Not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet, but I think I’ve noticed something with the way the new smart scope works…
So, back at the e3 reveal it was shown in a few clips that despite scoped weapons returning to the classic zoom mechanic, other weapons, such as the AR and Needler still have the Halo 5 holographic overlay zoom. However, it appears to be the same overlay and zoom level for all scope-less guns, almost like a hybrid of the helmet binoculars from 2/3/Reach/4 and 5’s smart scope. Something I’m personally okay with.
However, I know many have voiced concerns for it, due to the accuracy buff gained from the zoom… but, when paying close attention to all the gameplay being released (not currently signed up as an insider, far too busy at the moment!) I noticed something: the reticle gets bigger when zooming, implying that there isn’t actually an accuracy buff…
Of course, not having access to the game itself I have no way of verifying my claims, but if anyone who does wants to check it out, I’d love to know if I’m right or not! And if I am, I’m sure there’ll be lots of people eager to find out about this little detail.
