While the length of the bans are a little ridiculous, I can’t understand why you let your son play on your account.
There are many reasons to have separate accounts. The first being that he can’t get you banned if he is on his own account. The second being that you can set his account up with parental controls. This allows you to set ratings limits on movies and games for him as well as carve out exceptions for games (like Halo 5) that you allow him to play. You can also control who he communicates with. I use the setting where my kids can only communicate with people on their friends list (they can’t add a friend unless I put in my password). The greatest part about this is that it doesn’t cost you anything (only the time to set it up). His account can piggyback off of your account to go online. If one account on the Xbox has Xbox live gold, then any account using that Xbox can play online.
You can also create a second account for yourself so that you can play online tonight with your friends. While not ideal, you will at least get to play.
Quick question re: bans. Yesterday, I had to quit out of a game to answer a call from my bank. As a result I was banned for ten minutes. Pretty short amount of time, whatever, I just checked my phone til it was over. Thing is, I was just now banned for 20 minutes after quitting out of a game. Will I be banned every time I quit for whatever reason from here on? And will the penalty just keep doubling?
i just got banned for 8 hours… listen 343, we trusted you with halo. I has been my favorite game and now you are going and screwing it up. I QUITE GAMES BECUSE OF UNSPORTY PLAYERS AND CHEATERS not to be mean and leave my team… OH YEAH I GET BANNED FOR THE SERVER LOSSING CONNECTION OR MY POWER GOING OUT… come on guys you know this banhammer is stupid. instead of banning people who have lives and families that they may have to step away from the tv for or the playters who leave because people or cheating and teabagging and using mods and hacks… instead of ban us, ban the people that are hacking and modding and people who get reported for unsporty conduct… dont ban the good guys and families that are doing NOTHING WRONG. as I have posted many times before I have issues joining arena games. Usually the social games I can get in. Tonight I player 2 arena social assault games lost bad. Tried to join another arena game type couldn’t. Played war zone won backed out to try again to join an arena game and said I was banned for idling that is insane I can hardly join a game when I do I don’t idle. And have never been banned. So there is an issue. With something.

Can you get ban for TOO many celebratory betrayals and suicides when the screen says Victory or Defeat, if so why it literally says GAME OVER? (Please don’t bash my skills)
‘Quit’ a match earlier because my 16 month old son turned the Xbox off in the middle of a game. Nothing came of it. Played another match. Lost miserably but finished the game in full. Banned for 6 hours. Think I have ‘quit’ 3 times since day 1 halo came out every time due to a circumstance out of my control. Can understand half hour, an hour even. But 6 hours is brutal and unwarranted.
Just to add also strongly agree with overthetop’s post about us with families etc who can’t ALWAYS concentrate 100% on what we doing on screen and may even have to walk away for a minute or two from time to time but still want to play competitively. I entered the halo champs with a team and did everything I could to make sure I could concentrate and had no issues. But on a Saturday morning when I’m playing in bed enjoying the peace before the baby wakes up that isn’t always the case…
Ok so I get why I was banned but I’ve been banned twice today(and I never get banned)… just for playing grifball. Well I guess I’ll just have to quit grifball then.
I was banned as well for a lagout 2 times at the end of a match and they were both wins…can someone on halo servers check In to this I got a 1 day ban and now a 3 day ban

This was a few days ago after I got banned for two day after I played 4 back to back games in slayer and got banned and I go on after waiting two days, making sure this time that I don’t want to back out of my games because I was already paranoid about maybe actually somehow leaving my xbox last time because thats what everyone said I must have done and then I played 4 games after being unbanned for two days and after my forth game I got banned for 3 day. I dont know why this is happening but if someone could actually believe me that I am actually going into these games, making sure I have a enough time in my day to finish them and not leaving early or not forgetting to back out of the lobby when i’m done so that my xbox wont just launch my user into another game while i’m not there so I don’t just idle and ruin the game for people. I just want to play halo and this really rustles my jimmies.

You might want to create a patch for the Grifball court. I was banned for 8 hours after quitting (not a problem since I was aware I had a lot of quits, though I expected a lot of my Breakout games to curb it down a bit) when a team started using the glitch to secure an easy win…
A lot of people are going to ragequit and get unfairly banned because of this. If I were a 343 programmer, I’d fix this as soon as possible…

you dnf 3 out of you last 30 games maybe it was for betraying or somthing like that
