I had previously quit either one or two games (I can’t remember for sure, but I’d say two is the safer bet) due to awful lag spikes I was experiencing. I joined a third game and fought through it until the end. I backed out of the game queue to upload a clip to XboxDVR, and opened Halo 5: Guardians to see that I was banned for 8 hours. Any response would be appreciated.

> You were banned becase you have 9 dnf’s in the last 2 days. Dnf’s dont reset or go away.

here is the answer why you should not be surprised, and like i mentioned a DC during the post credit sequence does not give you a ban. the game gets registered as complete, you are forced out of the server to sit in timeout for quitting the game before

what is a DNF

> This is an actual constructive post as apposed to your last two. I as well only have connection issues on halo 5, fact is, the servers are not up to par, as are many aspects of 343. We all understand why the ban hammer exist and for the most part it does a good job at keeping the people out that it should. But we all paid equally for this game and they need to treat us equally in that regard, it shouldn’t have any hold on how you play do to any ISP. The problem remains, people paid good money for this game, and this has been by far the biggest issue for many players.
> Simple solution, revise the ban hammer. Not that hard to understand. Like I and many others have stated, the ban hammer is a great thing, just not in this situation.

I had hoped that you would see the logic of that post. If I can change a few settings and get my trash connection, which is basically roadrunner wireless to work perfectly in a wheat field in the middle of Kansas 6 miles from the nearest town. Then Maybe 343’s servers aren’t the problem.

I was literally banned for NO reason!!! Was playing all most of the morning. Only quit one match out of probably 20+ matches… this one match I quit was way earlier in the morning by the way. So I’m playing and the match was over. So as it was done it says I got the ban hammer. Now… I wasnt to bothered by this knowing I’ve had it once or twice in the past for quiting 1-10 min ban. But I go to check the ban hammer time limit and I’ve been banned for 9 hours!!! WTF!!! Done with this game!!! peace out halo 5 back to the division I guess

9 quits in June, didn’t go any farther. So there was a reason.

I did absolutely nothing wrong on Halo 5 in Arena, Big team battle, I’ve just upped my sensitivity on my controller to the max through Halo 5’s options but other than that I did nothing wrong to get banned so wtf is up that? This has happened before to when I was playing Arena Swat I was getting kills by headshots and boosting into the back of people and next thing I know I get thrown out of the game and I’m banned. I honestly have no idea what’s going, I want unbanned now because this is just getting ridiculous. Can I only play big team battle for a certain number of hours? Or what?

Thank you

Your banning system sucks -Yoink-. I just got banned for quitting 5 games in a row, I’m not joining a game where it’s half over and the opposing team is ahead by 500 points. For some reason, it just kept trying to do exactly that. It’s only six minutes, but that was unfair.

Hi all,
I have a couple brief remarks about the current system. I find it kind of unfair that “If our system detects wrongdoing, you were doing wrong.” There is currently a severe bug, that says: “Your fireteam has changed, You have been returned to the lobby,” and this causes the system to detect the match as a leave, and you lose CSR. This happened to me twice over the course of two days, and I was banned as well as lost a large amount of CSR. While this was only about a 10 minute ban, I find it unfair that 343 assumes that they have a bug free game that never kicks players out of games. I think something needs to be done about the disconnect bugs, 343 and microsoft together have done a very good job trying to promote a competitive scene in halo, from dedicated servers to HCS, but the scene simply is at a huge disadvantage if the servers are buggy causing the ranked ladders to be a joke. Quite frankly, there is a big reason that the halo scene doesn’t match up to the scenes of league and CS:GO, (and others) and that is because the ranked ladder is simply not as competitive. the fact that you will disconnect purely off a game bug, and lose double CSR every 5 or 10 games undermines the entire integrity of the ranked ladder. I’d like to know what 343 is doing to try to fix or counteract these bugs. I’ve seen early reports of these bugs occurring back right around game launch and nothing has seemed to fix or even lessen the occurrence of these disconnects. I think one easier way to combat this bug is by allowing player reconnects to games. This will allow players that have already been in that arena game to join in progress in the event of a disconnect. This is a feature in almost ever competitive game that is taken seriously in the esports world. as a gaming population, we understand that there are disconnects and bugs that cause issues in game, but it is simply unacceptable for a bug to disconnect a player in 10-20% of games, without a way to rejoin the game. This undermines the integrity of the system. Overall, I am disappointed in 343i’s negligence to the disconnection issues, while adding a bunch of much more complex features that impact a much smaller population. While I do not know how the servers and connection mechanics in the game work, I presume it would not be too difficult to add a rejoin system into the game. I’d like to hear a response from a 343i employee on what we can expect in the future to attempt to combat these issues. As an avid halo fan, and a decently serious ranked ladder player, I sincerely hope that 343 finds a way to combat theses issues, allowing halo talent to be developed, promoting the competitive scene.

i was banned, and its says “coulndt find a match that was suitable for a member in your fireteam” even if im alone, i cant even play forge, or custom games because the internet issues i think, am i right? is this normal or what i have to do?

I finished a game, but as soon as the game ends, i lost connection to the server and BAM. Got banned… I mean wtf 343i, i play Halo 5 once every 4 month and get banned on the second game i play.

Quitting is quitting regardless of whether it was JIP or not. You cannot expect to quit five games in a row and not get banned.

3 of your last 10 matches have been DNFs. You are most likely being banned for quitting. It takes the system a match or two to catch up, so your ban will be usually be enacted after you have completed another match.

I understand that quitting matches several times is a good reason to get banned for a certain amount of time but recently I only quit just 2 matches due to poor connection and I received a messaged saying I’m banned from matchmaking for 3 days. Banned for 3 days for quitting 2 matches? What the hell? Has anyone else experienced this before? When I quit the 2nd match it told me I was banned for several hours then when I logged on again it changed to 3 days.

22 quits in 3 days, it’s pretty obvious why your banned for three days.

Wait what? That Much! I mean I been disconnected like once like 20 30 games but doing that in 3 day? sigh No wonder you got banned.

Is there any way I can check on the status of my ban? I’m not sure why it happened, or how long it’ll last. As far as I know I didn’t do anything. Was playing fine one day, tried to join a game the next day and suddenly “matchmaking rules in effect for misconduct.”

I see, everthing is clear now!

> 2535411823208057;2001:
> I can totally understand banning people for leaving matches, I never left a mach, how ever I did disconnect from time to time ultimately leading to multiple bans each one getting longer and longer. And obviously the ban system can tell the difference from “quitting/leaving” and “poor connection.” IMO its the connection ban that should be removed, just because any disconnects from time to time gives no grounds for banning, its absurd and people pay good money. Like I’ve said before too, it’s not my internet either, this is the only game I have that does that. We pay good money for our internet and good money for a copy of this atrocity. At least let the innocent players play in piece.

While I wouldn’t cal Halo 5 an atrocity, I will say that this is the case for many people, my friends and I included. I rarely leave games intentionally, once or twice in two weeks, but I am disconnected from games randomly every day or so. Then out of the blue, I am disconnected and the banhammer hits me up for 1-5 hours of nothing but warzone (thankfully “Firefight” is now there to reward me even more for playing Warzone).

One more thing, please show us the ban timer in the Arena menu so we know when the ban will be lifted whenever we want to check, showing it only once to players when the hammer strikes is a little unfair of you especially when people get kicked for no reason from your servers are the majority of people who face the punishment.

PLEASE REPAIR YOUR HAMMER 343, IT STRIKES DOWN THE INNOCENT RANDOMLY WITH NO REMORSE, AND TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITS ACTIONS!!!

I think the banned is ok if you left the partys, just my opinnion
