Just like Bungie’s ban system right? Because thats basically the same thing.

Fun fact: It’s not the ban system’s problem that you have 10 DNFs in one day

It simply isn’t a responsible blanket rule to tally a players quits because they’re in a 4/3, 4/3, 3/2, 3/1 and afraid to quit and let their stats go to crap for the sake of “not quitting.” Let alone frustrated for 8-12 minutes of just getting obliterated.

Was just wondering. I think my question is a valid one and would like to get it into the hands of a moderator for forwarding.

Can you please Check my account Marcodinho33.

Just bought an xbox one and Halo 5 guardians. Only left maybe a game or two because it was 4 v 1 so I left the game and got a 24 hour ban!!!

I wouldn’t mind a 1 or 2 hour ban but 24??

Thanks for your help!!

My son has been banned from the arena games on Halo 5 guardians. I don’t see the duration time anywhere for the ban. There is no count down.
It says at least one player is banned on his fireteam. He is the only person on his team.
He seems to be able to play in the afternoon, but not in the morning, or the night. It isnt a child restriction. How can the ban be lifted or how can we find out why he’s been banned. I don’t see a reason, or even how long. Is there a support call line or email? I have been getting Halo Games since 2004. Not going to buy anynore Halo games this is such a hassle.

thanks

Looking through your service history you have 12 DNF’s(Did Not Finish)games out of 44.
That’s a 27% DNF ratio.
You state that you have only “left” maybe 1 or two games, so I will assume that you will state all the other DNF’s in your history are due to so called “dissconnects” ?
Breaking down you stats even further you played 19 games on the 1st November and have 6 DNF’s, 3 of them within a game of each other, this equates to a 31% DNF ratio.
That is quite a large percentage for just one day.
I have not heard of someone getting a 24 hour ban straight away, normally they start with minutes then hours, it’s possible that you got the 24 hour ban because of the frequency that you have DNF’s in your record.
That said to try and avoid the bans follow the matchmaking rules. No AFK/Betraying/Quiting/Suiciding. If it’s your connection that’s playing up Cycle you router off/on, run a ping test and see if you have any packet loss, check router logs for dissconnects.
If any of the above contact your ISP and try and troubleshoot with them to try and get a stable connection.

Well if your son has been playing on the account/gamertag that you are posting on, then the last 10 games that have been played in arena there are 6 DNF’s(Did Not Finish) wich equates to a 60% DNF rate.
Also 4 of the DNF’s were back to back. i.e completed a game then DNF’d the next two games(this happened twice)
The Ban timer will have been on the lobby screen when he tried to get into another game after the ban has been started, If he did not notice the time that it stated the ban would last then all I can say is wait it out.
If this is the fist time hae has been banned then hopefully it should be either minutes to hours.
But from your post it seems he can’t play at certain times, this maybe because he has been banned dureing those times, and if that is the case then the ban time gets longer.
It states going into the playlist the matchmaking rules apply, these include no AFK/Suicide/Betraying and habitual Quiting, also the system also includes dissconnects as a Quit(DNF), if you are experiencing alot of dissconnects then I suggest that you contact your ISP and try and troubleshoot your connection/line and get them to sort the problem out

Thank you for the information and your time. Yes it’s his gamer tag. 6 DNFs, I’ll go over this with him. How do you see the aggragate DNFs? Is this something I can monitor as well? Our IP is fine however. We will have to wait it out, but the time factor doesnt seem obvious. I went to the lobby with him and it says just Banned and its like that since yesterday morning or earlier, not sure. Once hitting 60% DNF, how long before the ban meter times out and forgets the pattern resulting in less severe bans?

I have the same problem. . . Mines be like this for 2 weeks and nobody seems to want to awnser or help me. . . Threads are useless. You would think they would have some sort of call line or something better for a triple a game. . Hope you have better luck.

