Territory Wars
The Idea of Territory Wars is to connect all the Halo games into one massive playing field. Certain maps will be connected to another, and the games will have ways to connect to one another. Below is a link to a rough draft of a map for the Halo 2 Maps.
Halo 2 Map Layout
As mentioned, it is only a rough draft for now. Changes will most likely be made. The map shows all the maps within the game of Halo 2. As you can see, all the maps are connected through a series of paths laid out in this map. Some areas are part of a circle, while others are inaccessible to the others. You will notice an elevator path. Below is another Rough Draft showing exactly why there is an Elevator Path.
How Games are sectioned Apart
As you can see, each game will be contained in one dome sectional each. There will be a total of Six dome sections in all, which persist of:
- Halo: CE - Halo 2/Halo 2 Anniversary - Halo 3 - Halo 4 - Halo: Reach - Halo 5:GuardiansHaving the six dome sectionals will create a full spherical shape. There will be gaps between them as well. The idea is supposed to be based around Forerunner Technology. (Completely Fan made, Not Canon!)
Starting a Territory War
To start a Territory war, two or more groups must establish a Challenge against one or more Fire Teams. Once the Teams and members participating have been established, they must decide the terms of the War.
Option 1) You can choose to use all the domes, meaning you will be playing across all the games that are currently playable to seize as much territory as possible. It is recommended to at the very least have 4 or more Large Fire Teams to compete in this Option.
Option 2) You can specify which games will be used. For Example: Only games in the MCC, or just Halo 2 and 3. It is still multiple sections, so it is recommended that you have at least 4-6 Large Fire Teams to use this Option.
Option 3) Using a Single Section of the Territory Wars, meaning you are only competing on one Game to seize the most territory. In this selection, you will be limited to a total of 4 Fire Teams, large or smallAfter one of these options have been placed, you can decide between any of these options for how territory is seized.
- Team Slayer - CTF - Assult - All of the AboveIf all of the Above was chosen, the terms can be decided at random, or by agreement between the two teams. To determine how long this will do one, you may either set an established amount of turns, (One turn means every team has had a chance to attack) or set a certain date that the war will end. (You can set this to go on for a couple days, a week, or even a month)If you choose to go by a time limit, and you have declared attack on an enemy teams territory, they have 24 hours to respond and set a time to play the game, or they forfit the match. If they missed the established date, that will also count as a forfit.
How to Gain Territory(Try thinking along the lines of Risk)
Starting off, each Fire Team will be given a random base of operations. You are basically just getting a place to start. Each team will also receive a certain number of territories from the start. Depending on how many teams are competing will determine how much territory each team will posses at the start of the game. The only territories that will not be given will be territories connected to the Elevator paths or within them.Lets say their are two Large Fire Teams competing on one section to explain how this works.Once the Territories are established, players will be able to determine what their first move will be. Each team will have a turn to attack any territory that is connected to their own. Once they do, they have 2 options of how they can plan their attack.
-
Attack one territory with a full team of 8 players - Split their forces and attack 2 territories at once with teams of 4.Lets say the second option has been established by the attacking force.Once the attack locations and teams have been established, the owners of the opposing territories can now choose how they want to defend their territory. They can choose from these options.
-
Put all forces to defend one territory - Split their forces into two to defend both territories. In this scenario, if they choose the first option, it will be a game of 8v4 to defend one territory. However, that means they automatically give up the remaining territory to the attacking team this round. This option would best be selected if you want to garentee saftey of one territory and try to reclaim the lost one in a later turn.In the second scenario, you will end up spliting your team into two different custom games of 4v4. Both territories will be defended and have a good chance of remaining yours. However, you could loose one or both territories at the same time.Choose Wisely. After this, the teams will continue to alternate between attacking and defending until the last turn/date established. The team with the most territories by the end is declared the winner. In the event of a Tie, the two teams will compete in a Tie breaker round on a chosen map between the two. Winner takes all.
