I feel as though the way that 343i could bring in a bigger crowd for Halo XB1 is by introducing new weapons that have never been seen before. I was thinking of something like a weapon that uses Gauss technology or maybe a covenant shotgun, they’re just a few ideas, what weapons would you like to see in Halo XB1 and how would they work?
I have to disagree. For me there were far too many weapons in Halo 4, and that’s one reason i didn’t like it. They should bring back duel wielding and have the original halo 1-3 weapons.
If they do put weapons in it should be returning ones like the Grenade Launcher or Sticky Detonator.
The variety of weapons is already good and they will always look to add new weapons. They just need to keep 1 type of weapons per map. No need to have several types of rocket launchers on 1 map unless its BTB.
If Chief has gone rogue, then why not Insurrectionist weapons?
Dual Wielding was fun, but quite impossible under the current controller configs. And as for weapons, I am all for new weapons when they feel different, and play different, such as my Z-717 Molten Rifle ( https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst233917_Z-717-Molten-Rifle--A-LR-2x-Scope-Counterpart.aspx )
If we are gonna have new weapons, they need to look, feel and play differently from their existing counterpart and/or class of weapons. such as the Plasma Launcher and Grenade Launcher. both launched a respective grenade of the factions side, but did so in extremely different ways. this is how weapon’s should be handled

Correct me If I’m wrong but didn’t the insurrectionists primarily use stolen/smuggled UNSC weapons?
Yeah more Unique Weapons and less of the faction counter part Bs especially with the Promethean weapons. Scatter Shot, Suppressor, Light Rifle looked like forerunner but didn’t feel like one.

If anything 343 need to cut down on the -Yoinking!- amount of 1sk weapons.
Would be interesting to see a secondary fire option on weapons that’s similar to Unreal Tournament or Nexuiz, whereby the secondary fire functions totally different to primary.

Hardly.
The only thing you’d lose the ability to reload weapons independently. Maybe this could be fixed by having a button combo where you press X+ LB/RB at the same time to reload each weapon.
They don’t need to create new weapons, most of the weapons need a reboot in a sense. Even improving the gun sounds can have a big impact on how you feel about the weapon e.g halo 2/3 BR sounded good halo 4’s BR sounded weak. New weapons are always a good addition though why not a gravity Grenade it’s like a grab hammer but in the form a grenade and some new melee weapons could never hurt 
I think this should be on the second create your own weapon thread (the first one died out a few months ago and this was its successor) which is woukdnt be considered necro-posting and keeps it in one big thread.
As long as they are not copy of already existing weapons, but then again Halo 4 already has a wide variety of weapons.

OT: I don’t want new ones, we have a large sandbox, just re-design some of them and balance them better off the bat.
We need new, unique, and balanced weapons. I still think there wasnt enough weapons in Halo 4 and some of them have gotten really boring using the reskinned “wanna-be high-tech weapons”.
Reboot and cut redundant weapons (E.G. Suppressor and Boltshot), reboot others with potential (E.G. Storm Rifle, Light Rifle), and add new UNIQUE weapons in.
Not to mention we need to bring back the “pro-pipe”.

Balanced yes. New ones? Only if they REPLACE old ones, not add to the sandbox.

Bigger sandbox is fine. It’s not like 343 is going to be placing all the weapons on every map, or never keeping the same basic set throughout most of the maps.

I’m pretty sure (positive) that both the Energy Sword AND the Gravity Hammer function as Covenant shotguns, so let’s not add duplicated weapons. However, having a Gauss Rifle as a powerweapon (or better yet, being able to rip one off a destroyed Warthog) would be awesome.
Honestly I can’t wait to see what brand new weapons are coming our way. I just hope they follow more of Reach’s philosophy of unique weapons that took skill to use. Halo 4’s weapon sandbox had far too many 1sk-capable weapons.
If Halo 4 did one thing right, it was the post-update loadout weapons. I think they’re best starting weapon offerings of any Halo yet.

Another thing they did right was remove bloom. As far as i can tell, Reach had so much bloom compared to 4, that i thought it was praise worthy. But then they had to stuff it up with flinch
