It should be noted that apparently quitting out of Forge mode to check out different friends’ maps can also apparently count towards the bans.
Last night, I was looking through different maps, seeing how they were made, etc. Looked through probably 10 maps.
I played a few rounds of Grifball. Quit out of one match because of my teammates purposely team killing.
As soon as I quit out of the match, I was given a 20 minute ban. And I haven’t played Halo 5 in weeks before last night.
Today, I got on to play a few rounds of Grifball. Only played one. After that match, I went to play free-for-all.
First match, I got lagged out of it. That was the worst lag I’ve ever experienced in Halo 5.
Queued up for another match. Once in the match, I started experiencing minor lag spikes, but nothing as bad as the first match.
After being blown up by my own rocket after lag teleported me behind a wall when I was trying to shoot, I left that one. The lag was just irritating.
Immediately it said I had a 40 minute ban.
I’ve only quit 2 Arena matches on my own. I was lagged out of one. And every other match I’ve played, I’ve played all the way through until it gets back to the reward screen.

Ya the quitting out of forge and custom games is a known issue. But still really stupid. When they annouced this banning system me and a few others called that would happen and we got called crazy.
I think this thread is here just for us to vent our frustration because no one actually gets helped this way. They don’t believe issues which result from their servers.

Unless you’re playing with at least one other person in Forge, there is no “End Game” option, only a “Leave Forge” option. And whe you click leave forge, it says “quitting out of too many games can result in temporary bans”, which is ridiculous that the game would even have bans anywhere outside of ranked Arena and Warzone.

Agreed, had 1 dnf disconnect and I left 1 social ctf with a friend and I got banned (for like 10 mins, nbd, but apparently the ban lengths don’t reset). My friend who has left several games before has yet to be banned. (taking into account all other potential penalty behaviors)
I know it says the penalties and rules when you hover over social ctf, but seriously, I totally thought social was like the casual playlists from the previous installments. Its not even ranked

Two. -Yoinking!-. Days?! Yeah no, if I have to stay in a game where people can idle in die 15 times, or play like they’re chewing on the controller, then I’m done with Arena.

Well I came here to ask why the -Yoink- I’m getting banned for leaving one -Yoinking!- match, but I guess that explains it.

SaMe thing happened to me TWICE only this week … And today I got banned for -Yoinking!- 24 HOURS AFTER WINNING A GAME ( the previous time 9 hours , after winning a game also)… 343 u can check my game history …it’s unacceptable

Reason for ban: “joining matches then idling”
Ban length: 4 min 36 seconds
Cause: changing my Spartan ID during the game set up and as the game started I was unable to enter text or exit the screen. I was stuck with the change Spartan ID screen overlaying the game in progress so unable to exit, change my Spartan ID or return to game. After being booted for “idling” (by no fault of my own) I remained stuck in the Spartan ID screen and had to hard reset my Xbox One console

I have just been trolled in breakout by team mates killing me so I quit the game and now I’m banned. also what do you mean you won’t get banned due to disconnections? BS. Everyone gets banned by disconnection.
I find that every day when I play grid ball the game seems to freeze and everyone heads to a corner. But 1-2 mins later, it kicks me out the match. I have perfect connection 99% of the time. It also has got me banned for poor connection. Fix the -Yoink!- game 343. Please make it possible for halo to be a popular series still.

Well to get a 3 day ban staight off I think is pretty bad for a first offence, althought I do not think it’s your first, when being banned for days nomally means quite a few bans beforehand, and well your game history proves how namy games you have DNF
7 games out of 30 in Arena =23%
6 games out of 30 in Warzone =20%
All I think around the same time frame. i.e date wise.
Most likely if you look back further you will find more DNF games hence the 3 day ban

The system generally runs 1 game behind, so although it can look like you get banned for winning that is not the case.

To receive a 3 day ban means that you have to have been banned by the system many times alreadys, as noted on the first page of this topic the ban system is incremental. I should ask though, as you sure the ban for for 3 days? The first post has details of how ban times work and are displayed on screen, please check that to make sure you’re reading it correctly

1 DNF out of 1 game on 2/28/16 = 100% DNF
3 DNF out of 5 games on 2/27/16 = 60% DNF
You game history proves that you didn’t “quit once”.
I would suggest to all people who want to post on here about their bans check your game History before posting, as we can all see them.
