The new trilogy's feel needs to be improved upon

Title. By feel, I mean the mood set by music, dialogue, setting and the rest.

I’m not going to come in here and complain about how the new trilogy sucks or anything like that. I, for one, love these past two Halo games very much. The things I felt were missing, however were the feelings I felt while I played. With this new trilogy, we have no Sgt. Johnson giving us a good laugh. We dont have funny comments from the marines.

And we most certainly dont have music like this anymore:

What if we had good ol snowy battles on another halo ring?

I can’t help but feel like that is the only thing this game is missing right now. Imagine fighting through the prometheans up to the triple warden fight listening to “One Final Effort?” Or fighting the three Wardens while listening to the Mjolnir mix? What about evacuating out of Mirridian while listening to the Halo 3 Warthog Run?

If nothing else, I want 343 to replay the old Halo trilogy and, while keeping what they are doing, bring back the music of those times. Dont get me wrong, Kazuma’s “117” was simply beautiful in terms of the music, I just simply would like to see the old stuff along with the new stuff to make even better stuff, you know?

Some of you are so deep in nostalgia land it’s ridiculous.

This game is great and the best Halo in years. Anyone who denies this, did not play the older Halos in their hay day.

The multi-player is pretty much perfect. For once in a long time, I can say, I can’t wait to get out of the gym or get home from work so I can play Halo. I’m so excited to see what’s next in DLC for this game.

Johnson’s dead, plus they said they want these games to be “darker”. The music in this game was fantastic, but the two ‘warthog runs’ that lasted a grand total of 5 minutes, were garbage. Halo 6 needs to end with a CE/3 style hog run.

No, it’s not. It’s good, but most definitely not “the best in years”. And I’ve played all of the Halos in their “hay days”.

Here you go.

Yea i have to admit music wise it doesn’t give me the same feeling as the old ones did but it was a different time i was young so its to be expected.

I’ve always loved the Halo games, but honestly, I’ve always been in it for the multiplayer. I’m like that with all of the games I play.

This one though… The way it ended… I was just hoping so hard for one more mission! Usually, the story mode for me is just “something to do.” Bravo 343!

As far as the OP goes, I definitely respect everyone’s opinion(s), but I have to say that there were things from the AI characters that had me laughing out loud. Some from the little grunts, and some from the other toons on the squad. I think I appreciate the humor more when it comes during the action, although I will admit that I enjoyed the comedic relief of the former Halos’ cutscenes as well.

Overall, this is definitely one of the most satisfying video game purchases that I’ve made in years… And I’m really looking forward to the upcoming (and FREE) DLCs that have been promised to us.

I dont remember even mentioning the multiplayer. Its been about music and the ability to not take itself tooooo seriously from top to bottom.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the change in feel. We just need to remember why we started playing Halo in the first place.

I-I didn’t notice this. Thank you.

Some of you are so deep in Halo stockholm syndrome you can’t accept a new Halo game has glaring flaws…
