I GOT BANNED FOR NO REASON I GOT LAGGED OUT THE GAME TO MANY TIMES THIS IS STUPID!!
STUPID BANHAMMER
Yeah the bans are over the top. I just got banned for idling. I am actually smoking a ton of pot and I canât remember if I idled, but now Iâm banned for 4 hours. This is nuts man. And I read that kids post who is banned for three days! Can we have Free for All in MCC Iâm bored of teams, teams are OK but I want Slayer and the ball game and basically no team playlist, maybe mix it up with shottie snipers and rockets and magnums only etc whatevs. But you got me to play Halo 5 for the Slayer which tbf I like (except for Spartan Charge -Yoinking!- up close quarters) but then every night youâre banning me from playing. I donât know why?no other game has ever done this that I played.
I WOULD RATHER HAVE ALOT OF TROLLERS WHO LEAVE MID GAME THAN THE STUPID BANHAMMER

you have got about 9 DNFâs out of your last 50 games, a few of those are back to back, which suggests that maybe they was a connection issue.
Of those DNFâs the other players in the lobby completed their games, which then suggests that there is a problem with the connection to the games on your end.
Your best bet is to troubleshoot your connection for packet loss as this will be the cause of the dissconections. And before you say âthere is nothing wrong with my internetâ and start quoting download speeds and upload speeds, that info does not have anything to do with packet loss.
343i also stated long ago that having a Stable connection is a must and that responsibility is on the user, along with all the rest of the matchmaking rules, which includes dissconecting.

you have 12 DNFâs out of you last 30 games, thatâs a 40% DNF rate. The matchmaking rules are there for all to abide by, if you canât because of your recreational habits then you are playing the wrong game, if there are other aspects of the game that you donât like, again you are playing the wrong game.
The reason why some people are being banned for days at a a time is because they canât follow the rules and do not think that the rules apply to them and have recieved numerous bans before.
The banhammer continously builds a profile of your breaking the rules, it does not forget nor reset, if your unsure of why your being banned read the first post of this thread pertaining to âIdling through games, habitual quitting/suiciding/betraying, or any other type of unsociable and unsportsmanlike behavior.â

Unfortunately 343 took over and ruined you with their bad matchmaking and FU attitude towards its customers. Iâm in love with another now and itâs name is titanfall!
Sad to see you go, although I personally think that 343i have done a good job with the franchise but there is room for improvement and iâm sure that they are continuously looking at way to improve on the core fetures.

Bollocks. I bought it, and you can -Yoink- off mate, Iâll -Yoinking!- play it if I want to. -Yoinking!- duplicate the "rankedâ playlists with unranked playlists and no bans, if your -Yoinking!- stupid âesportâ is so important to you, because Iâm a customer and a fan of halo and I bought a game to play it not to be -Yoinking!- banned because of some stupid -Yoinking!- rules. Who made these rules up anyway? Itâs -Yoinking!- ridiculous thatâs what. You want us to play or not?

Note that Ankles32 is not a 343i representative and has no control over the banhammer or matchmaking. Ankles32 is merely a community member relaying information and drawing conclusions to help you understand where your ban may have come from.
And you are right: you can play whatever game you want to, even Halo. However, if you choose to not follow the matchmaking rules established by 343i, then you shouldnât be surprised when consequences occur. Matchmaking rules arenât specific to Halo: any game that has online multiplayer (especially multiplayer with some sort of ranking) has some sort of regulation. The matchmaking rules are put in place to try and make sure the majority of players have a fair, enjoyable experience. And since 343i determines the terms for which everyone gets to access their game, we are all essentially at their whim. We donât own Halo 5; we own licenses to play Halo 5, which can technically be revoked at any time for any reason. Thatâs just how it is, all in the fine print.
HELP!
I just received an 18 hour ban playing Halo 5. I havenât quit in the middle of a game but 3 or 4 times in the past week or so. I know Ive accidently killed a few of my team mates getting them in the crossfire. 18 hours seems a bit excessive. Can anyone help explain why I have received this? Thanks

