Not a high horse at all. I play on a 6Mb down, 1Mb up connection and have zero problems with their servers. Just because others aren’t willing to research proper settings doesn’t mean that 343 should change to suit you.

Run a wired connection if at all possible, make sure you have an open Nat. Set your xbox to energy saver not instant on. Some Isp’s just don’t communicate well with Halo 5 and you may have to open ports on your router.

This is an actual constructive post as apposed to your last two. I as well only have connection issues on halo 5, fact is, the servers are not up to par, as are many aspects of 343. We all understand why the ban hammer exist and for the most part it does a good job at keeping the people out that it should. But we all paid equally for this game and they need to treat us equally in that regard, it shouldn’t have any hold on how you play do to any ISP. The problem remains, people paid good money for this game, and this has been by far the biggest issue for many players.
Simple solution, revise the ban hammer. Not that hard to understand. Like I and many others have stated, the ban hammer is a great thing, just not in this situation.

Once again just because you don’t have issues doesn’t negate everyone else’s issues. That my friend is sitting on your high horse…

This is game has caused several problems for players. It’s REQ store is broken and for me now it won’t even show games played, nor stats. It’s laggy as all get out. Any of the other 100 plus games I play don’t have the issues Halo 5 does. They know it’s broken. They won’t admit it cause they would have to ban themselves to keep up with their own standards. The ban system should ban cheaters… Whom are playing and repeat quitters. Not dropped players or frustrated players whom don’t want to play against cheaters whom decide to quit to play a normal game.

The ban system is hypocrisy at its finest. If they want to ban players in non ranked game types they should ban players using boosting accounts or REQs that are stronger than other players.

Double standards for days on Halo 5 police Bans

Please remove the ban for quitting from match making. It is pointless. The ban was originally in place to prevent players from leaving matches and leaving the team short. This problem was eradicated with the advent of allowing players to join matches in progress to fill any gaps. That said, keeping the ban prevents nothing and only punishes players, like myself, who have the misfortune of constantly being matched with teams that are losing matches already in progress. For example, the match I just got out of. It was a Warzone match where I was placed on the team who was already pushed back to their home base. The score was 150 to 400 something. There was no chance of the team I was placed on making any sort of comeback. I would have quit, but because of the ridiculous ban rule I could not. I don’t want to get banned. I want to play Halo, HOWEVER, I am sick of getting placed in no win situations where I don’t even have a chance of making any sort of comeback or turning the match around. So, please remove the ban. Keep it for people to betray. That I can understand. Betraying and being a nuisance like that is definitely a ban-able offence. But just leaving because you don’t want to waste your time on a losing situation is not. It’s frustrating, it’s annoying and it’s flat out idiotic to punish people for not wanting to sit around and be someone’s punching bag. There is no honor in this game, so don’t hand me that garbage. I see teams using cheap tactics and spawn camping just to grief or to farm for Achilles. Therefore, if you aren’t going to punish the jerk behavior, don’t punish the logical behavior.

Just got banned for 8 hours for the servers kicking me out mid game… It doesn’t say i lose connection only that i left the fire team every time… I rebooted my wifi and the same thing happened the following match. This has never happened in the past so why is it happening now? Is it me or the servers to blame because its affecting my ranking and kd which is very irritating. I keep trying to play right after my ban and with the same issue happening is the reason my ban is so long so I would love to get some insight…

I know how you feel. Amen Brother.

Don’t get me wrong, I quit games. We all do. Whether it be from rage, your mom calling you nine million times to clean the dishes or just to take a number two, we all quit games.
Obviously finishing games is another reason to get banned.
More and more I quit at least one game, and the second game I complete I get kicked at the very last second of the completion of the game and get banned. Today I have been banned for seven hours, maybe more, I hadn’t even known I was banned for that long until just ten minutes prior to this post. Yes, I quit one game today, but one game should not ban you for six hours. In a total I have had about maybe 5-7 bans, at least 2 of them being from me actually quitting games back to back.
My point is, the Banhammer needs to smash nails, not fingers. Seven hours is outrageous, unless of course you quit around 12 games back to back; if you don’t finish, don’t play. But in my case, and I’m sure many others, it is unacceptable and needs to be fixed now.