Sorry to say but how the banning system works is that it creates a profile of your gaming/game completion, if more of the infractions to matchmaking rules are broken then this will get added to the “profile” and the bans will then get longer and longer and there is no cooldown on the banhammer, and unfortunatly does not forget the pattern.
To view the service history click on your gamertage at the top right of the web page, this will take you to your profile page and the will be a picture of your Spartan.
To the right of the Spartan there will be two buttons, one “customize Spartan” and the other “Service Record”
Click the service record button and then on the next page click “Game History”, there you will be able to view all the games that have been played, they will either state Victory/Defeat/DNF or Tie

It’s a possibility that the banhammer might have multiple bans lined up, now I am just speculating mind you, looking at the last game you played was on the 26th October (6 days ago), and they are running concurrent.
I have heard of this happeniong only a couple of time on this forum where someone has completed a ban and then when trying to log back in and search for a game it has hit them with another ban.
I would suggest trying to PM one of the Moderators and see if they can shine some light on this situation or at least point you in the right direction to get some larification on the issue that you are having.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

Moderators (monitors) are just normal players like you and I who have been on these forums for a long time and have a track record of being helpful and (for the most part) polite. They are not affiliated with 343i in any way, and their answers are often similar to those given by community helpers without the Monitor tag. In regards to your original question, since leaving matches can result in a ban, the only way to avoid a ban when outnumbered in matches would be to play through the match. This could mean giving it your all despite being disadvantaged, or just feeding the enemies kills to end the game faster. That might be distasteful if you care about your K/D or win/loss ratios, but leaving games for any reason can result in a ban, and successive bans get longer, so finishing matches really is the only way to avoid potential bans. You can try to avoid situations where you get teammates who leave by searching for fireteam members in the Recruitment forum or other LFG services, or by playing with people on your friend’s list.

So much truth in just two lines Mythos, agreed 100%!

The handful of people who live in this thread just to support 343i’s dumb ban system are part of the reason why the Halo community has slowly diminished since Reach…y’all are so toxic. People are having real technical issues with the game’s ban system and you people who support it no matter what are just sadistic. Someone said I have 4 DNFs from this week, but on my end, I have never quit nor gotten booted in a game this week until that Infection game where I was hiding, so clearly the game is messed up. People are having things put on their records/profiles that aren’t true and y’all are just flat out calling them losers saying they deserve the bans. Who are you people to criticize others? Y’all ain’t 343i employees and have no access to any information on other players except for the partial and flawed info in their waypoint profile stats, which by the way Bungie stated way back that compiled stats on the website from in-game are usually inaccurate and incomplete and just an estimated summation from small bits of info from the live servers…and I really doubt it’s any different with 343i, so to you handful of people in this thread that are being rudely judgemental, take a chill pill.

I remember back on bnet when Bungie was still managing Halo, everyone had games missing from their bnet stats and info missing, on top of wrong info added into their stats. Bungie legit said don’t worry about it, it’s just an unofficial, partial and inaccurate record of your stats from the games’ servers. That could be why they only archived half the stats when they sold Halo, why archive it all when you know only some of it is accurate. 343i probably uses the same system because it’s impossible to archive every players’ every single game played…the amount of server space required to store that amount of info would be financially insane.

Anyone who takes offense to this post is probably the type of person I’m referring to

Yes, one who had 4 DNFs in one week and mistakenly blamed it on his SWAT game, and another guy who had 10 DNFs in one day thinks things are toxic and the ban system is terrible. What a surprise.

From your 4 Infection games, 2 of them you were the only one who left (I’m assuming one of those was your idle disconnect), and one game where you and another person left. The only weird one is the last game where everyone but one person left. I can find these games *through other people’s profiles.*You spout all this stuff about Bungie when they had their own Banhammer system in Halo 3.

Having fun being internet detective? This game is for two players

You try to call everyone out and act like a saint declaring everyone who DNFs is a person who deserves to be banned and has no excuse. Well, I just checked your game history and you have a bunch of DNFs in both Arena and Warzone, so I think it’s time you stop speaking condescendingly and insultingly to people in this thread because you’re a gigantic bigot and hypocrite.

