The champions bundle is finally here! But, is it what you have hoped for? It may have fallen short when speaking solely of the prowess of its matchmaking map offering, but they have concisely focused their time and effort on commodities such as weapon skins, armor sets, one armor mod, and more spartan card stances than a true poser can significantly get their head around.
I have not had much playtime with any weapon skins besides the AR and magnum, which I can say the only appealing ones are the Golden skins for both (The shark teeth skin design for the AR looked pretty appealing when the concept art surfaced a while back, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to live up to the hype it initially stirred in me). A positive that I will mention is the increased announcer featured voice overs in the Ricochet mode, as well as several sound effects that are triggered by stimuli such as a goal, or countdown to the last seconds of the match. These sound additions are a big positive for me, given that the matchmaking lacks an adequate soundtrack during multiplayer gameplay.
Other sections of the game may display Halo’s music as symphonic in many mannerisms, but I find myself constantly inserting headphones into my ears, connecting the other end to my laptop and blasting some good ole’ rock and roll because of quickly growing tiresome of the absolute silence of the matchmaking games (and especially the matchmaking menu) that is accompanied by nothing else by the deafening racket that emits every time I pull the trigger on my Xbox controller.
Last but not least, I would like to say that the stances are a welcome addition for those who are not attracted to the default and/or have not completed the challenges that unlock the additional ones. I am coming up on about 15 days of playtime and have reached about 80% of the UNSC loadout mastery, but have yet to unlock any stances; so those who still have had that same rookie stance since the beginning: I FEEL YOUR PAIN.
Any thoughts on the subject?
