> 343 why did i just get banned. The game lagged out. Kicked me out of fireteam. Ban hammer is useless. People quit it happens. Get rid of it i played halo 2 it sucks when people quit. Oh well. The ránking system is trash aswell. Respond back im pissed about being banned on your mistakes not mine.
If you are getting a “fireteam has changed” or similar message hard resetting your console usually clears that up.
Cmon 343 please read our pleas. 10 months into the game and servers are still Yoink. Even people like ISPITEFUL got dced and got a ban. Like please fix yr servers. Cause if not yr gonna lose alot of players when the new games comes out this Fall and hopefully you will take notice of the players

Ok, so someone may have already brought this up but I’m not going to go through all of these posts to find out, so:
Something needs to be done regarding bans from Arena Doubles games. Prime example: two of my last few games had an opponent quit early and another booted for inactivity. It’s called doubles for a reason. I’ve never experienced a player being added in a Doubles match after a premature exit. So naturally, I’m not about to waste my time playing 2-against-1, so I quit. Yes, I’ll own up to that but I wasn’t the first one to drop the game and whatever banishment algorithm that’s in place needs to account for that. My current 9 hour ban doesn’t do it’s job. It doesn’t motivate me not to quit games (especially when half of my team quit)…it motivates me not to play this one at all.
Was just banned for twenty minutes for no valid reason.
I was with a fireteam member when, after picking Team Slayer, the matchmaking split us up and loaded us into two completely different games. We both quit. We joined another Team Slayer game, lost, then I was disconnected from the game BY THE GAME. Some connection error or something. My fireteam member got the rewards, and I was greeted with the “Banhammer” for 20 minutes. We literally got the game today and this was our 5th or 6th game.
Hi,
New to xbox and halo, I’ve recently started playing online and found myself banned twice. First time for leaving a game (accidentally left when I joined a fireteam invite) and second time for being a noob and falling off the cliff three times in that space map (accidental suicide?).
Can someone check my “history” and let me know if im on a naughty list because it seems I get banned fairly easily.

What you experienced was simply the “late banhammer”, which is normal. When you leave games and trigger a ban, it takes the banhammer 1-2 extra games to actually catch you. So the game of Team Arena that you left triggered the ban, but it didn’t hit you until after you you completed your next game of Slayer. You weren’t disconnected from the Slayer game early, you were just disconnected as soon as the game was over. The Slayer game did not contribute to the ban. You will have also gotten rewards for the Slayer game (XP and RP), even if you didn’t see them.

Leaving games and suiciding too often are things that can get you banned. Now that you’ve been banned, the banhammer may be more sensitive towards you, but so long as you finish games and don’t do things like betray, idle, or suicide intentionally, you should be fine.
I understand that leaving games wil get you banned but I am sick of playing this game and every single team mate I get is going negative. Why would I not leave stay the whole game and watch me and the teammates I am with get slaughtered. Then the timed when I get a half decent time the game is disconnected and I am banned once more. What is the picking system for this game why give me teammates with little to no Positive K/D.
I have been banned for 23 Mins so I thought I would just have a rant considering the time I had.
I was once banned for teamkilling in Grifball. I don’t know if this has been changed yet or not, but if not it really should. Team killing is unavoidable sometimes in that game, and it wasn’t on purpose.
What’s annoying is i got banned because i was playing action sack and literally played mantis breakout 4 times in a row… I’m playing action sack for christ sakes should i really be banned for this? yeah i left the game twice. I’d rather not get any xp or rp out of action sack and be able to leave the games whenever i want. If anything at least bring a voting system back because a lot of people i talk to dont want to keep playing tank world and mantis breakdown. It’s fine every once in a while, but if i play that one game type for over 30 minutes i dont even want to play halo anymore. Fix this -Yoink-. If its not ranked it shouldnt matter if people leave
I usually play a couple matches every other day or so and today i was banned after i was disconnected from a match. before that i did leave a match early because members of my team were AFC. honestly i didn’t see the point in just taking shots when i could join another lobby and have fun. I DO NOT leave matches early regularly so WTF is going on ? i live in an area that has very unreliable internet which causes me to DC occasionally. can somebody help with this ? the only arena gametype i play is community action sack so i really don’t care for ranking or anything, just kinda mad ive been perma-banned for basically doing nothing bad( i assume perma because it just says im banned from playing halo 5)

It’s not permanent. 343 can’t do anything about your internet and I highly doubt they will make an exception.

You’re not perma-banned, you just missed the timer on the initial ban message, which is currently the only time you can see how long the ban lasts. Also, you weren’t banned for disconnecting from a match. You said you left the game before; that quit triggered your ban, and it took the banhammer 1 extra game to catch you. This is normal banhammer behavior.
If you are worried about being banned for unintentional disconnects, I would suggest troubleshooting your connection to see if you can make specific changes to better it. Here are some starting points to investigate: Current ISP Up/down speeds (what your ISP says it should be and what speedtest says it actually is) Ping & Packet loss (measure here, and note that you’ll need to update flash player and Java, and don’t use Chrome) Latency with Microsoft Azure servers (probably where the Halo 5 servers are; you can check here, and you can also test up/down speeds to the Azure servers if you want)
Today I got a 2 hour ban for idling in a match. My parents kept interrupting me during my matchs so unfortunately I got kicked out then banned. I need to know if the ban hammer penalty ever resets itself back to the minute long bans. I had not commited an offense in a while and still got a 2 hour ban. No matter how careful I am 1 day I’m gonna disconnect from a match and will get banned again. So does it ever reset; if I don’t cause an offenses in a month does it reset? Or no matter what if I have to do something important or halo 5 servers mess up I get banned for 3 hours next time? Doesn’t seem fair if that’s the case.

Then the system is flawed. Disconnects shouldnt count as something that gets you banned since it was completely unintentional. And if your idling for only 60 seconds it kicks you out. In older halo games it was at least 2 to 5 minutes. 60 seconds isn’t enough time to get batteries if your controller dies in the middle of a match. Bans exceeding a reasonable time limit don’t help the multiplayer, they just limit the player base which hurts your game 343.

Disconnects can be intentional. The system has to cast a wide net to catch the kids who want to pull their Ethernet cord or flip the switch on their power strip. If you have extremely poor internet then you kind of make the game worse for everyone. I can understand the system taking those things into account. As for Idling. 60 seconds is a long time in arena and the three minute timer in Warzone is a bit long imo. A lot can happen during those periods of times. A period of time, where you are allowing the enemy team an advantage in that your team is outnumbered and where if they find you they get a few easy kills.
As far as the time limit, I don’t have any issues with progressive discipline. The person didn’t learn their lesson with a five minute ban so it goes to ten etc. As far as spacing out bad behavior and using that as a measure to lower ban time. I might be in favor of it. If you go say four months without incident then you go down a level on the progressive discipline scale. So you get banned for ten minutes, go four months without getting banned and your next ban is ten minutes. Go 8 months and you’re back down to five. I’d be okay with that in principle. However, it doesn’t seem likely that the ban system is going to change at this point.
Street fighter 4 is able to tell the difference between quiting and disconnects. I lag out don’t loss battle points, I quit I lose battle points, that is fair. If that game can do it so can halo 5. I’m just worried that within a year the ban is going to be longer than a day or get to a week. At that point halo will become unplayable and I want to prevent that.
