they’re not having fun; they don’t do it to be malicious. The worst thing to do when people aren’t having much fun is to ban them - because then they’re having no fun.
Quitting in social playlists shouldn’t amount to anything more than a decreased matchmaking priority or a short (one hour maximum) ban for severe quitting. Social playlists are supposed to be completely casual so quitting shouldn’t really bother anyone. If you’re bothered then play ranked; which is more hardcore.
Banning should be used mainly to deal with abusive players, cheating, or severe quitting (like… literally quitting half your games constantly)

It doesnt matter how many games you left today,it matters how many games you left during an defined time,this time is not know to public,to prevent people from abusing it.

10%is an high percent,no matter if you played 200 or 2000 games,only the amount of lefted games change,but not the percenty,so no excuse.
It is a problem that teammates leave,but this not a freepass for you to leave a game witout getting punished,also the leaving of your mates kinda ruined or saturday,right?
If people abuse you,ignore them and report them after the match.Its their goal that you leave,so dont do them the favor of leaving.

Its normal that you sometimes get mismatched or encounter a smurf account,sure its not fun,but there is nothing you can do about that

I said that my teammates leaving caused me to quit the match. It annoyed me for about 2 minutes, but it didn’t ruin m day.
What ruined my day was 343i giving me an 8 hour ban - NOT people quitting on me.

I dealt with abuse correctly by removing myself from the situation.
Apparently that sort of common sense isn’t shared by 343i.

It matters A LOT.
New players are not aware of the ban punishments so they quit more often.
Once you’ve played 1000s of games you know that you should never quit because you get banned. Even if you’re having the worst time of your life playing a few matches - you still ca’t quit because 343i will make it even worse by banning you if you do.

Of course there’s something I can do - I leave the game.
You cannot, and should not, expect me to stay in a game when I’m being mismatched or smurfed. It’s wrong to expect that from players who play to have fun.
This “all quitters are bad no matter what” -Yoink!- needs to stop. It’s wrong to lump all people who’ve quit games in the same bin and it’s wrong to hand out such harsh bans for such a minor thing. Quitting is not abusive or cheating, it’s a minor inconvenience to social playlists and it’s a bit -Yoink- in ranked playlists - but it doesn’t deserve a long ban. Use other methods like XP blocking/reduction, REQ blocking/reduction, or adding deaths/losses to service record.

Yes, my quitting caused 343i to ban me.
I am, and should be, annoyed at 343i for enforcing such a stupidly harsh punishment. I paid £300 for an Xbox and Halo 5 so that I could play Halo 5 - I don’t care what argument you use against me, but unless I’m cheating or abusive I should not be stopped from playing it because I left a few games.
I quit because twice my team quit before me - which means my quitting was OK. It’s wrong to expect me to want to play a 4v1 or 4v2 game. You can’t tell me to ‘endure it’ because games are played for fun, and you would be wrong to assert that I need to suffer first in order to not get banned.
I quit another time because my team were abusing me verbally and by attacking me, blocking me, tbagging me, etc. Funnily enough, muting people doesn’t stop all of that - which is why I left the game. Reporting does nothing either as I’d have still had to put up with them for the rest of the game.
That guy’s day did not get screwed. You are being absurd. If your day is ruined by a person quitting in a game then you need to go outside. He most likely finished the match then started another match having probably forgotten about the last game; like any reasonable/normal person would. You are literally clasping at straws to try and justify your indefensible position.
Case in point an 8 hour ban for a few games quit is ridiculous. It’s not OK to ban people for so long for something so minor. 8 hours if you’re being abusive or cheating is fine - but not for quitting.

By 343s terms,10% can be considered as abusive.
You say you hate to play 2vs4 games,understandable,but why do you make it happen that other people are forced to play such an loopsided game?It ruins their fun,as much as it does yours,so an punishment is justified.

I didn’t make it so other people are forced to play that.
In many instances games, **my team left before me.**In another game, my team **didn’t want me there.**Explain to me how I forced other people to play that when my team left before me, and in a few instances, my team didn’t even want me there? I didn’t force anyone.
My punishment is not justified and you’re wasting your own time trying to incorrectly argue that it was.
It’s not acceptable to punish people for leaving games that they were being abused in, they are mismatched in, or when their team have already left.
I just cam back from getting dinner and now it says not permitted to play multiplayer last game i played was warzone firefight and i came home to this:joy:
So i was playing breakout and did this thing where i would slide then jumped while sliding. i notice i would jump a little higher and farther i thought it was cool so i kept going and once near a ledge it made me double jump kind of… now im banned… for a glitch 343 made… like really? not like it gave me an advantage i literally died doing it . like wtf?
