The nextbox and halo 5.

Realistically, what will the capabilities be of the nextbox?

I accept that it has not been officially announced yet but there are all sorts of videos on youtube:

Taking these into account, what we realistically expect from halo 5?

Obviously developers build on what they have got (in the case of halo) so the beginning of the nextbox’s cycle will not be as good as what it will eventually have to offer. However they are exceedingly better specs than the 360. 343 are a huge team who had a budget of $100m for halo 4.

(Just to give you an idea of how much money 343 are willing to throw at halo):

Looking back at the launch of halo 4, we can see thta some of our requests were a little unrealistic, as many developers (not just 343) have commented on the obsolete console.

Can we expect great things for halo 5 or would we just be raising our hopes too high again.

Any Xbox and Halo is a friend of mine! Can’t wait until both of them are released!

I’ve heard that it’ll be powerful as a decent PC, so, I’ll set my expectation as such. Dedicated servers, better lighting, cut features due to hardware re-introduced (Theater for Campaign and Spartan Ops), less frame rate issues, 60 fps, bigger BTB, more vehicles, and more.

I expect one thing and I know my expectations are high but it’s beyond feasible especially on a new console.

FORGE

I expect Forge to be a full blown map editor. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s time for Halos level editor to become a vital piece to Halo multiplayer maps.

Many people like to say “343 can’t do that! How would they sell DLC maps?” And the answer is simple… Map Editors in-game will never be as advanced as the dev tools. 343 will still be able to make their maps look better theme-wise and they will still be able to create whatever geometry they want. They will have the ability to make things like Terminal with the train or Zanzibar with the turbine. They could also add map specific things like the Elephant. 343 would still easily be able to sell DLC maps.

Halo 5 Forge better blow me away. Their will be no excuse for it to be a slightly updated version of Halo 5’s forge. 343 should hire some of the Far Cry devs to help with a true editor.

How reliable is that leak linked info? The video isn’t loading but it’s from january.

And personally, I would want to see 64 player capabilities for all games if they so choose, for Halo 5 I would like to see a bit better graphics, however awesome they are now they are a little too glare-y and textures seem to fade out too fast along with explosions lack the explosive look.

I’m expecting the next gen console to be able to do what the current good gaming consoles can do now.

So basically if you watched Battlefield 4 Fishing in Baku, I expect that on the next gen consoles, which isn’t unrealistic.

Besides that, I’m sure developers will be able to surprise us like they always have.

Well thats the thing, we will have to wait until its officially announced to find out.

Well, I at least expect it to be as good as the PS4, don’t expect it to be better than the PC, the only reason I never got into PC gaming was that I found using the Keyboard and mouse as the controller was not something I ever got my head around (and besides, Halos awesome).

I expect Halo 5 to have everything we have asked for in this forum, and that 343i will advertise these features like mad.
I assume Halo 6 to have what Halo 5 did, but have even more, hopefully it will end on a high not.

Hopefully.
