The Night Watch

What is The Night Watch?
The Nigh watch is not so much a clan, as it is a community. The idea behind this community is to help gamers that are around their twenties and older to find games that are worth playing. I myself don’t have as much time to play games as I would have like to play my favorite games, which are pretty time consuming already. So with the busy schedule I have, I don’t want to wait for matchmaking to pair me up against teams I can’t beat, I want to have fun with some people I know and with people who share common strife.

The Night Watch is a community that is open to players of all kinds.

  • Competitive- Social- Custom- Forgers- Etc.No matter what kind of player you are, all are welcome to this group.

What if I am already in a Clan?
No worries, you are still welcome to participate in group activities. You can either represent The Night Watch, or you can represent a clan you are already in. Just have some mention in your profile that you are in The Night Watch community and you are all set!

What if I do want to represent the Night Watch?

Good question. There is a set emblem below that you can set for the Night Watch Symbol

For those who may have trouble with this link, it is:

Primary: Steel
Secondary: Blue
How do the ranks work?
Well, that depends on how you want to run your Fire Team. In The Night Watch, you are able to create your own Fire Teams with friends that you enjoy playing with. I will have more details on how Fire Teams work in a post below titled Fire Team Composure.

Are there any Rules?

Since this is open to other clans to be a part of this community, I do not wish to tamper with rules that said clans may already have set. So the only thing I ask of all members of this community is one thing.

  • Be Respectful to all players, whether they are a part of The Night Watch or Not!I still have more questions.
And I will be happy to answer them. You can post below in the thread, Send me a message via Waypoint, or contact me using me gamer tag on Xbox Live.

My gamer tag is LunarSpy1211, and I usually respond pretty quickly.

Fire Team Composure

Fire Teams are composed of players who find that they play well with each other, or simply have fund together. You can have a total of 4-8 members in a Fire Team, and anyone can make a Fire Team. You are even allowed to be in Multiple Fire Teams at a time.

Why should I join/create a Fire Team? What are they for?
After you put together a Fire Team, you can then submit your team to be a part of Tournaments, Territory Wars and other events that require team work. However, You can only be submitted to one team per event.

For Example:

Joe is a part of Fire Team Alpha, but also has a team of his own called Fire Team Bravo. He wants to compete in the 4v4 Tournament, but he cannot be in that event with two teams, So he can either lead his own team in the tournament with Team Bravo, or follow his original team called Team Alpha.

Now, if he wants to compete in two different tournaments that are around the same time, like the 4v4 Tournament, and the 2v2 Tournament, he can enter one with team Alpha, and the other with Team Bravo.

Same thing applies to Territory Wars.

(Territory Wars will be explained in the post Below)

Recommended Fire Team Composure
To have a complete Fire Team to compete in the majority of the planned events for The Night Watch, you need to have at the very least, 4 players. The maximum you can have in an entire Fire Team is 8 players.

Having 8 Players in a Fire Team is not required, but good to have in case you need someone to fill in for an absent team mate.

Basic Fire Team (Minimum)

Fire Team Leader/Creator

  • Team Member- Team Member- Team MemberThis a basic set-up for a Fire Team, composing of one Leader or creator of the group. However, it is important to note that not all teams need to have an appointed leader, some teams just work together very well, and don’t really need a Leader. So when registering events, you just need the name of the one who Created the Fire Team.

Large Fire Team (Maximum)
Fire Team Leader/Creator

  • Team Member- Team Member- Team MemberFire Team Lieutenant/Member
  • Team Member- Team Member- Team MemberThis is the maximum Fire Team size that is allowed. These teams are mostly used for Objective based event or big team battles that can run with 5v5 to 8v8 games.

Again, the Leadership positions are optional depending on how you want to compose your teams. As mentioned before, you can only register under one Fire Team per event. However, if you have more members for an event that also want to register, but there is only room for teams of four, Half your Fire Team can register under one team, while the other half, still using your team name, can register as well.

Territory Wars
The Idea of Territory Wars is to connect all the Halo games into one massive playing field. Certain maps will be connected to another, and the games will have ways to connect to one another. Below is a link to a rough draft of a map for the Halo 2 Maps.

Halo 2 Map Layout

As mentioned, it is only a rough draft for now. Changes will most likely be made.

The map shows all the maps within the game of Halo 2. As you can see, all the maps are connected through a series of paths laid out in this map. Some areas are part of a circle, while others are inaccessible to the others.

