While I do understand your frustration, it is rather difficult to feel too sorry for you.

My point is simple, to which you may disagree if you like…that the ban system is unreasonably and suspiciously strict. When I pointed out that I only quite twice over 100+ games and got banned and that the system should take into account your record better, your response was that you should NEVER quit - too bad. So, which is it…should there be a zero tolerance policy and every should be banned for ever quitting…or should there be some kind of system where it will dial back if your recent record is good for example?

From what I’ve read on here and experienced myself, that’s not the case. You can’t ever improve your record. It can only get worse. I went about a month witjhout being banned and then all of a sudden got banned for 3 days where my previous ban was like 5 hours.

From what I have seen, it appears to be a percentage thing. You have to lower your percentage of Dnf’s which would take a lot of finished games to do.

Just got banned from the game for constantly getting disconnected…again. Ever since I downloaded Anvil’s Legacy, Halo 5 has been borderline unplayable. Now, I literally cannot finish a single match without being forced out and met with the “connection lost” screen.
This is unacceptable. I refuse to tolerate a ban for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

After you downloaded the Anvil Legacy update, did you power cycle your console? Some players have reported that doing this helps with disconnects related to new updates. Other than that, I would recommend checking your connection settings to see if anything’s changed since the update:
Current ISP
Up/down speeds (what your ISP says it should be and what speedtest says it actually is)
Ping & Packet loss (measure here, and note that you’ll need to update flash player and Java, and don’t use Chrome)
Latency with Microsoft Azure servers (probably where the Halo 5 servers are; you can check here, and you can also test up/down speeds to the Azure servers if you want)

Yeah, I power cycled, and my connectivity is fine otherwise. I haven’t disconnected as much as I have been since I first got Halo 5 in February, and the problem resolved quickly back then.

Why was i banned i only quit one game because i had a black screen i couldn’t even see jack so i quit that was the only game i quit in a long time, So why huh a few times my server dropped the game or i went to go do something while i sat there and idle. Other then that it is bull crap. 10 min i have to wait what the hell i want my money back -Yoink!-.

You can’t get a refund for getting banned.

You also have 6 dnf’s in the last 10 days, which would contribute to the ban.

This is sort of a last ditch plea for help. I haven’t played halo in a while but now its unplayable for me. Every 5 or so games im getting a ban. Its in the most random things like at the end of a match (when you see the winning player/team) (not games) At one point i got a perma-ban but restarted the game and it changed to three hours. Feel free to check my history i myself already have. The most recent ban (its at 24 hours because it keeps repeating) occured after accidentally clicking on team arena (spamming ‘A’ as people do) and then backing out to choose the correct gamemode.

The issue with this is if i does not stop then what do the times go to next. Days? Weeks?

I should add that the dnfs i do have i dont understand so dont bring those up. Like i said with the most recent so called ‘dnf’ i didnt even get into the game and the others i had just finished them. This is absolutely killing the game for me.

I know you said not to bring them up, but 7 out of your last 50 are DNFS. One way or another you are leaving matches. If this is you quitting stopping the behavior would stop the bans. If this is you disconnecting then you might want to use the search function at the top to look for help in either improving your connection or lowering your chance of disconnects. The reason you receive the message at the end of a match is that it takes he system a short period to catch up and implement your ban.

My friend keeps getting banned from matchmaking for DC’ing it always happens right after a match has finished and he’s still connected to live he’s up to 3HOURS now needs fixed. His tag is MASKEDXMERCHANT

I wont deny i think its 2 or 3 of those are actual quits. Now i now that aint great and very well could justify A BAN but ive had like 7 now. I cant finish every game all the time but. Ive been banned 7 times (or so) now. That means im getting banned every dnf. Also is those 4 enough to warrant a total of 33 hours worth of banning?

With regards to the delay you mentioned this could be true for a few but some were at an end of a game. A completed game. For some reason occasionally its counting my victory/defeats as dnfs

I’d be willing to bet that you have a lot more DNFs if I went back further into your history. The system tracks you and implements a ban. If you have another DNF after that it will implement another ban with double the length. Repeat with each subsequent ban. The system isn’t likely to change, however you can change your behavior (the 2 or 3 recent match you quit) or attempt to improve your connection/reduce the chance of disconnects. If you don’t get the DNF the system can’t ban you for it.

It would be better for him to post here, instead of you posting on his behalf. Being disconnected at the end of the match and receiving the banhammer message is the way the ban is implemented. It is likely due to behavior/quitting/disconnecting in the match prior. It takes the system a short period (usually the length of a match) in order to implement your ban.

Why is the response so long in arena and Warzone needs to be fixed it should be like swat

> Well yes i do have dnfs just like everyone i dont deny it but your moving off topic. Its implimenting them and giving for the wrong reason. Try to be construction and helpful. Also quick update was on the main menu went downstairs came up to im banned from halo 5. Bloody awesome

So, I was just banned today for repeatedly teamkilling in Team Doubles. I should add that this was the first time I ever played team doubles in Halo 5 too… While I did perform the actions, I did not do it out of spite. About halfway through the game, my teammate just started to attack me every time he saw me, and I have no idea why. At first I thought he just wanted a weapon I had, but even after I died and respawned several times, he would still just come after me. Each time he did, I fought back and usually won. I know that probably wasn’t the best course of action, but I was merely trying to enjoy the game, and I’m sure quitting would have gotten me banned too, as I already lagged out a couple of times today. So yeah, after about the third kill, I was booted from the game. Then I played a game of slayer, and was suddenly banned when it ended. This is my first offense with a very light ban time, but I’m still curious if there’s a way that I can prove that it was not unsportsmanlike conduct, but rather, self defense. In hindsight, I probably should have had my Xbox record my last kill to prove he was attacking me, but I was too concerned about getting booted from the game. Anyways, I’d prefer if this was not on my record or anything like that, as it could lead to more severe punishments in the future should something similar happen again.

It is unfortunate when you encounter betrayers. However, going to their level, even in self-defense, still makes you a betrayer yourself, and therefore subject to consequences. The best action would have been to try to ignore the unsportsman-like teammate; if he was killing you, eventually he would have been booted, which would still suck for you losing a teammate but at least you wouldn’t have committed any infractions out of defense. And then of course, report the player over Xbox live (every true report counts towards getting such players’ rep lowered). Unfortunately, now this is “on your record” and can’t be removed. As long as you don’t betray in the future (even for self defense), I doubt you will need to worry. Be especially careful if you play Grifball.
And just a final note: the ban kicking in after the game of slayer is normal. The banhammer typically runs one game behind you. The slayer game was completed as normal and is listed as complete on your record; it won’t count against you towards another ban.

Alright. Like I said, it’s my first infraction, so I’m not really concerned. And I totally agree I should’ve just let them get banned instead. Aw well. The damage is done. Thank you for the reply.

The same thing is happening to me
It began after the Anvils Legacy Update… This game have some big issues after this update, fix it! It is impossible to play like that…
I m glad to see that I m not the only one with this issue… I know lots of people who stopped playing halo 5 'till all Anvils bug are fixed

343 why did i just get banned. The game lagged out. Kicked me out of fireteam. Ban hammer is useless. People quit it happens. Get rid of it i played halo 2 it sucks when people quit. Oh well. The ránking system is trash aswell. Respond back im pissed about being banned on your mistakes not mine.
