The New Radar

Loving the flight so far, amazing work 343, but I was wondering about the radar pings, it would be nice if we could get an elevation indicator however. Just so we can know if they are above us or below us or even with us. Thanks!

I think that is intentional. People cry about all kinds of things: radar, autoaim…
Soon it will only be ok if you aim with the arrow keys.

Lmao so true

No no elevation indicator. This is Halo. That would be weird imo.

What do you mean? Its been here in every game.

Its in every other Halo game tho

To be clear I’m talking about the enemy radar signal. If they are a platform above us it usually has a little arrow pointing up to indicate they are above, vice versa for below. I just think it would be a bit useful, considering how everyone will be flying with repulsors and grapple-shots.

I don’t understood why we want elevation indicators. Part of the fun of the game is knowing where the player is without the game telling you. You would be removing player-IQ as part of the skillset that makes it fun.

You realize that every Halo game has had it, right?

No they haven’t

Halo 3, Reach, 4, 5, and H2A have had it

Halo 3 doesn’t have it. Even if it did those aren’t all the Halo games.

The radar in this game is pretty frustrating it doesn’t pickup sprinting players by the time it shows up in the radar your dead. It defeats having a “motion tracker”

Still, its a decent half of the franchise. And since this game is focusing on elevation the most out of all of them, it would make sense to include it.

The maps we’ve seen have barely any verticality compared to maps like Prisoner in CE or Countdown in Reach. I really doubt the rest of them will be that much different. The only thing that needs to change on the radar is the range needs increased a bit.

Boarding Action map with elevation on the radar would be interesting…
