If Master Chief ends up loosing his AI companion Cortana to rampancy or even him having to destroy her will there be a replacement for her or will chief be solo after that?
Even though i feel if that does happen will Chief even want a new AI companion?

It wasn’t nessarcary, in reach she was there to help coordinate the capture of the prophet and in CE to get off ship…
OT: I just wouldn’t feel right having a replacement for her, it just wouldn’t be the same
Cortana is too big of character in the story now to be replaced in my opinion, if she is lost, I think it would be a mistake to try to replace her with another AI

Depending on how she is lost, perhaps there’s a way she could recovered, or a way she could still take a small role in the story.
It would be interesting if she took on a behind the scenes story role much like Mendicant Bias did in the terminals for past games, that said, I hope she isn’t lost, without her how far does Chief really get through the first trilogy, I like go argue that she is the most important item ever created by humanity, even more than the Infinity which uses forerunner tech, her knowledge and understanding alone makes her a necessity in this story.
This is interesting. The more I read about Halo 4 and where 343I is trying to take the franchise, as well as other statements made, I’m starting to think that Cortana may very well not see Halo 5. So who would fill the role of helpful female assistant?
Commander Palmer? Kelly or Linda maybe? Be interesting to see.

I really hope 343i wouldn’t chose a girl just because Cortana’s personality and identity was feminine. Avery Johnson and Thel 'Vadam were exciting companions alongside John-117 and hopefully Tom Lasky will be much the same.
In any case, I hope that if Cortana is unable to survive the events of Halo 4, a great cast accompanies John in the next two games and corresponding tie-ins.

Perhaps Blue team? It was hinted that they could show up in Halo 5 or beyond. It’d be cool to see these characters in-game, especially for Co-Op.

Its a shame that none of the novels until the Kilo-Five Trilogy have properly delved into the personalities of Fred, Kelly and Linda, so having them as companions in the Reclaimer Trilogy would be a welcomed addition for me. As well, it could serve as a vessel for a more story-oriented four player cooperative campaign.
> > If BB is the next cortana I am seriously going to face desk because of foreshadowing.
>
> Oh, I hope not. I cannot see John working with BB, especially with the way BB acts toward Halsey.
BB may not have the care and affection that Cortana has towards her guardian, but he would nonetheless be an incredibly useful asset for the Spartan. His personality contrasted with his potential predecessor could bring out a new layer of John that we’ve never seen.

My thoughts exactly, especially if 343 could pull of a Halo 3-style co-op, where have more than 1 or two player could affect the way game plays out (even if it’s only in a minor way).
