The official Halo 5 "Why was I banned?" thread

Magic ThingyI think your misunderstanding my post I never theatend to quit playin HALO I was saying that theres no end to the time limit of the ban over the the life of the game that it continues to grow with no end insight. I also said that life happens and I dont just quit out of games purposely, sometimes you have to walk away for some reason and become idle, like I said life happens outside of the game. I never said there should’nt be a ban just that it should’nt last for days weeks or even months. And I highly dought that 343i doesnt want me to NOT buy there game just because I have to walk away for a moment during a match. The fact that your telling me that shows you have no support for 343i or the HALO community as a whole. And if we as gamers are not able to give constructive critisum to the developer of said game how do you think they are going to be abe to fix or repair it for the betterment of the game and it’s loyal fan base. I ask you to reread my post before you spue your word vomit and think before you talk like a hater and a child.
For your sake I surely hope your not a represenitive of 343i for you should be fired and banned for life from taking part or playing anything associated with 343i for your unworthy responce to a post that was thought out and only asked 343i to make a slight change to their banning system.

Ummmm…No. Don’t quit or go idle. Simple rule to play by.

Honestly you are talking rubbish.

Not only am i NOT a rep for 343, there are NO rep’s for 343 here. What does that tell you.

The only reason the ban thread exists, is to explain what it is (first page), and that is it really. There are monitors who can shed some light on things, but 343 won’t show up here ever.

This exists really as a place to stack all of the complaints. Things is this, It’s a real pity for some, because there are what seems like a few very genuine cases, but they always get overlooked because of the nonsense some people come up with.

Again another worthless responce. Your not understanding what I’m trying to convey, I know and understand the rules and I try my best to abide in those rules and the framework of the game. I’m simply asking 343i to lighten up the length of the ban and have a set limit and not to have it grow exponentially over the life of the game or at the least have a warning system at best. I’m pretty sure even your feable mind can understand such a request. But thanks anyway for imparting your wisdom to the conversation.

You break the rules, you get banned. You don’t learn your lesson and do it again, you get a longer sentence. You don’t learn your lesson and do it yet again, you get an even longer sentence. I don’t see a problem with that. You also don’t try your best to abide by the rules. If you did, you would. Reducing the length of the ban won’t make people less likely to quit/betray/afk etc. , it will make them more likely to. There also isn’t any need to insult people because they don’t agree with your self-centered view on things. There is also a warning whenever you select a playlist.

There also is no ‘c’ in response. You’re means you are. Feeble is also the correct spelling.

Exactly, when you quit/betray/afk you take away from the enjoyment of other who also payed for the game. It is extremely simple to understand. And there is a warning posted in the menus of every game you play. Matchmaking rules in effect. That is your warning. If you don’t quit and you keep playing games and finishing them, your quit percentage will even out and you won’t get banned so easy.

Look your right, I apalogize, I shouldnt have insulted him. But if the ban continues to grow forever then you wont have anyone to play the game because at some point everyone will be banned and there wont be anyone to matchmake with except for those who just purchased the game. I’m sure you have been banned at some point yourself. If theres no set limit or a reset at somepoint then this is eventuley what will take place. I hope you can see where I’m comming from.

No worries with insults. I don’t take stuff personal.

This is where you are completely wrong. I’ve never been banned, ever, and i’ve lost connection before, but NEVER been banned for it. I have dozens and dozens of friends who have never been banned, and i’ve read plenty in this thread that have NEVER been banned.

The only thing that will be achieved is that all of the quitters will no longer be playing the game. Rest of us though. Happy days…

Not a perfect world though, so you will always get a percentage of quitters. This banning system might reduce that number. If they removed K/D Ratio, then quitters would reduce by 50% overnight.

I was just paying swat with my brother and he was saying really rude things so I left the game, and now I’ve been banned? I mean it’s not a super big deal because I can wait for ten minutes, but I’ve never quit a game before…do you get banned for quitting just one game?

I had the same problem because I left the control for more than a couple of minutes, but I quited a lot and never happened to me. Have you done that several times before?

Got banned for 9 hours for lagging out of a Strongholds game… I cry everytime…

I’ve been banned for frequent disconnections from the servers during games, with my wife playing in the same match. somehow she remains in the match and i get kicked (Firefight mostly) while i wait for her match to finish i go to the Arena for some quicker matches. thats where the bans kick in, because i’ll disconnect sometimes before the match actually even starts. This happens regardless of if i’m hardwired or wireless and only on Halo, not Overwatch or other Muliplayer games.

You have 14 dnfs and just over 100 matches. Better than 10 percent rate for dnfs. This includes your last 5 matches. That is a lot of ‘disconnects’ if that is what happening. Are you sure your connection can handle you and your wife playing at the same time?

I have quit like two maybe three games due to important stuff and I don’t care if I get banned for that but what really makes me made is you guys banned me for 24 hours for losing connection. It happens every time I finish a game, the stats will show up and just when it looks like it’s going to the lobby it’s says lost connection. The problem is not with my connection I just got another router and none of my other devises have problems. Never had these problems when Bungie was around…

I actually just finished troubleshooting with XBox support. the disconnections were due to a profile sync error resolves by removing the profile from the console and adding it back on, allowing the profile to sync with the games. The presence of my wife playing on the same network had no impact on the issue at all as it happened regardless of how many consoles were on or not.

That is good.

While I agree that I’ve quit more games than I probably should have, i don’t think I should be continue to be punished from much earlier in the games life. I think the counter should go down for good behavior. Quitting a game seldomly should never result in more than _ minutes bans, not on the magnitude of days.
Again, am I perfect? No. But honestly to get banned for an entire day for DNF-ing ~8% of my last ~105 games since I came back to halo 5 (by my calculations, probably less than that if you consider that at least 3 were disconnects vs quits) seems overkill to me. I should be able to reduce the penalty for quitting if I don’t leave any games in the next 30 or so, not fear than an accidental disconnect will get me a 3+ day ban

So I was playing halo 5 and ive never EVER quit out of a game and I’ve only been playing for a total of 4 hours and while I was loading into a game I lagged out and bang ban hammer you have been banned what the actual f@#k k didn’t do anything

Really…

So I was playing infection and in one game, I lost connection to the server right after the carnage report has shown up and the other game, I lost connection mid-game. The linked video shows that I got banned as I was in a lobby that took 2 minutes to find a person, then it finds it and then I lose connection, therefor banning me.

By the time I make this post, the ban will probably be over, but just to let everyone know… Don’t search Expanded at 6:00 in the morning.

I was banned for idling ONCE during a match when it was 4 against 1, and I was on the 4

Your ban was likely given for your quit on black Friday 7/22. You then played another match and you were not placed into a game on Backwoods because you had been banned. You were then given notification of your ban.