Itâs true that you donât have many DNFs among your recent games. However, DNF frequency may not (and probably isnât) the only criteria of issuing a ban. I noticed that in both of the DNFs you have on record for all your games today, 9/21/2016, you were the only one to DNF and your personal performance wasnât great. This suggests that you may have actually quit those games, as opposed to getting disconnected. Additionally, these were ranked Arena games, which should be a more serious offense for leaving since no one would have replaced you in those games. This, coupled with what you said about betraying teammates, may have been enough to trigger a ban. As for the 18 hour length, the banning system in Halo 5 is such that every ban is longer than the last, so if you are up to 18 hours, it means you have had prior bans. We donât know if the ban system has any sort of âforgive and forgetâ aspect, but based on player comments it seems that the banhammer always remembers your prior infractions.
before the 18 hour ban I got banned 2 different times but those games I didnt quit I and the rest of the team was booted to the main screen before the match finished.
I contacted @xboxsupport on twitter they sent me a survey after where you can put as long of a comment as you would like. We all need to complain to @xboxsupport and let them know how ridiculous this is. Complaining here does nothing! 343 doesnât care. But if we all complain to Xbox I promise the next time they write up a contract with 343 they put stipulations to prevent this type of thing. Xbox wants our money even if 343 doesnât. I let Xbox know if I canât play halo then there is no advantage to owning a Xbox over PlayStation in my eyes.
Dont spit in my face and tell me itâs my fault. Hereâs some fine print next time your sales are going to go down because all we want is to enjoy the games âwe purchased the right to playâ. Let Xbox hear it donât waste your energy here!

Letâs say this go through and i343 removes the banhammer theyâve implemented.
What would prevent me from taking the same action as you did? Somewhat same arguments, but turned around.
-No reason to own an xbox if players who destroy my experience are allowed to roam free and continue playing with me.

Yeah, we own licenses to Halo 5, and we can just stop playing. I think I will. I got returned to the lobby for killing myself 3 times. The only person this hurts is me, taking off my kills. It seems like this game is set up specifically for people who want to play teams like theyâre in the -Yoinking!- army, and take it so SRSLY that there is no fun for people who want to have fun. You need ranked playlists for the try hard -Yoink!- with bans and whatever else you want, and the same playlists unranked for normal people who want to have fun, with no ridiculous 6 hour or 3 day bans. Itâs nuts.
I just donât understand it. Spartan Charge has made me not want to play anyway. It removes all close quarter skill, the scrubs headbut you and shoot you twice while youâre in an animation you canât control and youâre dead. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. They donât have to sneak up on you and hit you in the back, you canât dance around them and have a beautiful fight. Itâs -Yoinking!- awful and it sux, and I want PROPER SLAYER with no teams on the MCC.

Actually it hurts your entire team. Taking away a point from the cumulative score. People used to do it as a way to derank and because of that actions were taken to eliminate that kind of bad behavior. Iâm a social player and I have no desire to play with people who kill themselves, betray their teammates, or quit games. It hurts my experience in playing the game just to have fun. You havenât been playing that long and aside from the suicides and have been leaving matches. That is why your ban time is as long as it is. Itâs a cumulative thing. The more problems you cause the harder the hammer hits in response.

Just so you know, when you suicide in team matches, the loss in your score effects your team; when you lose a kill for suiciding, the team score loses a kill, too.

Itâs nuts.

It was SLAYER. There was no -Yoinking!- team. I hate -Yoinking!- teams.
I donât know why every single FPS now except DOOM is some sort of -Yoink- team game modelled on the real life army, unless itâs the -Yoinking!- US Army trying to train soldiers, but Iâm not a soldier, Iâm a player. I donât want to kill things for real, thatâs why I play videogames. If it the US Army they can -Yoink- off and stop ruining my games.

I wasnât on a team. Iâm an FPS player and I have no desire to play in a team. I want to have fun, and that means an interesting and varied playlist for people who donât like teams, donât give a -Yoink- about your stupid esport or your -Yoinking!- ranks, and want to play an FPS online with people. The FPS I like most is HALO.
Iâm not going to sit back and accept it, because this -Yoink- has ruined my game. I like Slayer, no teams, no -Yoink-. I like the game, not your stupid online competition.
Your stupid competition with bans for people who spoil it for try-hard team playing -Yoink!- has spoiled the game for me. What happened to playing online for FUN? Not giving a -Yoink-??
