This is because, prior to this thread’s existence, too many individual ban threads were being created in the support forum. And there is (albeit limited) evidence available to the general public in players’ game histories. It’s essentially guaranteed that some players who come here complaining that they don’t deserve a ban are not being entirely truthful. Sure, some players may have actually been wrongly banned; it can happen, the system isn’t perfect (no system is). However, I and many others are trepidatious in believing every “I shouldn’t be banned” claim here because we’ve seen clear cases where people say that when they clearly should be banned.
> > > > > If you believe you are being harrassed by any forum user, your best course of action is to use the report tools on the offending post. Truly offending posts will be moderated appropriately. If you feel that appropriate action isn’t being taken, it could mean that a monitor hasn’t seen the report yet, or that the post wasn’t actually breaking any rules. Monitors are the only ones who can “police” the forums; normal community members, no matter what they say, aren’t in control of what you say. However, it is within anyone’s right to disagree with what someone says on these forums (so long as they don’t break any rules). So while you may not like it when a community member brings up someones game history, counting out DNFs, they are actually quite allowed to do that. It doesn’t break any rules, and therefore no action needs to be taken against it. And someone you don’t like from here posting in other threads you make isn’t against the rules, either (unless they break an actual rule in that post, but the act of posting itself isn’t wrong). I went and found the particular user you were talking about, and though you may find them annoying, their posts didn’t break any rules.
> > > > > A final note: pointing out DNFs in game game history isn’t stat flaming; not inherently. If you say “you were banned because you have 30% DNFs”, that’s not stat flaming. If you say “you suck and shouldn’t play because you have 30% DNFs”, that would be stat flaming.

Okay forum cop.
So you DNF 10 times and nothing happens, my game freezes and I get banned for idling lmao. Okay that makes a lot of sense.
There’s like 20 threads with people talking about DNFs listed in their stats that never happened. That’s part of the problem.
Oh, and who identified you as a troll? I didn’t, but if you want to call yourself out, then um okay.

Never named you in any of my posts, so that’s on you for labeling yourself a troll.

Also, still have my vids of games. Never idled, never DNF’d 4 times in a week. Game froze after winning a SWAT match, restart game and POOF banned for 2 hours. Same garbage happened in Reach which is why I gave up on Halo back then. Reach destroyed Halo to the point that Bungie shut down the old bnet forums and sold their remaining Halo rights to 343i and Microsoft. H5’s ban system is almost an exact copy of Reach’s and that ban system is a HUGE part of that game failing and Bungie jumping ship.

Basically, fans are angry because 343i keeps doing the same nonsense that made previous titles fail horribly. I just read some threads this past week where pages and pages of posters stated they were selling the game due to this dumb system. Halo ain’t gonna last if the devs keep this nonsense up…they’re gonna wind up banning their entire community into oblivion and then they’ll have no sales.

You responded to me accusing me of flaming you. I haven’t identified as anything. You just accused me of trolling and flaming, falsely in both cases. That was after I gave you a link identifying the mods so that you could express your concern over the ban thread to them. I’ve been quite polite to you, particularly since all you’ve done is accuse people of flaming you, which is quite hilarious when you called Vegeto a bigot. I’ve seen projection in my day, but that is pretty extreme.

The fans aren’t angry. You are angry. You are not more than one person. The majority of the people on these forums including myself haven’t been banned.

And there is (albeit limited) evidence available to the general public in players’ game histories. Sure, some players may have actually been wrongly banned; it can happen, the system isn’t perfect (no system is). However, I and many others are trepidatious in believing every “I shouldn’t be banned” claim here because we’ve seen clear cases where people say that when they clearly should be banned.

There’s over 3000+ comments from angry players posted in this thread alone, yet you claim “no one is angry.”

That’s just a joke, plus you keep going back and editing all of your posts to look like an angel on the forums…hint: mods can see your edits.

Also, I do not believe that you have not been banned since people are getting banned over 1 DNF, yet you admit to having 10 DNFs, but claim you have never been banned and are a perfect rule-abiding player.

You just edited your above posts about two times removing your derogatory remarks. You’re not fooling anyone…and I never mentioned you in my posts. I replied to you saying some people in here are playing forum cop and flaming. You decided to label yourself as such when you got offended.

