I was banned for quitting one game because we were getting slaughtered. What the heck?
When I play halo 5 guardians I get banned for no reason and you guys need to fix this issue or bug because all of the people are getting all this banned massage and me for no reason why all of us is getting banned fix this issue or bug and people wants all of the bans off on halo 5 guardians so people well have fun playing with other people and friends.
So I was playing a game of swat going hard and had a 21/15 k/d as my team was doing nothing and I was kicked from the game for what it said bad connection and then Iām given a ban for leaving the game yet I was kicked for bad connection why do I get banned for something I canāt fix
I have the master chief collection and installed halo channel and halo nightfall , so my problem is that I canāt watch halo nightfall. What happens is I go to halo channel and go to halo nightfall to watch the series and it says I have to buy it when I already have it installed , can I just please watch my series, I really want to watch it
Sometimes the game crash or have a bug then the game banned you for 3 hours or more

Repetitive quitting or excessive disconnects along with Afking and Griefing are banworthy offenses.

5 of your matches have been DNFS and you have less then 20 matches total. Finish your matches and you wonāt get banned

Excessive disconnects were announced prior to the gameās release as one of the reasons you could be banned. There are many threads on how to improve your connection or reduce disconnects. Use the search feature at the top to find them.

5 out of your last 30 were dnfs. Finish your matches and you wonāt get banned.

4 out of your last 10 Arena games are DNF. Out of the 3 games youāve played on 8/17/2016, 2 were DNF. Thatās alot of quitting (relatively). Thatās probably why youāve been banned.
i keep getting bans in arena. I have never been banned in the entire ten years of playing halo and all of a sudden these last couple weeks i have been at least five times, each time i lag out of a match and then get banned for it. its not like i am quitting on purpose or dashboarding, it just loses connection and then i get banned. how is this fair. please I just dont want it to happen any more.

Each post was a different violation so I turned in 2 plus then his stats n team were deleted I turned them in #3, an obious attempt to cover it up, another different issue, but after sent it said I could get banned too. It was ten minutes, so nothing to complain too much about, just want to know.

but we shouldnt get banned for being disconnected. if someone gets kicked for being AFK or betraying yes fine, or if someone quits mid game. but not if connection is lost. And the all knowing forum monitors with their vast knowledge of 343i servers state that they can tell the manner of which you leave the game.

Excessive disconnects are on the list of ban worthy offenses. That was announced prior to the release of the game. There are many threads on how to improve your connection/reduce disconnects. Your immediate game history doesnāt indicate that it is a chronic problem.

That is a matter of opinion. I personally donāt want people to be able to unplug their router, just to avoid the consequences of their behavior.
So is 343 ever going to mention how their servers are causing some players to get banned due server errors? And how those bans caused by their server errors shouldnāt be kept in the records of the players that were affected, essentially a black mark to those who habitually never quit? Iām still a little peeved at the fact that a server error caused my disconnect and somehow that automated the system to issue a ban for 10 minutes, causing a forced DNF and enforcing a ban. I just want to know if this problem has been addressed. Also, Iām not a perfect player, I will admit that. inb4 people say I deserved this for quitting one match about 2 months ago and another 3 months ago, and that this is just the banhammer finally catching up to all my heinous crimes against the Halo community.

As soon as that happens, All I have to do is unplug my Ethernet cable or reset my router. Oops, I disconnected! Strange how Iām disconnecting at all these āinconvenientā times!"

Excessive disconnects are on the list of ban worthy offenses. There are plenty of threads that will help you improve your connection or reduce your disconnect rate. I have disconnected from the servers about seven times since Launch.
I was banned at the end of a game, it said lost collection to host then banned for 9 hours and I just got on and thatās messed up

How many times did you lose connection to a game? Because you have 7 DNFs in under 4 days.

So Ive noticed that no matter how many times you tell people on here that you checked your connection, and you checked your internet, and when you note that both of them are working well, they still just tell you the same thing which goes something like this⦠" Well you should just fix your internet, or look up ways in which you can connect better etc etcā¦" I personally havenāt had that many issues with getting kicked from matches, but Ive noticed a lot of people have. Ive noticed when people say " hey Im not quitting, and my connections fine but Im still getting kicked, and therefore banned please help." you almost get the same exact response that i noted above. I canāt speak for you, but I feel like just an acknowledgement that says āhey there are issues with the servers, and weāre sorry, and were doing our best to fix themā would be a nice gesture and would be a lot better than the arbitrary responses everyone who has this issue gets⦠Just my two cents.
I read your explanation of banning and it is absolutely untrue. I just got this game and last week I had to get a phone call and was banned for inactivity ONCE! Today the menu system was acting funny and I got dropped into a snipers game and backed out ONCE and was banned. Please explain how you can say it takes more than once when it has happened TWICE for SINGLE infractions???

Just would like to point out that you have about 5 DNFs in your entire Arena history, plus that one DNF in your 2 Warzone games. So while you may not have a pattern of quitting, you have more than just 2 infractions.

Itās true that 343i isnāt good about responding here; they themselves have said that but havenāt really made any changes to fix that. Monitors and other users are limited in the help they can provide; all they can do is relay the rules, look at history to see if trends can be detected, and offer general suggestions. They cannot lifts bans or even get in touch with people who could. But while you may admonish monitors and others who present these general suggestions, even to people who claim to have ātried everythingā and are not quitting and blame the servers, let me ask you this: how do you know they are being truthful? It comes with the territory of online gaming that those who experience consequences will attempt to get out of trouble by claiming it wasnāt their fault, and while there are likely some cases of players getting booted for reasons beyond their control, I present to you the possibility that many, if not most, people who come here with such claims of server issues actually are responsible for their own bans. With what limited information we have available to view on this site, it is impossible to know for sure either way. But I submit that one such not be so quick to believe what someone writes on these forums, especially in the cases of bans.
I will say this in conclusion: server errors do not affect single players. At the very least, a server error would affect everyone in that particular dedicated server; it wouldnāt selectively kick one person. So one could try to see if a claim of a server error has some weight by finding the game in the history of the person making the claim, look at the other players in the game, and seeing if more than just that one player also had DNFs for that game. More often than not, the person with the ban claiming server error was the only one with a DNF. Itās not foolproof, sure, but it is the best we as users can do to verify the validity of peopleās claims. Again, monitors and others who help out here are unable to lift bans and probably canāt get in touch with people who could. We cannot fix server issues, if they are actually occurring. All we can do is state the rules/regulations, over general suggestions, and do limited research into game history.

Fair enough. I ironically just had one of my first maybe second matches that I got kicked from. Before anyone freaks out Iāve definitely quit before, but itās weird Iāve almost never had a connection issue then when I say that on here I have that problem. Must be the price for opening my mouth. Iāll be off the forums for a while as I had an issue that left a sour taste in my mouth so if I donāt respond to any of these comments right away I apologize.
I never heard of this cruel ban before, hope I can stay away from this. Thanks for the info.
