The No Info Is Becoming Annoying.

Personally i feel that even though they are going a bit too far making us wait for info about the game. I mean it’s been almost a year since the last piece of info which was legit just an engine teaser. Thoughts?

They announced the title a bit too early, that’s for sure. But it was, just like you said, an engine teaser.
While it’s effectively a bit annoying, I’m sure new info will start to come in the next few months: E3 is a big showcase for the game, but we can hope for at least little info preceding the big reveal imho

The last piece of info was actually the December live stream. Several bits of info were provided there.

Also, they’ve confirmed that the director of Halo Infinite will be speaking at E3 2019.

We’re not entitled to any information. That’s about all there is to it. You’re free to be unhappy about it, but you’ll be happier if you just adjust your expectations accordingly and live one day at a time.

It is annoying, but patience is key. I mean we have received little tid bits of information aside from the engine demo. We have confirmation on Reach-style customization, for example.

With MCC getting Reach and also being put on Steam/Microsoft Store for PC, it’s pretty clear that 343 has a lot on their plate and are trying to satisfy an extremely varied fan base who has been asking the world of them ever since they first got the franchise. Now as far as Reach goes, I would love to see a little cut scene that teases Infinite, like how H2A had a little conversation between Locke and Arbiter before the start of the game.

Point of clarification: they said that fans of Reach’s customization should be pleased with Infinite. This is not a hard confirmation of a Reach-style system, however.

You know, maybe I’m an old fart but I remember the good old days where teasers and tidbits were rare as -Yoink-. And I loved it. I don’t want the whole story spoiled for me before release, I enjoy the element of discovery and wonder.

Just like the first time I started CE for the first time, everything was an unknown. Granted that feeling can’t be had entirely anymore as we’ve been playing Halo for years, but there’s still a ton of room for mystery.

The days where the only info was from gaming magazines. I remember going to the store and just quickly reading about the games that I was interested in instead of buying the mag.

Like the customization will be different but act the same right? Every game needs to feel unique in its own original way. :stuck_out_tongue: If you straight up rip customization menues from Halo Reach, then there’ll be no original work done by the developers, plus Halo Infinite will finally be on a new engine instead of a Halo 3 mod :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I just wish they would be upfront about the mechanical direction they are going in. The sprint/enhanced monility debate is a festering wound in this comunity esp for classic fans so i wish they would just be open about the direction their gona take that. Its probably best for them too to lessen any backlash when they inevitably reveal the game has sprint again. 4 years is a long time so it feels bad but what can you do?

Why does everyone hate Sprint? Like why can’t we just have a toggle in gamemode options or disable thruster pack? I’ve been in Halo since CE and I liked the idea of Sprint when Reach came around and always wanted ADS like all the other games did, and when Halo 5 came around with it I honestly didn’t have a problem with it. Dislike people like me all you want, but some would rather enjoy the games for the sandbox it presents, not how sprint is or isn’t MLG enough.

Not everyone hates sprint. It’s closer to around a 50-50 split of pro-sprint players vs anti-sprint players (even within 343). However, the number of people who would base their purchase decision solely on sprint (i.e. refuse to buy the game if it has sprint) is probably very low. I think the majority of players would play either way.

I think a sprint debate is outside the perview of this thread. Theirs a ton of threads and youtube vids on the subject if your interisted in the debate. I will say not everyone who dislikes sprint is an mlg pro and no one on either extreem wants to settle for a playlist or two while the otherside gets the entire rest of the full game. Its going to cause anger one way or another so its honestly best for 343 to set expectations now.

We’ve already survived 9 months, I think you can handle another 3.

Ah my bad, thanks for the clarification. Well either way, we have received some information on Infinite, even if it is very little information. And I imagine with E3 and Outpost Discovery coming soon, there might be some more stuff announced. Fingers crossed!

There’s been a trickle of small stuff released since then but yeah, the info drought is killing me. I really just want to know what kind of form the campaign will take.

Is it open world? Is there RPG mechanics? Are they going all in on GaaS? I can wait for specific details but I just really want to know those things now.

Anyway, I’d rather have them take their time and show when they’re comfortable rather than show off stuff they can’t make promises on or things that’ll change drastically giving us a false sense of the game just because we’re starving, glad Microsoft is letting them do so.

I feel the same way. As “frustrating” as it is to not know much about the game, it makes the reveal and first time playing it so much better. So I’m glad they did the engine demo. It makes this year’s E3 all the more exciting.

I get it but at same time patience is a virtue we have gotten tidbits of info throughout the past year such as
reach like customization
splitscreen already playable
black undersuits confrmed (again)
again confirmed for xbox one and pc
game will be at e3
they are putting together a pro team to help out with multiplayer like they did with halo 5
from the making of the trailer it seems like zeta halo has been confirmed
im sure theres other stuff I missed over

I’m in the same boat as you. I miss the days when you knew absolutely nothing and got information from gaming magazines and E3. E3 still does a good job and I look forward to it every year. Sad that Sony is bailing on it.

So your the reason why convenience store workers yell at us for picking up a magazine and not buying it lolol

Not everyone hates the sprint animation. I’d say it’s 50/50. I started with CE and I don’t hate the sprint animation, but I don’t feel it’s necessary at all. To me, Halo started to go down hill with Reach. ADS style zooming I absolutely hate and feel it has no place in Halo. One of the reasons why I continue to love halo over the years was the fact they didn’t add ADS zooming animation as I hated the look of it. I won’t get into the whole debate here as this isn’t the thread for it but having a few playlists of non sprint or sprint wouldn’t solve anything and would just angry one side or the other. 343I needs to pick a “system” and be upfront about it sooner then later so people can move on if they want too.

Seemed to be a theme last year with other developers, as well. The big one being the announcement of Elder Scrolls 6, which was a panning shot of mountains that were… somewhere? Hopefully during the summer we’ll get to know a lot more.