Just playin firefight when I reload my SMG like 10 times, freeze and crash. I was then banned. Please explain oh mighty moderator.

REPORTED!!!

But seriously, I was just taking the piss and have only ever had a communication ban.

11? Man, that many? Sucks to be on my fire team.

343i and Microsoft really need to get their act in order. There’s another Halo forum out there that has over 12,000 former halowaypoint members who were banned on this forum for posting their opinions about the recent Halo titles and online play (like the current matchmaking ban fiasco). If you do the math, $60 multiplied by 12,000 players is over $700,000 dollars of lost sales for future Halo games simply because 343i decided to be rude on their own forums and ban people for posting their opinions. Great business sense, really.

ive been hammered twice for quiting games turned me off for a long time because I was being kicked from servers or trapped in the matchmaking UI forcing me to restart the game to change playlist then 343i go and tell me im banned because their game isn’t stable god even thinking of it makes me so Angry, I am modod and you shall fear my laser face!!!

A: I didn’t claim no one is angry. I claimed that your opinion isn’t shared by everyone. I’m not sure why you can’t grasp this. There is no massive movement to quit Halo 5 because of the ban system. Show it to me if it exists. Present some evidence to support your wild claims.
B: I’m certainly not an angel. I’m actually quite a bit of a -Yoink-. I guarantee you the mods I’ve interacted with know that. I just try my best to show people some modicum of respect. I don’t care if the mods can see my edits. Some I’ve made because I thought better of a phrase, but the most common reason I edit my posts…to correct typos, misspellings, and syntax errors I didn’t initially notice. I’m quite certain I will eventually earn a ban from the forum. I just won’t do so intentionally.
C: I haven’t been banned for DNFS or quitting. No one has been banned for a single DNF. The last time I received a matchmaking ban for quitting was in Reach.
D: I never claimed to be a perfect anything. I try to show respect for the people around me. I don’t quit unless it’s an emergency out of consideration for the people in the game with me. I’ve been kicked from the server about 10 times. I’d say I have 30 or so DNFS. You can feel free to check my history and see how many I actually have I don’t know, but it certainly isn’t anywhere near a decent percentage of matches played either recently or as a whole.

Since H5 only has about 360k players that play online right now and 343i already ran off about 12,000 of their costumers (as stated in an earlier post above), if they continue at this rate, they will legit have no costumers lol. That’s an instant loss of 4% and with risk management standards considering any loss between 2-6% being the max for average business ventures, projects, and portfolios, that’s absolutely horrid. How can 343i think it’s cool to just ban over 12,000 players from their own forums and go in-game ban crazy on top of that.
People are having a hard time finding matches in certain H5 playlists because everyone is either banned or abandoned the game due to 343i and Microsoft’s horrid treatment of their Halo costumers.

Only the official Halo Tracker that uses the official Halo API from Microsoft. It’s honestly probably much less though because they only track divisions and the numbers appear to be counted more than once.

Microsoft stopped publicly releasing population stats after Bungie sold off the franchise. It’s honestly probably because the population has taken a massive dip since Reach.

Got banned from EVERYTHING 2 days ago for lagging out 1 time in arena…
Even warzone was banned for over an hour.

8 out of your last 30 matches were DNFs. If all of those were from connection issues you might use the search bar at the top to find some of the threads about improving your connection.

In a different thread, someone mentioned that we can know the range of population by comparing Halo 5 to other games with population counters via ranking of activity of games… they got to the conclusion that Halo 5 has less than 26k players active (depending on what you mean by that)

I’ve used the same router, setup, etc since I got H5 a year ago. Seldomly before the last 3 or 4 days did I disconnect.
However, even if I were banned from arena, why would it ban me from warzone? Is what left me scratching my head. On top of that, it wouldn’t even let me sign in my profile, i’d randomly sign out, and when It managed to act right it would not go past the Title screen. These are all strange things that have happened and I wondered if it was their issue or mine. I would even get default messages from XBL that it’s their issue and not mine. Jw if it’s just me or what. Last night I played about 15 games and it worked better but still would disconnect sometimes.