What’s happening is that the ban system is lagging about 1 game behind before kicking in. You are getting banned for the game you quit, not the game you finish. The ban just kicks in as soon as the next game is done.

Hello. I was just banned after I completed a full game of Arena Matchmaking in Halo 5: Guardians. I had previously quit either one or two games (I can’t remember for sure, but I’d say two is the safer bet) due to awful lag spikes I was experiencing. I joined a third game and fought through it until the end. I backed out of the game queue to upload a clip to XboxDVR, and opened Halo 5: Guardians to see that I was banned for 8 hours. Any response would be appreciated.

Edit: I was banned for one hour yesterday after leaving a game and then being booted from a second for lag. http://i.imgur.com/WvGdiEk.mp4

You aren’t going to get any response, no one is. This is a dump thread. The 343 lack… I mean moderators lock all threads of people having issues with getting banned or who want it removed then toss you here so they can heard all of the complaints into one little thread that will eventually be deleted once it hits a certain number of posts. Then the problem goes away.
343 isn’t going to fix this. They aren’t going to do anything about it. They don’t care how it affects people. All they care about is people buying req packs, more money being dumped into HCS and that is it. 343 is a bad development team who has no idea what they are doing with Halo. They are the B and C list programmers from other games or are fresh out of college and couldn’t design a good game if someone came up to them and handed them instructions how to. Ironic seeing as how that is pretty much what they were handed with Halo thanks to Bungie showing them how to make Halo a good game. Damn, they had 5 games spanning over a decade to reference and ignored it all.
The ban doesn’t serve any purpose other than to annoy and frustrate players. That’s all it does. It doesn’t curb or stop quitting and because people can join in matches in progress teams aren’t left short any people. So why keep it around? Who knows… When it comes to logic and reason, 343 is a few cards short of a full hand.

You were banned for your quit. Almost common sense at that. The system has a game or two delay before actuslly serving you your ban. Should be glad you even get to play one more game before you are banned

You were
banned for the games you quit. Come on now guys. If you admit to quitting why is everyone surprised they get banned. The system usually let’s you finish a game after your last quit.

He quit because the matches he was in were garbage and he didn’t feel like sitting there getting humiliated by the other team. That’s why people quit. They get tossed into a cr4p game and don’t feel like being the other team’s punching bag so they do what any reasonable person would do, they leave the match. Forcing people to stand there and be beaten down is ridiculous and detracts from the experience of the game. Don’t hand me any bull about their quitting ruining the game for the other people on their team either. Someone will join the match soon enough but as soon as they see the score they will quit too. The numbers of the team don’t mean a thing when they are facing off against players of higher skill or who are in a pre-made team. This game’s match making is lousy and it’s punishing casual players. This frustration is only compounded by the ban for trying to save one’s self more aggravation.

Even then, this ban doesn’t stop people from quitting. They do it, en mass.

So tell me, what does it solve? Nothing. What does it actually do? Alienate and aggravate players. And as it stands now, Halo 5 cannot afford to lose what precious few players it has left.

Ok, being banned for leaving a match, that has not even started (still in the matchmaking screen), to join a fireteam is absurd!

I’m surprised because, at least in the case of my first ban, I was banned for leaving a single game and then being forced out of the second against my will. Unless you’re banned for leaving a single game, which would be downright stupid, I didn’t deserve that ban.

I can totally understand banning people for leaving matches, I never left a mach, how ever I did disconnect from time to time ultimately leading to multiple bans each one getting longer and longer. And obviously the ban system can tell the difference from “quitting/leaving” and “poor connection.” IMO its the connection ban that should be removed, just because any disconnects from time to time gives no grounds for banning, its absurd and people pay good money. Like I’ve said before too, it’s not my internet either, this is the only game I have that does that. We pay good money for our internet and good money for a copy of this atrocity. At least let the innocent players play in piece.

in ranked arena you dont get a new team mate to join, also sitting and waiting 5 mins is not going to kill you, everyone knows you get banned for quitting, so lets see wait 5 mins to lose, or quit and possibly wait 30 mins or more to play again, clearly if you pick to quit there is no sympathy. the shortest ban ive seen is like 2-3 mins, even then all you did was save yourself 3 mins in truth from the game. big deal suck it up, arena has a time limit and if you are getting stomped then the game will end quickly anyways.
