The new weapon sounds are excellent

The new BR sound is pretty bad-a and the energy sword sounds a whole lot better than it used to. I’m impressed with 343s sounds. What about you guys?

EDIT: The weapon sounds arent complete neither but still digging the new sounds

I did notice that the BR in the Campaign level had extra oomph to it and sounded much how an evolved BR would sound.

Then in the MLG TV videos, the BR sounds like it’s using the Alpha sound files. Less oopmh, what we heard from that Conan O Brian clip.

I don’t think I have heard all the guns sounds yet, however I like some of them, but the BR is certainly not one of the weapons I would brag about. It sounds like farting.

The AR sounds a bit exaggerated… if that makes sense. It sounds like it may blow my subwoofer right out of my apartment complex. Not to say that’s a bad thing, but I didn’t mind the sound of the old AR.

Same for the BR.

Agreed! The game sounds simply amazing! The BR sounds like a perfect mix of old and new, I love it!

F**k yea

Well after Halo CEA and the impressive booms and pows that featured I wouldn’t have expected anything less of 343 for Halo 4, but it’s still impressive to simply hear the game.

I think that was the point. The more exaggerated, the better IMO.

The Reach AR sound was beefy but the Halo 4 AR blew me away. It sounded…powerful. I just hope it’s not a throwaway like most default automatics and it’s strong as it sounds.

Agreed! It’s much better than the Halo 3 AR, which sounded like a pea shooter.

<3 the Ar sound the most. It just sounds so mean and powerful. If only they gave it a slight buff so it can somewhat match its sound at least.

The Br needs a bit more of an updated sound from the br in halo 3 in my opinion.

The game sounds really good. Im really happy with how they are turning out.

I find some non Halo 4 related irony in this.

The Halo 3 AR sounded like a stapler gun but it did some pretty decent damage. I went back to Halo 3, lot stronger than i gave it credit for. Not meant to burst fire this thing down range though and the BR is still the better gun for medium range.

Reach AR sounds beefier and while it has more range due hit scan, no point in that if you miss any of your bullets you’ll come up short in your kills. DMR vs burst firing AR at medium range. No contest :stuck_out_tongue:

So the beefier the gun gets, the weaker it becomes. Nooooooooooo lol

I’ll love comparing Halo 4 and CoD Black Ops 2’s sound design.

CoD has always sounded like BB Pellets hitting Royco cup-of-soup tin cans for all the gunfire sfx. Especially that “FAMAS” from the first Black Ops.
