Are you sure you ban was for 8 hours and not 8 minutes? if the timer showed 8:00 / 8.XX then it would have been 8 minutes, if it showed 8:00:00 / 8.XX:XX then that amount would be in hours

Also I find it rediculous that you don’t have a way to actually contact 343 as a consumer. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. If you let your child play on it, you are responsible for their actions.
They are not throwing away money by using a ban system. If someone is banned frequently enough that they decide they won’t buy the next game, they were disrupting the other customer’s games. The system is good for the vast majority of players and bad for 12,000 (Though I’d say that number is plucked from thin air.)
JIP is not a cure all for quitting. It’s a badly applied bandage. There is no guarantee that if you leave a match you will be replaced at all. There is even less of a likelihood that you will be replaced by someone of relatively equal skill and quickly.

Yes it was 8:25:16 the minutes might not be exact but was definitely hours I tried like 30 minutes later

Welcome to halo 5. Unfortunately prepare for the ‘oh you deserved it’ comments that are inevitable. Theres nothing we can do about this and 343i sure wont. This forum is like a vent area. It wont change nothing.

In a game like swat that is a one shot kill it completely helps. Even if the person isn’t even playing or is the worst player ever it distracts the opponent for a second, long enough for you to duck behind a wall and give yourself a fighting chance. I play titanfall regularly and it doesn’t seem to be an issue putting new ppl in the match. It doesn’t happen every time but it does happens most of the time. That number came from something I read on 343industries.org forum pages. I don’t know the validity of all the complaints or the number. It’s not my product so I won’t spend my time looking into it. If it was I would. I like for the people who give me money to be happy and purchase more of my products. And yes I make and sell stuff and listen to my customers advice. I don’t give out my number but I do make my email address readily available to them. The vast majority of people who purchase their products are not professional gamers. It is a hobby for them. They play because it’s fun. When it’s not they don’t! I’ve never been banned from any game ever! I get that it was my fault I quit out a cpl times, but if I had been given a warning i wouldn’t have. I normally like being outnumbered because I get more multikills, more killtrocities etc. but until you learn the maps real well you have no chance. Matching people with less than 1k kills with others who have less than 1k kills or replacing players in a match are simple little changes that would would help them retain customers. It doesn’t fix every situation but it helps. Retaining customers and acquiring new ones should be their #1 and #2 priorities. I have many many friends I used to play halo with who don’t want to play anymore. It sucks I feel like the last man standing in my group of friends but I love halo. My hope is that 343 will listen to its customers and I can enjoy playing with my friends again one day. That is why I’m here. To have my opinions heard not bashed.
Also I did contact @xbox support and gave them my opionion that they should be responsible for bans not game dev’s. That their revenue is directly related to the experience their partners provide to their customers. If they regulate it they can notice trends whether it is a gamer who quits frequently on multiple games or a game dev who is on overkill(pun intended). But at the very least @xboxsupport has a way to reach out to them. Of course it was you have to talk to 343 about it (which isn’t possible) but at least they responded and show that they care enough about their customers to at least listen.

So you weren’t banned for the Doubles game. You were banned for the previous Slayer game which you did not finish. Looking closer at that game shows that you were the only person who did not finish, which suggests that you either quit or experienced personal network trouble. Either way, the banhammer normally takes 1 extra game to catch up to you. This is normal banhammer behavior. It just looks like you are getting banned for a completed game because it kicks you from the server as soon as the game is complete; rest assured, your completed Doubles game did not influence the ban at all.

The “won’t get banned for one quit” line seems to apply to players’ entire history, not a quit within a set amount of time. As in, the first DNF of your entire Halo 5 career shouldn’t trigger a ban, but once you have more than 1 DNF on your record, bans can start to come. There is no established buffer for quitting; you may think that 1 quit per week is ok, but the system doesn’t seem to agree. So if you don’t want to get banned in the future, it’s best to just not quit, period.

What needs to be addressed is how frequent after a match, only the ones I seem to be on the winning team the server disconnects right as we would go the post match stats. It is beyond annoying when I’m in a sesh to play Halo 5 and I take time out to get into it only for this to happen. Getting banned for an hour at a time. every night. Fix your yoinking yoink!

Also, it should be noted that once the words “VICTORY” or “DEFEAT” flash on the screen at the end of the game, the game is complete. Even if the game disconnects during the victory pose or the PGCR, the game is still counted as complete.
Ok so I was banned again, 1:35:54 which is 1 hour 35 minutes? which is O K I can just about cope with that if I really did leave a match but I didn’t, my fricken ISP cut out because it does maintenance at a random time between like 11 pm and 6 am because it’s BT. If this is some sort of fascist conspiracy to make us go to bed some of us don’t have to work guys, and you know my ISP kicked me because you sent me a message saying your console disconnected from our server. maybe you shouldn’t ban people for this, I read that some kids turn off their xbone’s at the plug but that will destroy their xbones if they’re doing that all the time so let them, and ok people could pull out a network cable but if that’s happening every single match and they otherwise have a really strong connection maybe ban then, but people who have dodgy ISPs like fricken BT shouldn’t get banned. I’m not peed off I’ve had a ton of chocolate milkshake and dairy milk fruit&nut i’m like, Zen. but anyway people might be. anyway bedtime. Cheers

yeah. the bans are OVER THE TOP. you have conceded defeat if you feel this system of banning is called for. your matchmaking is for not. I can literally go through 10 matches and EVERY one will be a lopsided match OR have a tanking, absent, or knucklehead player. this makes the 11th match REALLY F’IN HARD to sit through for another 10 minutes…NOT to mention when your fireteam is left with 2 vs 4 and you’re getting pounded every skirmish.
i’ve heard about every excuse for the zero-tolerance my-way-or-the-highway policy. your response basically amounts to “sucks being you?” ok. the only way i know to remedy a situation with any company that pisses on my head and tells me it’s raining is to boycott them like the moscow olympics. i like halo 5 and have no issues w 343 taking it EXCEPT this put-you-in-a-corner dunce hat treatment. unlike some i’m not sitting here smoking pot and getting amusement out of wrecking a game. i actually enjoy it…OR I USED TO.

That cant be true because, 5x out of 10 matches that I play by the time it gets to the post starts before they even get to pop up after the VICTORY it loses conection to the server and I get banned. I’ll have to record it for proof.

You got banned from a game you payed $60 for a license to play, and you agreed to the ToU / ToS and additionally the rules of the matchmaking system is right there where you choose mode and playlists.
Would you be happier to have the matchmaking matched you with others who would qualify for a ban, with no rewards or stats tracked for a couple of “clean” games?

Would it be ok to play others who’d qualify for a ban instead of not getting to play? Matches would have no rewards, or very little, no stat tracking and no progress towards commendations. You’d need to complete a set of clean consequtive matches before getting back into the normal matchmaking pool. Would you say this would be better?
Goodbye Halo! I loved you for 15 years and owned every copy of you. We spent thousands of hours together, hundreds of thousands killed. Unfortunately 343 took over and ruined you with their bad matchmaking and FU attitude towards its customers. I’m in love with another now and it’s name is titanfall!
