You have three back to back DNFS in the anniversary playlist on the 27th. Do you remember if you received the ‘banhammer strikes’ message after the third of those? I have a hypothesis that due to the delay in the ban being enacted the system may activate another ban for further misconduct without an appropriate message. I.E. Your final straw match was the second of those DNFS and when you failed to finish the third match the system enacted your ban. However since you failed to finish the third match the system then enacts another ban… Mind you this is just a bit of conjecture based on your case and a few others I’ve seen recently. It would be nice to know definitively.

Excessive disconnects (even unintentional ones) can eventually trigger a ban.

I was banned from arena for 30 minutes for quitting to many matches. After waiting 30 minutes, the ban message disappeared, so I went back to arena. However, I was still banned. I am not even allowed to see how much time is left in the ban. Is this a glitch? What should I do?
I keep stubbornly playing matches even when it’s with terrible players or quitters (although who am I kidding…some matches I have been the terrible player). Although I have never been banned to my knowledge could someone mail me a plush teddy bear to help me cope with my 1 V 4 Team Slayer action and just trying to drag out the minutes until nightmare stops? As others have noted the forum is English only you may wish to use translation software in the future. I’ve yet to hear of a permanent ban for DNFs. They can get pretty high if the DNFs persist, however. If you are disconnecting you might first want to hard reset your xbox if that fails to ease the problem there are a variety of threads devoted to improving your connection which you can find using the search feature.

Your work analogy is somewhat lacking. Regardless, it’s a material misrepresentation to say only 1 thing but mean something else entirely. Similar to how 343 promised us that you would never join a match already in progress. They simply are not being truthful with what they say is going to happen and what actually happens. Bungie at least fulfilled expectations by doing exactly what they said they would do; not overpromising on something they couldn’t deliver. Idt it’s something that 343 can’t do; they just choose not to deal with it because they already have our $ anyway. Kinda like buying a used car with the “buyer beware” thing. There are soo many other companies that do this far better. Respawn counts it as a loss and you don’t get credits. Ubisoft doesn’t allow for you to get your xp renown etc. Banning is a bit extreme and has shown it’s inherent flaws in the programming language that 343 has put forth. Goes right back to my original premise in this thread.

JIP was announced well in advance of Halo 5’s release. It was something a lot of people requested for the unranked (WZ at the time) modes. It is also off topic to the ban thread as most of your post is. As I said, if my hypothesis holds true the error in the system is failing to notify you of the correct length of your ban after you’d earned the second one. It would be quite nice if you could view the ban timer at any point rather than only in the ‘ban hammer strikes message’ it would eliminate a lot of confusion.

As comedyshermit said, 343i stated that ranked Halo 5 matches would never use JIP, and would always start fresh. They did not say that all Halo 5 matches would never use JIP.
Edit: actually, I realize now that when 343i first talked about no JIP, the only playlists they had in Arena were ranked. Social playlists didn’t exist at launch, so their statement was, in fact, that Arena wouldn’t use JIP: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/enter-the-arena. However, the addition of social games probably caused them to update that policy.
I was just playing paying some BTB with capture the flag. Then the game ends for me outta nowhere a I get the Ban Hammer for no reason. If someone could help, 5$thats be great
