The next logical step forward for Forge

Terrain editing.
If this makes real-time editing impossible, then I propose this…,

The Anvil and the Forge.

The Anvil would be similar to Far Cry 2’s Editor in that it would be the beginnings of a new map: creating the weather, terrain, water, trees, grass, all the raw elements of a map that can’t be deleted in Forge.

The Forge would still be the same, but you could load your blank, -Yoink!- maps that you made in the Anvil and place the basic objects, weapons, spawns, vehicles, etc.

Basically, the Anvil creates a raw version of a map to be finished via the Forge.

I’d like to be able to upload custom objects and textures too, but that might be too much in one leap… Halo 5 maybe?

That could be great, but I could see why 343 wouldn’t want to do that.

Just like how Halo 3 had the resources of the 360, I would expect this kind of stuff in Halo 5, on the next box.

The ability to edit terrain would be awesome, however it’s not that easy of a feat to accomplish in a console game. The next “logical” step would to have an actual map editor available for PC, then have the ability to upload maps to your fileshare, then to download to your console. Kinda like the map editor in Portal 2.

Agreed “Anvil” sounds like a great Idea
