It can tell the difference, but like I mentioned in my last post people can disconnect intentionally. Push the button on their power strip, pull the plug on their wifi, etc. It can tell the difference. However, as I said the net is cast wide to catch all the people who are doing wrong. It is unfortunate that the people who are disconnected unintentionally (and assuming it isn’t something they have the ability to fix) do get banned. However, at this point it seems unlikely that there will be any major change in the ban system. Don’t idle, don’t grief, quit as few games as possible, and use the search feature to find advice on how to avoid disconnects with the system and you should be able to avoid future bans. The majority of players haven’t been banned for any reason.
This is really frustrating, I am getting banned because it keeps saying at the end of the game, after the winner is depicted lost connection to server. It does that multiple times though and now ever time I get online and it does this, the ban is like 2 days. It’s not my Internet I’ve called them no one can tell me why this is happening.

When you see a disconnect message appearing at the end of a game, during the victory pose, that is the banhammer kicking in for a previous DNF. The game where you see the “lost connection” message is completed the moment you see “Victory” or “Defeat” on the screen, and will be registered as complete in your history, even if you get disconnected before the PGCR screen.
So in the case of your history, you weren’t banned for getting disconnected from your most recent Slayer game; you were banned for the previous game where you were the only one to DNF.
So what? If I wanted CoD maps I’d play CoD. I’ll just play MCC but they’ve messed that up too, the reticle TRACKS enemies. Trying to shoot at distance is a nightmare and all the fun is gone.

I would interested to know the thoughts of 343 on members going and entering games already in-play. While I understand that the system can refill teams (if someone drops out) from a new player, are their limits?
Yesterday I was placed into active games 5 out of 8 …I don’t really mind, but it can be expensive on Req’s and it would effect your profile score when not getting high points, players should be awarded the average number of battle points from the previous (and missed) levels.

Well I’m just saying I’m not putting up with this -Yoink-. 6 hours is way too -Yoinking!- long. If I can’t turn on my game and play it when I want I’m gonna just take it off the hard drive.

This is to high so its obvious that you get baned.
I have been letting my 5yr. play online as he loves this game. I just got penalized/banned for this. Not sure what egregious rules he broke or how long my ban is! All well, guess I can always invest in Call of Duty so he doesn’t have to wonder what he did wrong.

Based on your game history, I would say the source of the ban is not finishing matches. 3 out of the last 10 games today are DNFs, and they were all in ranked matches.
As for the length of the ban, unfortunately the way things are right now is that the only time the timer appears is on the initial ban notification.

I will be sure to let him know why he cannot go online anymore and play Halo. This could bad for 343 studios, he will now turn to other games while creating a diabolical plan like ‘Elliot’ to hack them and take down their corrupt system. Right now 343 is equivalent to e-corp and something must be done!

Lol ive had this issue so many times but this -Yoinking!- community will just say ‘oh you disconnected’. Ive completelely given up. Word of advice it doesnt stop i was banned for over 105 hours in 2 days. 5 min 10 min hour etc up to 3 days.
