Having been unhappy with the new story direction, and encountering fan boys who praise it, I returned to the dialogue of the original trilogy. My trip down memory lane has reaffirmed my believe, that making the forerunners no longer human was an unacceptable retcon!

Was THREE bumps really necessary? If no one cares, then no one cares.
I agree that having humanity be the Forerunners was an cooler idea, but 343’s handling of it has been very well done. I would prefer the Forerunners=Human storyline instead, but that’s never going to happen. But what is being done is fantastic.
And just because someone likes it doesn’t mean they’re a “fanboy,” it just means they have a different opinion.

Is it wrong to want to know if so one else agrees. I mean apart from the horrible attitude that hanging out in forums gives you, can you really explain how the bumps inconvenienced you in any way.
As for your points, I guess it is a testament to the fact that halo fans in general, are not acustomed to large sprawling stories. Must ppl (eg comic fans) are hostile to retcons. The halo fan base don’t seem to care. Something that may or may not be connected to this (you decide), is that when I said humans where forerunners in the time of CE, i was called stupid! Food for thought.
But the forerunners were never confirmed to be human to begin with…they were referred to as “humanoid” a few times…

And yet they made it painfully obvious for all but the simple minded. Do I need to dig up the dialogue. Better yet, ponder the phrase: Reclaimer
Please show me where it says forerunners are humans.

Now I’m “simple minded”, okay.
It’s a sound theory, but it’s not set in stone. Nothing was retconned.
Some of the covenant dialogue would also imply the opposite.
lol how he bumped 3 times just to get ppl to go against his claim lol

/Facepalm. The fact that most intelligent halo fans, and wikis had come to this conclusion, based on a mountain of evidence is enough.
Its more amazing that because it wasn’t outright said, 343 could change it, safe in the knowledge that half of you weren’t paying attention!

I already adressed an attack on the 3 bump. Maybe you should read the thread first.
On another note, (I don’t care how flamed I get for sayin this)If everyone on this forum flames this, I will have lost all faith in the intell7gence of halo fans. Say I am arrogant for all I care. When the majority or wrong, the truth often looks that way
> When the majority or wrong, the truth often looks that way
…um…yes…yes it are?
on topic OP needs to chill cuz this is so not an issue.
Your conversation style could use some work. Calling people stupid when they disagree with you doesn’t really promote an open dialogue.
Then again, something can be said for the fact that even though you clearly only want people to agree with you, you came to these forums and posted anyway.

First of all Bungie set in stone the lore, Humans were also said to have been hinted to have existed at the time of Forerunner’s empire and that they had great potential. It was hinted in halo 2 that they were reclaimers not forerunners. Furthermore in 3 although it is said by Guilty Spark “You are the child of my makers. Inheritor of all they left behind. You are Forerunner.” You recliam their legacy making you in all intents and purposes forerunner to guilty spark. you have to remember that guilty spark is shown in halo 1 2 and 3 to be eratic and mistakes you for someone who asked him a question long ago who obviously is forerunner. And all forerunner AI refer you too you as reclaimer not forerunner. The forerunner reseeded the galaxy they believed themselves to be the protectors of the galaxy and at the end they chose humanity to inherit their duty making them their heirs or children.
It was thought that humans descended from the forerunners, however it was later learned in halo 3 that they are in fact a species believed and chosen with much influence of the librian to be the greatest potential of upholding the mantle.
All of these facts are explained and hinted at throughout halo 2,books and halo 3 campaign and terminals. Just cause you didn’t take the time to read them is your fault. All they did was continue lore from previous games.

do people still believe that 343 Guilty Spark was speaking literally in Halo 3? That was literally the only grounds anyone would have to believe that the forerunners were human. And coming from an insane monitor makes the statement even more sketchy.
Spark was going insane and “lumping” the humans with the Forerunners.
Want proof that they were never human? Go to Halo 2, look at the Gondola controls on Sacred Icon and you will see a hand in the center with Four center fingers and two thumbs, one on each side. Just like the Didact.
The humans and Forerunners were just very similar in anatomy.
‘Why would you hesitate to do what you have already done? Last time you asked me, “if it where my choice, would I do it”’
#43 Guilty Spark.
I’m sorry, maybe 343 can’t tell the differences between human and forerunner, despite making the distinction quite clear in recent novels. Oh, and the human-covenant war was the result of misunderstanding mendecant bias!