You will notice an elevator path. Below is another Rough Draft showing exactly why there is an Elevator Path.

How Games are sectioned Apart

As you can see, each game will be contained in one dome sectional each. There will be a total of Six dome sections in all, which persist of:

  • Halo: CE- Halo 2/Halo 2 Anniversary- Halo 3- Halo 4- Halo: Reach- Halo 5:GuardiansHaving the six dome sectionals will create a full spherical shape. There will be gaps between them as well. The idea is supposed to be based around Forerunner Technology.

Below is a brief description of the structures purpose. None of this is Canon as far as I know. This is simply a fan created station with a description that is not part of the canon halo universe.

This Forerunner structure was built with the purpose of training troops to be able to work in any terrain that could possibly be found through out the galaxy. The terrain is able to change itself depending on what types of environments pick up the most activity that may call for Forerunner intervention to better prepare the Forerunners in any type of surroundings.

Now that the Forerunners have disappeared, the structure was later discovered by the UNSC and Sangheili forces led by Thel’Vadam. To prevent any bloodshed and improve relations between the two kinds, both forces have decided to use the structure to its purpose. To train soldiers to fight on different terrains of planets through out the galaxy. Jumping on the opportunity to help Sangheili and Human forces would even establish Fire Teams among themselves; Human, Sangheili, or even combinations of both.

The battles on the planet are similar to their simulations, but feel more real, with no consequence of Death. If all goes well, the old fires of hatered between the two races would slowly diminish into smoke, showing the road to peace.

Starting a Territory War

To start a Territory war, two or more groups must establish a Challenge against one or more Fire Teams. Once the Teams and members participating have been established, they must decide the terms of the War.

Option 1) You can choose to use all the domes, meaning you will be playing across all the games that are currently playable to seize as much territory as possible. It is recommended to at the very least have 4 or more Large Fire Teams to compete in this Option.

Option 2) You can specify which games will be used. For Example: Only games in the MCC, or just Halo 2 and 3. It is still multiple sections, so it is recommended that you have at least 4-6 Large Fire Teams to use this Option.

Option 3) Using a Single Section of the Territory Wars, meaning you are only competing on one Game to seize the most territory. In this selection, you will be limited to a total of 4 Fire Teams, large or small

After one of these options have been placed, you can decide between any of these options for how territory is seized.

  • Team Slayer- CTF- Assult- All of the AboveIf all of the Above was chosen, the terms can be decided at random, or by agreement between the two teams.

To determine how long this will do one, you may either set an established amount of turns, (One turn means every team has had a chance to attack) or set a certain date that the war will end. (You can set this to go on for a couple days, a week, or even a month)

If you choose to go by a time limit, and you have declared attack on an enemy teams territory, they have 24 hours to respond and set a time to play the game, or they forfit the match. If they missed the established date, that will also count as a forfit.

How to Gain Territory

(Try thinking along the lines of Risk)

Starting off, each Fire Team will be given a random base of operations. You are basically just getting a place to start. Each team will also receive a certain number of territories from the start. Depending on how many teams are competing will determine how much territory each team will posses at the start of the game.

The only territories that will not be given will be territories connected to the Elevator paths or within them.

Lets say their are two Large Fire Teams competing on one section to explain how this works.

Once the Territories are established, players will be able to determine what their first move will be. Each team will have a turn to attack any territory that is connected to their own. Once they do, they have 2 options of how they can plan their attack.

  • Attack one territory with a full team of 8 players- Split their forces and attack 2 territories at once with teams of 4.Lets say the second option has been established by the attacking force.

Once the attack locations and teams have been established, the owners of the opposing territories can now choose how they want to defend their territory. They can choose from these options.

  • Put all forces to defend one territory- Split their forces into two to defend both territories. In this scenario, if they choose the first option, it will be a game of 8v4 to defend one territory. However, that means they automatically give up the remaining territory to the attacking team this round. This option would best be selected if you want to garentee saftey of one territory and try to reclaim the lost one in a later turn.

In the second scenario, you will end up spliting your team into two different custom games of 4v4. Both territories will be defended and have a good chance of remaining yours. However, you could loose one or both territories at the same time.

Choose Wisely.

After this, the teams will continue to alternate between attacking and defending until the last turn/date established. The team with the most territories by the end is declared the winner. In the event of a Tie, the two teams will compete in a Tie breaker round on a chosen map between the two. Winner takes all.