Why don’t you go take a voluntary ban for your DNFs and not play Halo for the rest of the year.

I don’t act like a saint. I actually never said that that you deserve this ban over 4 DNFs, as I find that bar a little too high.

I also never said that I don’t get DNFs (people can disconnect from games you know), nor have I ever said that DNFs are okay when it happens to me. You need to relearn the definition of a hypocrite.

But this is what happens when you assume things.

I don’t know who’s Game History you checked, but I only have 3 Warzone DNFs since July, and I only have 2 Arena DNFs since the game launched.
Anytime you wanna stop embarrassing yourself; remember, at the end of the day here you’re the one who is banned, not me.

You did say that in many posts and in many different threads.

Like I said earlier, people in this thread need to CHILL OUT, you included.

Other people already told you to stop acting like a mod and 343i employee. You’re simply a Halo player like the rest of us. Say your peace and move on. I’m reporting any further responses from you to me in this thread because at this point you’re just flaming people and stat flaming on top of calling people out everytime someone posts in here.

Don’t like my opinion? Move on. I posted my experience for 343i to look into, not for you to play detective. This thread was created for people to compile their issues for 343 and that is all, but some of you are playing internet detective and need to relax.

Yes, those that have a bunch of DNFs deserve a ban. That’s what the ban system is for. The banhammer has been coming down since it was in Bungie’s hands in Halo 3.

Those what were actually unfairly punished, I try to help, but at the end of the day, no one here has the power to remove a ban.

I don’t act like a mod, that’s what the actual mods are for. I don’t act like a 343i employee, because they aren’t obligated to show up here and do anything. I am simply a Halo player, someone who has access to your public Game History, just as you did to me. I’m sensing a bit of hypocrisy from you now.

Also, the very first post of this thread:

> 2533274837003795;1:
> Will posting in this thread guarantee my ban will be lifted and that someone will respond personally to every post?
> Unfortunately, no. We simply don’t have enough eyes, ears and typing hands to respond to every single post. However, the community will help keep you honest. You have a public game history for everyone to see. If you post you were banned unjustly, the community is in their rights to check out your history to confirm or deny your claims. Please, just keep it clean.

So no, I am not breaking any rules here.

But if you can’t be civil enough to have a decent conversation without resorting to insults and reporting people to silence them, then I guess there’s nothing left to say.

You aren’t banned anymore, it’s been longer than two hours. So you should take your own advice: “Don’t like my opinion? Move on.”

It’s hard to get any actual help here when all people do is tell you you’re “stats” yeah I left a lot due to having to go or being asked to train jn custom games. I’ll take the ban happily. But when there isn’t a timer or and description of how long the ban is… Well it kind of sucks so I came here to get help, but I guess if i can find a moderator I could ask them since all i got was hard reset. And find a moderator (which was a little more useful!)

I was hiding in a corner waiting for zombies, looking back and forth, and BOOM I get kicked with the stupid error message “Wake Up John, Idle too long.” WTF? I never had these problems until the recent Halo 5 update and all I play is Infection and SWAT. This happened just before the SWAT game too.

Well, I just checked your game history and you have a bunch of DNFs in both Arena and Warzone, so I think it’s time you stop speaking condescendingly and insultingly to people in this thread because you’re a gigantic bigot and hypocrite.

But when there isn’t a timer or and description of how long the ban is… Well it kind of sucks so I came here to get help, but I guess if i can find a moderator I could ask them since all i got was hard reset. And find a moderator (which was a little more useful!)

Yeah the forum is pretty much useless for help since 343 seems to have abandoned it and the community is mega toxic to each other.

To that other guy who won’t stop:

Someone must be reading the thread cause someone cut my ban short after I posted my complaint, so ha…lasted less than 2hrs when I checked the time the other day.

Yeah, you sure showed me.
