To be banned for 8 hours you must have been banned multiple times before, that is a slow learning curve.

Got my 3rd or 4th ban this week due to the servers constantly kicking me, I’ve played halo 5 for over a year and never have I had this much server issue before, obviously it is the halo servers acting up. Its constantly telling me my Xbox has lost connection to servers but every other game and app runs smoothly

If you haven’t already, go to this thread and report your issues. Read the first post so you know what information to give.
I have received unfair temp banning from The server, the serves keep kicking me and claims I left the games. I got proof this isn’t my fault and I’ve contacted my ISP and done everything on my end to prove it isn’t my internet. I’m getting banned for the servers kicking me. The bans are starting to get lengthy to, please help.

Open Nat?
Also the traffic on your connection made by other devices can increase the chance of an connection loss.

Yes zero devices other then the Xbox is connected, I’ve even contacted my ISP with detailed times of when disconnecting happens and it’s nothing on there or my end.

Excessive disconnecting is one of the things that will trigger bans. Even if you disconnect unintentionally, disconnecting too often suggests there is some issue in the communication between your console and Halo 5’s servers. Therefore, temp bans will be doled out to help remove players with inconsistent connection from the game, giving them time to hopefully fix their connection while not decreasing the overall quality of the multiplayer experience for the majority. It may seem harsh, but it is 343i’s right to do so.
I see you already posted a report in the server error thread. It may be helpful to 343i’s server report team for you to edit that post to include all the steps you have already taken to troubleshoot your connection.

Detailed times,so the Disconnects are always happening at the same time?
Can you say at what time?

They are inconsistent, some games I won’t have any issues, then some games 4-5 times I’ll be super laggy or simply disconnect. The thing is though I’ve played halo 5 since it came out and I’ve never been disconnect more then 9 or 10 times that entire time, this last 3 weeks ive been disconnected close to 60 games

Okay, I read that -Yoink-. Guess the -Yoink- what. I was banned for idling in a game. I get it. But I was helping my mother cook dinner for 6 -Yoinking!- people. And I got banned for 2 -Yoinking!- hours and I just got the damn game. 343, fix your -Yoink-.you did good with Halo 4. Halo 5 is good too. But the ban system is -Yoinked!-. Fix it. For the fans of Halo who want to play your -Yoinking!- game that they paid 40+ dollars for. Don’t be retards and care about your fans. -Yoinking!- -Yoinks!-.

Raging can increase the risk of heartattack,so calm down.
Also the game doesnt care what you are doing when you are inactive,so if you cook or go to the toilett, the result is the same.
The bansystem is still the same as used by Bungie.
Hi,
My son was just banned and he doesn’t know why. He’s 9 and just learning the game which semes a little harsh. Is there a way to tell what he did to get himself banned?

He should have received a ‘banhammer strikes’ message that would have the cause and length of his ban. The most common reasons are leaving too many games, idling though matches, excessive suicides, team killing, or poor connection.

Don’t break the rules for the game you paid $40+ for.
You ended up leaving 4 games since you’ve owned the game.

I didn’t pay $60 for people to idle, rage quit, or team kill, I think it’s pretty justified. If you’re going to cook food maybe play after it’s done?
fyi: you had to have done something to get banned that long cuz I’ve been banned twice and both were only 10 minutes. It gets longer and longer the more you get banned, and a two hour ban says you’ve already got a history.
Not sure how long my ban is or even if I’m actually banned. My 3 year old likes to play with the controller in the games and committed suicide I think too many times yesterday (cause obviously he is not good at playing but loves the “army mans”), my wife saw the unnatural selection screen but no actual ban or hammer. I was able to play last night but not today all day. I get a warning that one or more players can’t play multi player for the past 11 hours now. Already talked to Xbox it’s nothing to do with live. Never been banned before.

Suiciding too much can lead to you getting booted from a game. Leaving or otherwise not finishing too many games can trigger a ban. The ban notification appears only once, so if you miss it there is no way to tell how long the ban is for.
Can you play any multiplayer? Ranked, Social, Warzone? How about Customs and Forge? You do have 6 DNFs since the beginning of January, so it is possible you are in the midst of a ban, but an 11+ hour ban would mean that you’ve been banned more than a few times. Have you tried hard resetting your console and router/modem?

I reset the console but not my router - all others devices are working fine. It is something I can try tho. My error message on the multiplayer (and all areas ranked, social etc) is close to saying one or more players are unable to play multiplayer at this time or something, it does not specifically say the word “banned”. Does this most likely mean it’s a seperare issue? Most of my DNF are because I’m a volunteer firefighter and obviously can not plan out when calls happen and we have been very busy lately. And again I do not remember ever being banned before so I agree 11+ hours seems excessive.

Are you sure your Gold subscription is active? I’ve never been banned personally, so I don’t have a first-person account of how a ban affects playlist selection.
As for your DNFs, the system cannot detect why you DNF and, to be fair to everyone, must treat all DNFs the same. So even if you quit for the most noble of reasons, it still counts against you. Otherwise there would be players trying to get out of bans by lying about the nature of their DNF. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s the system we have and must live with.

Per Xbox Live tonight on the phone there are no issues with the account at all. I guess I will see what happens tomorrow and hopefully it’s resolved, if not I will research more and comment back again. I understand they cannot tell why we DNF just not a fun part of the game when I am leaving for real reasons I have no control of. It is what it is.
