3 out of your last 10 Arena games are DNF; 5 out of 10 for Warzone. All within the last couple days. Based on this amount of quitting, it is not surprising that you are seeing repeated bans.

These were disconnects that probably had to do with the servers, it wasn’t my fault.

Server issues would affect not just you, but large amounts of players; at the very least, everyone in the game you experienced problems in would have been disconnected. What is more likely is that it is a connection issue on your end or somewhere in the communication between your console and Halo 5’s servers. If you are really experiencing consistent connection trouble, you’ll need to troubleshoot your connection to find out where the connection is having trouble. Test for packet loss, ping, ensure a wired connection, call your ISP, etc. The fact is that the banhammer sees all DNFs equally, because no matter how you disconnect, when you leave a game it disrupts the multiplayer experience.

Suiciding too much in Halo will result in getting kicked from a game, and eventually temp bans; this is to maintain balancing and prevent potential exploitation. Be careful when playing, especially as a new player, so that you don’t continuously kill yourself. Load up maps in custom games and walk around them to learn where the hazards are. And in games where you have access to explosive weapons, be careful so you don’t blow yourself up. In this way, you will start to become an asset to your team, instead of a detriment.
So thank you for the response. You have some good points there I can use to try to prevent this from happening again which I am grateful for. Still something about this situation just doesn’t seem right. We’ve basically confirmed that I was banned for a lack of skill and the system will continue to do so unless I improve. Now I need to consider things like padding out game modes I want to play with more safe modes and spending time studying map layouts to appease a system that I have no control over or insight into. Moreover, a 24 hour ban from all multiplayer PvP, PvE and Coop campaign content for a first time offense seems way to harsh. I do understand 343i need to protect their loyal players but at what cost. Also, being labeled a “detriment” is just uncalled for. I’m a player with good intentions. This should be obvious based on my service record.
Community relations, game theory, recidivism; everything about this situation just feels so wrong. Bungie never would have let things like this happen.

Check out the #Help & #Feedback forums on Bungie.net if you really think that. Bungie is not the gold standard of community relations for game developers.
As for you other point, I’ll say this: when Halo 5 launched, I died from suicide a couple times. Made a jump into an area with no floor, backpedaled off an edge, surprise explosive canister, etc. But I never let the same mistake happen again, and I didn’t ever get banned for it. If you got banned for suiciding, it means you must have done it quite a bit and not learned from mistakes or altered play style to be more careful. It may seem harsh, but it’s how it is. As someone who follows matchmaking rules and has never been banned, I can’t say the banhammer is not working as intended.

Just straight up banned for no reason. I play Halo to have fun with friends and make new ones. I cant do that when 343 has ruined Halo multiplayer with this -Yoink- banning. Fix your -Yoinking!- -Yoink-. Get rid of the a banning system. Bungie made a wonderful games and amazing multiplayer. Then 343 steps in and ruins everything about multiplayer. The game is rated M. 17+ Its not some -Yoink- kiddy game. If someone leaves a match, fine. Suck it up. And play the -Yoinking!- game. If people like myself are getting banned for no reason other then your stupid -Yoinking!- robot decided to have fun ban at random. Then -Yoink- 343. -Yoink- Halo 5. -Yoink- everything. Iv’e had enough. At this point… I don’t care anymore. Take my post down if you want… But if I get banned for no -Yoinking!- reason again, when I complete a match and plan on playing again. Then -Yoink- it… Halo is dead to me. 343… -Yoink- you.

> 2 out of last 10 Arena games are DNFs; 3 out of 10 for Warzone. I’m sure that there are more DNFs further back in your history if your ban is 24 hours. I won’t try to guess whether you really did lag out or not, but the system sees all DNFs as equal. I personally have only ever been disconnected from the game against my will once, and my internet package is pretty standard, so I do have my doubts about people who claim to have amazing internet yet many connection issues. I have never been banned, probably because I’ve never quit a game or intentionally break the matchmaking rules, so in my eyes the banhammer is working properly.
> Also, threatening to never play the game again won’t do anything to entice 343i to look at whether your ban was legitimate, let alone reverse it. It only makes you seem immature.
Yeah… i know its just that i was mad, as soon as i saw that message i went straight to waypoint and typed what was going through my head. Also yoy must be lucky if you have never been banned, I get baned all the time. (ive quit a game once since launch) It aint just me either. All my friends lag out when im playing with them, somethings we all lag out at the same time. Its frustrating.

I agree with what you are saying but I strongly believe the banning system has its own flaws. My download speed and upload speed is 75 Mbps. For me to disconnect that easily is unlikely caused because of my internet, and more likely from halo 5 so its definitely not coming from my end. It’s not fair to me or other players to be having to deal with theses problems

My download speed is 50 mbps and up is 10 mbps, and I’ve been disconnected only once since launch. It’s not so cut and dry as having good down/up speeds.

jmmmm soy nuevo en esta pagina mejor dicho hoy empeze a jugar halo 5 q ago en esta pagina para ganar armaduras??
I was banned for absolutely no reason at all, I left once to join a friend and I won the next match with them, all of a sudden, ban.

2 out of your last 10 Arena games are DNF, while 7 out 10 for Warzone. That’s quite alot of DNFs; I’m betting that contributed to your ban. As for why the ban kicked in after the match you joined your friend for: the banhammer usually runs 1 game behind, so when you quit a game that triggers the ban, the ban doesn’t kick in until after your next game.
So how come I’m banned for quitting ONE game. Most of the time it’s not a competitive gametype.

Looked at your last 50 matches. 5 dnfs. That is 10% of your matches.
I didn’t do anything wrong. But, y’all need to fix your crappy server because while I was playing the game on multiplayer, it keeps on disconnecting me while I was playing and it said I was banned. So fix y’all’s server idiots. Here’s my email to reply me back: email removed by moderator
Your servers are still broken… They are giving us players about a 10% DNF… You need to go ahead and ban your servers.
Thanks from us whom are frustrated

Some of that was lag. The rest were times I quit in FIESTA (noncompetitive mode, which I think shouldn’t be bannable.)

Every dnf counts 343 were quite clear about the ban worthy offenses even before the game was released.
Good God the cheating and trolling and absence of rank in BTB is enough to make you just not want to play or quit and take the ban with pride. Lmfao
343 You have dropped the ball big time. It’s worse than the Halo 2 cheating days.
Congradulations
