The Next Wave-Armor Enhancements

Armor Abilities already sounded a bit weird because it sort of seems like that is all that suit can do and IMO they are getting a bit old. Armor Enhancement or AE’s will be any upgrade that improves Spartans(or Elites) combat efficiency.

These Armor Enhancements will of course come in different types of course. Some will be single use, others have a recharge time,a few will run on fuel and the others will just have a a short timer. People are really volatile to upsetting the supposed Golden Triangle but i don’t think they realized that the flow of that triangle was disrupted when grenades were nerfed,turrets were introduced along with and equipment/AA’s. So lets change this up a bit.

Lets make it a sort of Yin and Yang here. Lets up a little dot in each one of the triangular lines.

Weapon buffs/cancels, nerfs, Muscle buffs/cancels,nerfs and grenade buffs/cancels,nerfs.

I haven’t really got a perfect system of how players would get these abilities but i think putting them on the map,awards, and spawning with them will of course will play a role. On the map is what i’ll leaning more on because it feels right for these.

I’m just going to give off one AE as an example for each.

Weapons

Buff-
Rail Amp-Projectile based weapons bullets fire near instantly. When the trigger is pulled contact is made. Single use

Cancel-
Weapon Disrupter 1-Targeted player, ally or foe’s weapons is disabled for 15 seconds. Three time use

Nerf-
Heat Shield 1-Plasma based weapons do half damage for 30 seconds. Resistance spreads in a 3 meter radius. rechargeable-45s

Muscle

Buff-
Eagle Eye-Increases the RRR for the player by 50% for automatics, 25% for precision for 5 seconds. Single Use

Cancel-
Self Defense-After activation the user is able to block 1 incoming melee attack and counter. Beatdowns take two hits, assassinations countered and standard melee is reversed. Recharged after successful activation.

Nerf-
Gravity Bomb-Players caught in the gravity bomb are slowed down by 50 percent until out of the Gravity Bombs radius. Field last for 30 seconds, Quantity based.

Grenades-

Buff-
Homing Grenade-After a grenade is throw it will track the target nearest to it and move into it’s most effective range. Single Use

Cancel-
Anti Grenade Field-Grenades that are throw near the user within a 5 meter radius are propelled away for 25s. Rechargeable

Nerf-
Blast Shield-Grenades do less damage depending how the power of the blast shield. Quantity Based.

Those are just examples but i think this would add a nice funnier twists in Halo. I’m sure people of the forum have their own ideas about these so list them if you wish.

Universal AE’s will be ones that can’t exactly be charted as the others such as Active Camo and Overshields.

It’s nice your thinking outside the box, but this would only add more chaos to Halos multiplayer madness and cause more problems.

Multiplayer madness is one of the best things about Halo.

But what do you mean, i’m a bit confused.

Yes, when it’s a controlled madness. This wasn’t the case in Halo 4.

It’s an interesting concept, but it doesn’t fit the name. You call them armor enhancements, but most of them simply effect guns and grenades.

Like AStreamofCream said, its nice that you’re thinking outside the box. However, I voted “No.” For me personally, Armor Abilities as map pickups would be “the next wave.”

Nice to see your reasoning for no, alot of people just vote without leaving a reason why. Also those were just examples of what could be done. The name can easily be changed, its not in anyway set in stone. Combat Enhancements or Gear would both satisfy.

Agreed. The buffs sound like 1 time use perks, which wouldn’t be terrible nor great IMO. The cancels would be terribly annoying, and the nerfs sound borderline game breaking. Its nice to see someone thinking outside the box though :slight_smile:

I like this idea. That’s why I say yes. Now I did have a similar idea that you use skulls instead. But with each skull you have to buy with cR that would cost 5 million cR and up depending on how powerful it is. Now the Skulls are like cheat code for your multiplayer exp. Each skull can be very powerful in the right hands.

Here is a small list of what I have come up with.

Vampire Skull = Every time you inflect damage on someone it recharges your shield by 25%.

Theft Skull = Every time you kill someone 25% of their cR will be taken from them and added to yours.

Fog Skull = Every time you kill someone there Motion Sensor will disappear on there next respawn

Malfunction Skull = Everytime you kill your enamy a random element is disabled off there HUD.

Funeral Skull = Your enamy will die in a blaze of glory. And plasma.

Now these skulls could work for arena gameplay. But they were made for a different game mode that I will post in the future.

Sorry it took me so long to get to this but i was thinking spawn with but having them be pickups would be more balanced. Maybe have some player would be able to spawn with like maybe the heat shield 1 but i was planning on making other variants of the types of AE’s. This is just a basic cutout what i have here now, i was just seeing how people would take to them and so far hate is what i’m getting by the votes.

Well I like this idea but I think that in order to make this work there can’t be nerf/cancel enhancements just buffs. Each enhancement should also add a visual attachment to player so opponents know what there up against, so essentially the armor enhancement is just a low tier power-up that can be activated at any given moment and get a player over a “niche”.

Your thoughts?

My thoughts are that i enjoy the thought of having nerfs/cancels but i do see where they could go wrong, but you don’t think the buffs would be one-sided. That is the reason i added nerfs and cancels to try and even it all out. So that not all enhancements would just be used offensively but in traps and in defenses.

It’s a bit hard for me to describe but imagine if all equipment were to only be offensive, it would be a bit stale IMO.
