What exactly does the screen read when you try to join a match?

I’m guessing you’ve been banned before for quitting. Enjoy destiny.

Anyone know why I have been banned on two occasions for leaving one game?
Edit: Just got another ban for 20 min after leaving one game to join my friends who were in my game when the servers glitched them out.

It says something along the lines of “Matchmaking rules are in place due to misconduct”. Is this a clue as to why the ban is in place?

Just got banned for 4 hours 44 minutes…no clue why…my 5yo did join a fireteam w/o my knowledge though and i can’t leave it…does that have something to do with it?

Almost 5 hours really?

Newbie here…haven’t played since original halo…

9 Dnf’s in the last 16 days is why you are banned, and those would stack on top of any other dnf’s that you had.

I’m not sure but that sounds like you have been banned for betraying or suicides.

Is there any way to check those numbers? Over 24 hours for my first ever ban seems like a lot, especially given that I don’t recall ever betraying or suiciding much?

Ok so my issue is my family member, mom’s husband and he’s my step dad logged into my profile on another sons Ole multiple times thinking it was funny and he got me banned from arena I’m very frustrated because this is not my fault anything I can do to reverse my ban you may also check my recordschedule that I wasn’t using any mods or cheap game play advantages

Your banning system is trash it cant track if i lagged out of a game so it bans me for 23 hours dont bother replying because it wont help i lag out of alot of games before but one thing is right after serving my 8 hour ban i play a couple games luckily not lagging. First lag end up in the title screen banned for 23 hours for quiting too many matches.

I’ve played Halo since the original xbox days and have always been what I consider to be a “Fair” player. I don’t rage quit, I don’t kill my team members, etc. I had no idea there was a banhammer for going idle, and I just got one for a whopping 6 hours! I know I stepped away a few times today between matches to take care of some things (doody, child care, answer doorbell to get hassled by solicitors, etc. ) but 6 hours seems insane to me. Can anyone out there with the “power” to help find the mercy in their hearts to let a rule-following, die hard Halo fan have his ban removed? I would really appreciate it and will certainly avoid stepping away between matches unless its absolutely necessary.

How do you tell how many games you have left? I want to compare how many I quit vs how many I got disconnected from.

Well I figured it out. But it does seems a little weird to get banned for quitting only 8 in my last 60 games. and at least 3 of them are internet disconnects… that’s less than 10% of me quitting of my own volition. And none of them have been within 5 games of each other. I dont team kill on purpose, nor do i get in games and sit there. Can it be correct that I got a 2 hour ban for relatively few quits?

I’m banned for 2 days due to lag. I try not quit for the game but over time of just being killed over and over again and not being able to do anything about it, I quit. Is there any way to be unbanned? I want to keep playing halo but I get banned due to lag.

From your other post:

> I keep getting ban from Halo 5. It doesn’t say what I have done wrong and I’m banned for 2 days. I don’t kill teammates and I have only quit from about 4 games since I got the game. Sometimes I get kicked due to Internet connection. Is there any way I can contact 343 about this?

You’ve accumulated 36 DNF’s since you got the game 10 days ago (29 Arena, 7 Warzone) with over 10
in the past week alone. On average, you quit 3 games per day. If you are wondering why you’ve been banned – this is it.

As for your internet problem, the system is supposedly able to differentiate a disconnect from an actual quit. However, I am not sure how accurate it is. If your internet really is responsible for the majority of your DNF’s then you should contact your service provider.

Hope this provides some clarity. If you don’t want to get banned then you need to stop quitting games.

It knows if you quit via the menu, but disconnections are always an unknown. No way for sure to know if disconnects are accidental (power outage, router died, ISP problems, server kick) versus intentional, which a lot of people do (turning off their wifi, unplugging ethernet, dashboarding or switching their box off).

That is a warning that is listed in the playlists description of every playlist. Try playing an arena list and describe exactly what happens.

5 games within 3 weeks… Not here to appeal, just to say I understand.

Why do we get banned for leaving after we start the game playing 3v4? Its already like a random 10 minute ban to stay in the game and get slapped for the entire duration. They are only even barely playable if you’re lucky and get 2 other people with mics on your team, and even then if the other team knows how to bait and switch well enough you’re lucky to even get a kill most of the time. I’ve quit out of 2-3 arena matches since I started playing this game again about 3 weeks ago. Is it normal to get 30 minute bans for this? Because if it is, then I’ll just play another game.

You should probably play another game. When your logic is that people make your game not fun by quitting so you should be able to quit.
