The next world of Warcraft or destiny? Spoilers kinda

The story being open ended and the open world design has me wondering if they plan to extend this game by adding new zones to do and/or maybe even raid type events? With us ending the end fight by jumping 3 days into the future, saying we’re finishing this fight, and then that brute after credits activating that console…. Feels really like they are going to give us expansions and add on dlc.

Also idk if it’s been confirmed or not I looked online to see if anyone said anything and couldn’t find anything so I figured I’d post here as my speculation on what might become of the game.

well it is supposed to be a ten year game so…

Well given the 10 year plan for the game, the next ‘campaign’ will be DLC rather than a new game like in the past.

But what form they will come in is anyones guess.

They could put out a similar sized map in a new area of the ring, with a similar length to the launch campaign, every couple of years as true ‘sequels’. These could function as seperate campaigns accessed from the main menu.

But they could also end up doing smaller expansions that basically extend the launch campaign bit by bit, as a more episodic continuation. Though I think this would be worse, as any ‘new campaign expansion’ wouldn’t live up to the OG.

However, if they wanted to do smaller area updates, I wouldn’t mind them adding new ‘floaty islands’ that can be inserted into the launch map, that don’t necessarily change the story, just add more to do within the story.

As a side note, I’m not sure how Chief’s 3 missing days factors into the future of the game, other than to establish a time-dilation maguffin. My understanding is that Chief simply took 3 days while it only appeared instantaneous to him.
