Disconnects are pretty rare for me. Always have been. However, it’s kind of like getting pulled over and told you were speeding, getting a ticket, and then waiting 6 months to protest the ticket. I wasn’t sure if you were trolling or you had actually been banned 20 days ago or why you would wait that long to post about it.

Because at the end I started to get used to it and then I just moved on and went back to the MCC
I’m getting banned over and over again while just trying to play the game. This latest one is lasting for 6 hours after I lagged out AFTER THE GAME WAS OVER. This is ridiculous. I’m not spending any more money on this game.

When you say “lag out after the game was over”, do you mean you saw a message that said “Disconnected from the server” immediately after the game ended, followed by a ban message?
Also, making multiple accounts on Waypoint is against forum rules. Considering that you are talking about getting bans in Halo 5 and have no Halo 5 history on this account, this appears to be an alternate account.

Hello stckrboy, I hope u r well, also hope u took a look a my suggestion my friend. Now I am not arguing with anyone nor would ever as that would be rude I think as I know you feel the same. But yesterday, I had a fairly long talk w\MS about hacks n mods. They are happening as I was hacked as well once. But modifying the console n game is almost always different cases were as game mods are not mods to ur console. Hacks are becoming an issue now as MS said this. But do you know if the glitch disconnect ban issue many posts here discuss is being fixed, I think the next update is scheduled around 10\25\16, approx? Also I myself often cannot quit after a finished game, even before or during the lobby or in matchmaking all which happen out of game and harm no one, my controller (use many but paddle seem a little worse) wont let me quit very often and is in fact a XB hardware issue. Yes I know the rules well but most of what I see posted is no ones fault and players are clearly being banned for things they have no responsability for. Now we both know many fib but these are real issues u must agree. Perhaps a diplomatic look see could eliminate many many posts here. If I can be of help, please pm me. I think the MS rep you were talking to was likely referring more to ‘account hacks’ than game / console modifications - at that, Xbox Live / MS accounts generally aren’t hacked. It’s more down to either socisa engineering, weak passwords, or granting permissions to rogue apps that allow your account to be taken over. An actual hacked account would be very high profile.

The next update is going to drop this Thursday September 8th. Can’t say if there will be any fixes for what you mentioned I’m afraid, I don’t get to see patch notes before they’re released unfortunately

They don’t mean 1 Dnf at a time won’t get you banned, they mean if you have only Dnf’d 1 game in your career you won’t get banned. You have 5 Dnf’s in the last 6 days, the system doesn’t forget or reset, the dnf’s just keep adding up as do your ban times.
I’m sure it’s been said but the banning needs to be loosened up. I had to quit a game of Mantis Breakout because it was nothing but a black screen and friendly Spartan names flooring around. Then the next game is husky raid and right as the game ends I lose connection then a ban hammer is laid down. Two games left in a row, one of which I had no control over, and I get banned. That’s really isn’t fair. The system should be able to tell the difference between quitting and disconnecting.

That game of Husky Raid you’re talking about was completed, and is listed in your history as “TIE”, not DNF. So you weren’t actually booted from the Husky Raid game. What happened was the banhammer kicking in for that game of Mantis Breakout before you did not finish; it just kicked in as soon as Husky Raid was over, making it seem like you got disconnected. But it was only the Mantis Breakout game you quit before that triggered the ban. Here is an excerpt about this from the first page:

Going back into your history and cross referencing that with what you said in your post, you appear to be talking about this game of Infection, where you got 1st place. Since this game is listed as completed in your history, you did get RP and Exp from that game. The reason you saw a disconnect message as soon as you finished that game was because of the previous Infection game that you did not finish. The banhammer took 1 extra game to catch up to you. Your first place Infection game was counted as complete, awarded you all RP and exp, and is did not contribute to your 30 min ban. You also have DNFs yesterday that are followed by completed games in both Warzone and Arena, so any bans you got yesterday would have been similarly issued 1 game after your actual DNF.
In my opinion we shouldn’t get ban strikes that turn in to cool down periods from leaving games it’s actually pretty unfair to us as they people who buy the games some of us have real obligation that resolves in to us having to get off such as work kids etc… so with that being said I think that 343 should reenact the deranking systems that bungi start in halo 3 but only for the leaving mach making games and use the cool down periods for the more serious offense.
LOL… So when your screen freezes for a period of time, and you have to hit the home button to relaunch the game, you get banned… I can see that I most likely will not purchaced the next Halo game…
I finished a game and as I was looking at the stats, the screen froze to where I couldn’t go back or any other options… so I hit the home button and closed out Halo and then relaunched the game only to find that I have an 1/2 hour ban for quiting… BS

so i just started a game. team arena im onyx. plaza slayer. went in by myself. start off get OS. get 2 kills. we are up 7 to 1 i believe. i backsmack a kid in cafe ramp to make it 8 to 1 then my screen goes black like its loading a game and boom! ive been banned for 40 mins.??? so i go on a smurf and it keeps saying your fireteam has changed. my nat type is open. why does H5 have to be so broken at times? can you gujys just fix this? btw i got msg from the random 3 team mates asking why i quit, im an idiot, im a loser, they are reporting me… when i never quit and my connection is fine. wtf im tired of this

It’s kind of dumb and I was having the same problem. Do a power cycle on the system. I was having network issues today until I did this exact thing.
Hold the power button let power down completely and then wait 30 seconds and power back up.
